| Why don't people post a picture on their profile?
Posted: 7/3/2006 1:15:50 PM | I agree, Sassyblue! I guess coming from an AOL provider, it just comes naturally to post one. I also think that we are all a type of God's animal life, too. Have you ever opened the refrigerator and just looked inside for something that just might meet your appatite? How about standing in front of your clothes closet and tried to pick out something that matched your mood. I think when we look at others (this is the mans view I think-or atleast mine), when I look through some of the photos, sometimes a smile or smirk, or maybe a haircut or pose gives me an opportunity to want to look further. I agree, beauty is on the inside, but would we drive rusted cars with broken windshields, if we only knew the motor and transmission was good? There are lovely "big girls" and wonderful "big hairy guys", pretty skin-n-bones women, and cant forget the sensative nature of the guy that was on the porch in the movie Dueling Banjos. But, all that aside, in our technology of today, its hard to look at a profile or just read the words composed and come up with THIS IS THE ONE. Either way, I think we need to engage both, visual and compassionately our search when we are on such a site...just my opinion, not trying to change yours, just sharing. :) | |

Posted: 7/6/2006 3:32:20 AM | I have a picture posted of myself, although I don't think it is so important. I would rather get to know someone through their words. I learn so much about people just by what they say or don't say. I try to look deep into a person, and not just on the surface. A person can be a knock-out physically, you know, really eyecandy..and have the personality of a garbage can. So, for me, looks has very little to do with my liking a person. I would much rather be associated with someone who is plain looking, but has a winning manner about him.  | |

1. married ( dont want spouse to see their picture online )
2. not what they say they are on profile ( overweight ,years older or years younger ,etc )
3. dont know how........( computer illiterate )
4. no scanner or digital camera

If we feel the person is trustworthy and a possible match for us, we can always send them a pic then. Doesnt always mean the person doesnt want to be seen, but there are terms that have to be considered. | |

Think about how many times you have put your hand in front of the camera to block the lens when someone was trying to take a picture of you. It might be the fact that they do not like they way they look. It could also lead to numerous thiings...like lets say that an extremely good looking girl/guy puts thier photo up, and two days later has about 200 emails...haha...that could get annoying...
Could be the simple fact of laziness!!!!!!

It came off a very cheap webcam, and it doent do me justice. It sure hasnt gottne me tons of responces! Would a better pic really make any differance? | |

I did not tell a lie anywhere in my profile.
the main reason is even with out a pic posted I been on some dates.
All nice ladys. read the profile and see if I sound like one you would like.

Seriously...
C'mon... some people just aren't comfortable feeling as if they are on display for the world to oogle...
And most that don't have a photo, are looking for friends, chat, the forums... etc...
Personally, I despised when someone would ask for a picture of me immediately... my outer appearance does not define the person I am and I preferred to meet people that I would sync with on an intellectual level rather than physical... but that's just me... *shrug | |
