You should be insulted whether or not you fall into her “short man” range. The whole "and that's a good thing [exclamation mark]" when applied to height, should be all that you need to see.

Posted: 11/12/2006 9:39:17 PM | There are many claims about how appearance is not important but the reality is that a man's height is by far and away the most important characteristic to women. It would appear the minimal requirement women have, even women UNDER 5', is 5'9". Since this one number is the stopping point for many women, most do not read the rest of the profile and often delete any email without reading it. Personality? Clearly not important.
I find it laughable when guys meeting this requirement complain about the shortage of short girls. I have known quite a few "players" but I have yet to meet a "player" under 5'9". I assume there are some but it appears they are vastly out-numbered. Perhaps the ease of meeting women and not having to look them in the eye contributes to being players.
The only time I find my height a problem is here. I assume some men lie about their height just as many women lie about their age. I can't really blame either since it gets past the initial screening. | |

Posted: 11/12/2006 9:51:19 PM | Dave I wouldn't worry about your height. I am only 5' even , and I like all men short or tall. It is not a deal breaker to be a certain height. I am sure there are plenty of others who feel the same way. I have dated guys from 5'1" to 6'7". One guy I met on another dating site a year ago claimed he was 5'7" but he was 5'1". He was dishonest about his true height, but it was not a problem with me. There were more important things to consider such as intelligence, personality, sense of humor, common interests, chemistry, etc. There are alot of short women around, and I am sure you will find your mate. You seem like a nice, intersting,handsome,intelligent man, and there are many who would be smart to give you the chance to show what type of man you really are. I think anything under 5'7" for a guy is short. I was referring to your comment that "and that's a good thing". The original poster is not a short guy. . . but why is that a good thing? | |

I am not short, only below average height. If women assume all the men are lying, then they set their sights that much higher. I would not consider myself as completely unsuccessful meeting women here nor have I expected quick results. I am simply frustrated at the dishonesty and the rewards derived from it. | |
