While I've done it a few times in the past to have fun with the guy I was in a relationship with, it's not my main reason for doing it and normally the only one benefitting from it is me as it's not obvious to others and I would never let it be.
It's just very arousing when wearing something loose that the air flows through a bit and just as I sincerely do enjoy wearing sexy lingerie even if a guy isn't going to see it, same thing with going commando. It's mentally exciting for me and physically, it is arousing. | |

How do you figure that??? For those that are just a little slow I shall repeat myself. Many women, not all of course I do not want to generalize, go commando purely for comfort. I compare it to male bikini briefs...why don't all men wear those??? Because they are uncomfortable?!?!? Exactly the same way I feel about panties. I have tried them all. Boy shorts, Granny, Fruit-of-the-loom, mens boxers, thong, g-string...you name it I try it...I just feel more COMFORTABLE without. It has NOTHING to do with sex for me. It is the opposite actually. If I go out and think I may be getting some I wear the matching sets....bra and panties. I just tend to be uncomfortable for most of the evening. LOL
I think saying someone that goes without underwear is slutty or someone that smokes is promiscuous just shows your lack of intelligence and sensitivity.

Nope. As my profile notes, underwear "protect[s] you from your jeans, and vice versa." One of the most valuable things I learned in college is that inner layers of clothing protect the outer levels from your own sweat, oil, and other gunk. To expand on what another poster wrote: If you wear underwear, you don't need to wash your outerwear as often. For example, you can wear jeans for up to about a week, depending on how active you are and how much you spill on them. :) Since underwear is much less bulky, that means you need less storage space, and laundry is easier to carry. And frankly, underwear makes pants a lot more comfortable (although there are alternatives like the seam liners mentioned upthread).
As for the OP: I generally prefer pretty underwear to commando, and it's always fun to catch a glimpse. (The thong under jeans is a good example, although it's more in-your-face than tantalizing.) Furthermore, commando lost much of its charm for me after having lived with a woman who preferred it 24/7. However, the thought of a woman going skirt + commando as a special treat is still pretty sexy -- but I think that's more because it's a special treat. And it really must be a skirt, not pants, as the latter defeat the playing-with-fire and easy-access aspects of going commando.
By the way, I'd be curious to hear how women feel about men going without. If you unfasten a man's trousers, is it a pleasant surprise to see Mr. Happy waiting for you, or would you rather have the extra layer to play with? | |

How is this so different then men who go commando? IMHO, that is far more noticeable to others then a woman who does so. Even if a woman is wearing a short skirt, unless she wants you to see something, it's not happening.
I don't go commando to flash men I don't know, pull a Sharon Stone or "accidentally" let guys get a peek. I do it for comfort and because I love the feel of it and can guarantee no guy other then one I'm in a relationship with would ever know. In the summer, I just find it far more comfortable, especially under some types of shorts.
For those who might bring up the issue of hygiene, I wash all of my clothes after wearing them once anyway so it's really not an issue and my feeling is, if most of our body benefits from fresh air, wouldn't every part reap the same benefits?
NuttyIrish - As to your question regarding whether women like it when a guy goes commando - I guess I tend to do what I enjoy a man doing when in a relationship. Switch it up so it's always a surprise and you're never really sure. I agree that going through the extra layer can add to the excitement and foreplay but at other times, it's incredibly sexy and a great tease when a guy has nothing on underneath while you're out together. | |
