Posted: 1/5/2007 6:19:04 PM | I personally love tattoos. I may not have any(yet), but I do appreciate the art of tattooing. I even designed a couple of tats for people I know. It may not appeal to many, but to each their own. I think if they're tastefully done they can be rather beautiful and compliment someone. Example: Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. Damn, he has the most beautiful tats I've ever seen and especially because he wears them so well | |

As I always say, "tattoos are like potato chips, can't have just one!!!" I luv' body art!!! I don't purposely seek men whom have "lots" of ink. Although it is a very BIG eye catcher!!! Some women seek muscles, looks, $$$, I sincerely seek whats in a man's heart. I have dated men whom I never even knew had any ink, until further into the relationship...And I've dated totally inked men.
Each, and every one of my art pieces have very deep, sincere meaning  , NO flash here  !!!
Due to my profession, my ink is where I can cover it. Nothing above the collar bones, nor below the wrists, exception of one piece that I can cover with a ring. I am not embarrassed, nor ashamed of any of my art. Much of society, even though we are in the 21st. century...Some people, 'specially seniors, still have a difficult time accepting, appreciating body art??? The reality of the unknown is very judgemental  !!!
I do NOT believe in names...Unless a memorial piece . Least of all, children's names...Back in the ole' Sailor Jerry days, names were considered taboo, jinx!!! Other than the traditional "Mother/Mom".
Both of my children received their first piece of body art for their 18th. birthday  , from me, mama. My bod' is my canvas  !!!

| Tattoos and the body

Over the years- they have multiplied.
My thought is that colour tats need to be touched up- as they get blurry and weird after time. Crisp tats are far nicer. Clean lines are very important to any design to make them effective.
You spend all that time designing, and they are nor cheap...As your body is your supposed canvas or temple- keep them maintained too. He is a graphic designer- so his are his originals.
There is also a limit- keep the face and hands out of the zone.
People do not want to talk to a full face mask- it is not comforting.
I do not have any.
I think that the pain factor and the body's natural " gravitational pull" tends to not be a favourable girlie thing.
If you can take the pain and keep it mainitained- then go for it.
I'll stick to my temporary ones- I like the change...designers, we're a strange bunch. LOL | |

Posted: 1/19/2007 8:38:20 AM | I'm kind of appalled at the lack of tolerance or acceptance exhibited by some of the women in this forum. So you're not attracted to guys with tattoos....big f-ing deal. That doesn't give you the right to judge people who are heavily tattooed, or those that like us.
Also, tattoos say nothing about someone's character. Just because I choose to adorn myself with images of absolute permanence, doesn't make me a bad person. I'm well-educated, giving, and a stand-up guy. I have worked with children for over 20 years, teaching, and I volunteer in my community. And for those of you that foster that animosity towards tattooed people in your kids...you should be ashamed of yourself. Nothing like raising your child to be a total bigot. | |
