| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 6:36:21 AM | I think if a woman owns a gun for self protection, that is fine as long as she is licensed to have it and keeps it properly and safely stored. Of course, if she is emotionally unstable or a drug addict or alcoholic, then she shouldn't have a gun because her judgement can't be trusted.
If she told me too soon, I would think that she was threatening me/didn't trust me.
Message 16, if you are a cop, I think it is your obligation to carry your gun while off duty, unless you are going drinking or something. Who knows when you might see a crime, and cops are never REALLY off duty.

What if she were raped in a parking lot or park, and after that decided she wanted to carry a gun for protection so it wouldn't happen again. You have a problem with that? If you say "no, I would understand her fear and desire to carry a gun, after all she was raped". Well think of this, if she had had a gun the first time maybe she would not have been raped. Maybe shed of shot his ass, leaving him without a weapon to use on women in the future.
Ladies, these guys have no clue, have protection for yourselves and your families. If a man doesn't want you to have protection if you feel then need, then I would be concerned and probably not have any interest in him.
I believe that life should be peaceful, but if someone is going to come into my home or try to assault me, he is gonna get an ass full of lead.
I do not flaunt my weapons, and I would hope I never have to hurt anyone.
ALSO, I BELIEVE THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD NEVER OWN A GUN, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. There should be a mental background check and doctors clearance for sure.

There was a knock at the door. When I opened it there was a broad with two forty fives staring me in the face. She also had a gun.
@cherokee. Checks? Cool. Who gaurds the gaurds?
A weapon is a weapon, is a weapon. Mine are my mind, body, and about 36" of cold steel. My boy's are his hands and feet and heart (that and a very dark shade of karate belt). You want a gun? Show me you can handle a missile weapon with skill, respect, and most importantly unshakable control and I don't care if it is a gun, crossbow, bow and arrow, or titan missile rack.

Those that fear law-abiding firearms owners are just a bunch of whigning little sissy girlie-men, and on this there can be no debate.

If a woman was a cop, I could see her having a gun... but it should be safely locked away.

Is that the US ammendment to thier constitution that covers the right to bear arms that every US Supreme Court consistenty rules applies to State Militias and not individuals, or is there another one? Just curious as an inhabitant of Canada. (That large and substantially less murderous country)
(We still have guns. Just more people use them for hunting and sport targets that do not involve another human being..LoL)

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 4:07:00 PM | I don't like the idea of carrying a gun "for protection" unless you are military or police of some sort. If you're going to pull it you better be prepared to use it and pay the consequenses... A woman or a man carrying a gun for "protection" would scare me.
Hunting and sport is something different to me. Although I don't know any women with guns personally so I'm not sure how I would feel about knowing it. I am a hunter and wouldn't be opposed to hunting with a lady friend that I knew and trusted. For me I guess it all comes down to who the person is and how I regard them, male or female. Whether I like the way they handle it or not.

Posted: 11/11/2006 8:02:17 PM | to dentedknight, The wording is "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" and you are correct to a certain degree, but in concerning what is meant in the particular wording of the amendment one must look at the definition of who the militia actually is, On May 9, 1792, Congress passed what became known as the Uniform Militia Act (1 Stat. 264). This law, which remained the basic militia law until the twentieth century, stated that all free, able-bodied white men, age eighteen to forty-five, were required to serve in their state militias and that they were obligated to supply themselves with the appropriate firearms and equipment" Therefore that is why this amendment does not cover those solely in the active military. As for how I would feel about a woman with a gun, Hey as long as its not hanging between her legs, I have no problem with it...Haha

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 8:50:56 PM | Honestly Guns Should not be accessable by anyone for any reason other then hunting and Police use.... Here in canada Its Min 10 years jail time if you get caught with a gun..... Only legal use of guns here in canada are for hunting and police use and even for the hunting its not easy at all to get the papers to back it up........And even when you do get the papers its illegal to have it loaded anywhere other then certain hunting areas.........
Honestly Life without guns here in canada is great.............. I can just imagian how easy it is for some drug dealer to get a gun in the USA and start shooting people for no reason, or even for kids to get guns......Compaired to here in canada where you prolly be arrested before you even get the chance to see the gun.......
Really guys are we that **** that we need guns to protect us and if you did need to use it for someone breaking in or whatever could you live with yourself after the fact that your going to hell for killing someone?

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 10:02:06 PM | | I don't care but then again, it's not an issue where I live. These days it's just not worth the trouble for somebody to keep a gun in this country unless they need it for some specific reason. Simple fact is that unless she's a cop, she's either going to have to carry around a rifle with her (not sure if that's even legal in the city) or have an illegal hand gun. In either case, I'm not interested. lol | |

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 10:35:35 PM | only 1 issue: what's her opinion of me?
if the gun is (or may) be pointing at me, I'm going to be scared. very scared. and I may or may not run away screaming for my life.
if she's responcible with the gun, and reasonable about it, then I'd have no problems with it.

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 10:39:02 PM | From personal experience.
I was in another state looking for a house of a friend.
Knocked on the door of a house, thought it was hers.
Some woman opened the door, i was tryiing to ask if this was the right house.
She pulled out a gun. She said "I have a gun".
Needless to say I left.
Women are a bit paranoid and with a gun? Dangerous in my opinion.

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 10:43:28 PM | "Honestly Guns Should not be accessable by anyone for any reason other then hunting and Police use"
--sounds eerily familiar to something Heinrich Himmler said once :"Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA - ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the State."
--What did that mentality lead to, some 60-odd years ago? This is the kind of stateist thinking that's spreading like a cancer throughout Canada.
"Honestly Life without guns here in canada is great.............. I can just imagian how easy it is for some drug dealer to get a gun in the USA and start shooting people for no reason, or even for kids to get guns......Compaired to here in canada where you prolly be arrested before you even get the chance to see the gun"
--Riiiight. You obviously don't get out much, do you? Between the shootings that go on in Toronto and Montreal, the recent string of home invasions in Laval.... I feal reeeal safe knowing that there are *NO* illegal guns on our streets
--What's more, even if the perpetrators *ARE* apprehended, our wonderful revolving-door justice system has them back out on the streets before the new ink on their rap sheets is even dry.
"Really guys are we that **** that we need guns to protect us and if you did need to use it for someone breaking in or whatever could you live with yourself after the fact that your going to hell for killing someone?"
--Let's see. If I'm in a crisis situation where I have to choose between being beaten/stabbed/shot/killed by some f*cktard that broke into my home, and shooting them to save my life, I'll choose the latter, thank you.
...And if I can find a woman that shares that sentiment, so much the better LoL

Seriously, I think a shooting date would be cool. But remember people, always use protection. You wouldn't want to damage your hearing.

| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 11:08:46 PM | | If a woman lives in an area that she feels she needs to carry a gun and she does. Well she's living in the right suburb and she should probably stay there. | |
|
| How would you feel about a WOMAN with a GUN? Posted: 11/11/2006 11:41:10 PM | As long as it's not pointed at me I don't mind! Hahahaha,.....
I am not into guns that much,... I don't think I have ever done anything that would merit concern, or worry about her turning a gun my way. Also if you are smart about who you are dating and select someone without a bunch of emotional or mental problems, then the whole gun ownership thing is a non-issue. Women or men who own guns responsibly are not really a concern of mine, even though I do not own one.
One last note. As both a historical buff/weapons maker and collector, and someone highly trained both from former military training, martial arts training, and first hand confrontational situations I can honestly say that I have weapons all over my house, on display and hidden, and while I own no guns and do not like guns, I have had 14 guns pulled or aimed at me in my life. I am still here. Most of these shooters or would be assailants were twenty feet or less from me. Trust me, there ARE ways to overcome guns and fortunately for those in the know, gun toting people ( male or female ) often fail to realize how ineffective that weapon can become in less than 2 seconds!
The gunhead "I'm powerful or invincible" attitude is an illusion. Once the distance is closed by body or a flying weapon that ends the gun confrontation.
Now on a lighter note, if a woman really wants to hurt you, trust me, most of them are far smarter than their guys! They can figure out plenty of ways to mess you up without a gun, given a need! Treat them nice and you won't ever have to find out! hahahaha,....

the second ammendment was drafted in such a way that our government could never oppress its people, which is the reason the government is slowly chipping away at it, little piece by little piece -until its worthless -and all the people are living in bondage, serving the government, instead of the government serving the people...
