My new boyfriend had a gf when we met months before, and I foolishly got with him after she broke his heart (his version was that he broke up with her). So I should have known better when he was calling me Holly. He wasn't over her. And you know what? I think I've done it to someone too. But don't think they actually heard me. | |

I called my bf my ex's name....this didn't go over well at all. didn't talk to me for a couple of hours!
and the first time I went to a work related event with my new bf just after splitting up with my husband I was introducing him to my boss and called him my friends name.... what an idiot I felt like but I was so nervous that I went so red! He took it well knowing that I was nervous cause we were talking about it the whole time in the car.

Posted: 1/7/2007 3:35:01 AM | Once, in my youth - embarassing - and it was at that moment - I yelled out Kurt - which wasn't his name, and he said what - I said - it hurts it hurts lol (I was kinda fantasizing about this guy I knew - I know bad - but I was 24). Needless to say we stopped seeing eachother after that! Thank god!
My mom, and now my sister seem to have a hard time remembering names - mom used to get so mad at us she would go through a list of names - once when I was about 18 - she called me spike - that was the dogs name. Me in my old age, I seem to stammer a bit - especially if I haven't seen some one in eons. But before saying their name, I try to make damn sure I remember what it is. Or if I run into someone that recognizes me - but I cannot remember, I just truthfully say - I am so sorry - I have a hard time remembering names - comes with old age! | |

It happened quite a lot actually but he didn't seem to mind it and understood that when your with someone for a significant period of time,like almost a lifetime, that its hard to break away from calling someone else by that name.But not once did he ever call me Mary, which was his ex wifes name.Its almost like when you got this song in your head and can't get it out and you keep humming it all day. | |

Posted: 1/9/2007 5:52:45 PM | At my old job I used to call my coworkers by the wrong name ALL the time, but that's not really too embarrassing.. "Hey Bekki, I mean, Stacey - er - whatever the hell your name is, bring me that book please!". At least I could blame it on the fact that we always had staff coming and going.
I have never called a s/o a wrong name.. to his face! But once at work I was talking about him to a coworker and I called him my ex's name by mistake. And it was an ex I hadn't even had any contact with in at least 2 years! I was so mortified, but thankful that my coworker had never met my boyfriend and wouldn't tell him! It must be something in that workplace that makes me screw up names lol.
I don't know what I would do if I ever called my boyfriend the wrong name, or what I would do if it were the other way around! As long as it wasn't during sex I think it would be forgivable heh. | |
