@equinox and destiny..... a simple word or two of advice..... don't EVER let anyone know anything more about it..... whether it works or not..... too much "jealousy" on this site..... it seems to be the only way much to keep a relationship going in this fishbowl.... JMHO

OT - when people say "stop looking".... it means more that just go to the parties to have fun... not to "find" someone.... and just have fun being you.... make the "finding someone" secondary to just having fun with friends, etc...... then you will meet someone.... it has worked for a lot of folks I know, myself included

It's ok Pearl..he spoke too soon. There will be NO DATE. He is too hung up on his first date in the last 10 years. I can't compete when a man tells me it will be hard to do so. Who needs the pressure.

Oops I wrote too soon.
Oh well easy come easy go.

I don't think anyone needs to reveal the successes, failures or private conversations with specific active people in an open forum that's less than tactful and that goes for both of you.

Look who is circling the wagons and without hearing from the other side tisk tisk.

But since you're out here telling tails in public it may have been the silent one who has benefited by things not working out. I'm not one to believe anyone who rushes to tell his or her side first, it’s an indicator of ones lack of maturity, speak volumes to the kind of person you are on the inside as well as being in bad form and damaging to his reputation.

I think he is owed an apology.

I think he is owed an apology.

I think so too. It's very rude to repeat something told to you in private in the forums.

Ummm fellas? While I do not condone the response here, the initial poster mentioned the gals name "personally". That is not acceptable with the rules I do in fact believe. Even if it isn't, I truly believe that he jumped the gun by mentioning the fact that he had a date with her! Why could he not have simply said he had a "date" if he felt so compelled? I know I sure as heck would not be appreciative if some fellow "publicly" announced a date that I had arranged!

gotta agree with you kitkat....he should have privately emailed the guy who was questioning him rather than post in a public forum

god could you imagine if everyone started posting...I have a date with so and so..............yikes!

Announcing a date is one thing, forgive the guy for being excited about something supposedly good but revealing private conversations is another.
I don't think he told us anything about how petty she was.

But go ahead and continue to circle those wagons, she’s still owns the greater wrong of maligning his character.

Talk about a lack of integrity ladies, you ask for it in us so often now show some yourselves.
No wonder the worlds so screwed up if you don’t have integrity you can’t teach your kids about it.

I agree Kit, he should not have started it by mentioning her by name.
But I don't think he expected his personal conversations (how long since his last date) would be revealed in the forums.

It's also a disservice to regular forum posters, who now have a harder time finding a fishie. I imagine more than a few lurkers just got scared off at the thought of their personal lives showing up here if they happen to date a forum regular.

We all decide how much of our personal lives to reveal here. We have no right to reveal *any* personal information about others.

Yep she owes him an apology, but he won't get it. That would be like admitting a minor error. Not going to happen...lol.

It does bring up another interesting point however that is far more important in terms of over 40 and no fish. Destiny and Mirage both expressed that any competing on thier part is just too much like work, or possibly demeaning, and they need to feel like #1. In short, they wish to be persued, not to persue. That means they have to compete with other women that are also attracting men to persue themselves. On the other hand, if they choose not to (which is perfectly within thier rights) they loose. Period. There is NO natural occurence where those that refused to compete got any resources. None. The only exceptions are acts of charity, and I'm pretty sure that no woman wants a pity fvck for long.

So perhaps that is part of the issue? And I don't mean compete like it is some kind of Olympic marathon...LoL. I mean recognize that there IS a competition for competent and caring partners, both male and female, and then analyze your own preferences, strengths and weaknesses, and effort you are willing to put out, and get in the game!

Like they say, if you don't play, you can't win.

I never said competing was too much like work
I never said it was demeaning to compete
we all compete daily in most everything we do...........whether we recognize that competition or not....
as to your 1st point - so not true.....I have done the pursuing as well lots of times

I will agree with you that I did say she should feel like #1 and I will stand by that till the end.........dont we all want to feel like we are number one when it comes ot matters of the heart?

I was simply trying to tell her that if she felt negative in the fact that she could not compete with this gentlemans preconceived notion already of their meet....then she shuldnt worry about it..........

yikes Kit....looks like dk is my notforfun guy

First of all...I wasn't impressed that the date was announced...I tried to make light of it ..at first. Who wants everyone knowing and waiting for that date ...I received an email in my mailbox asking about it. How would you feel to have a whole dating site watching and waiting? Yes..he jumped the gun...yes..I shouldn't have said why we weren't going on the date...I do apologise for that. Moreover..he has apologised to me for the way I was treated by HIM. I didn't give ANY details about what was said. I just said that women, as a whole, don't like to be told they are second pick. This has nothing to do with the competition...it's HOW it's put to you..which I did not devulge.....

Dented, you have no idea what I said to him today because, I am NOT making THAT mistake...lol Let's just say, it's been resolved shall we?

I’m not bummed at all I couldn't give a hoot who dates whom as I have what I need at home already. I thought it was pointed out that what went on in private was nothing to be posted in the forums. As well the women would rather not have that information announced in the forums, try reading the posts with your glasses on next time firmbear. It just seems like she wasted her public apology, which I failed to mention was quite big of her to do, on someone who just doesn’t get it. He should hope the she is equally as forgiving for posting private info in a public forum this time around.

Well I can honesty say anyone that finds it upsetting that someone posted they had a possible date with someone else on here is not ready for the dating world.

Now unless maybe one of them is married then I could see that as upsetting !

As for uncle M it sure seemed like you were upset by your badgering the fellow who did post about his possible date.

Big deal so the guy was excited he had a date with the lady. And she finds this upsetting that he posted her nic name & mentioned they had a date ! Woo Man !

Thats like saying don't let anyone find out I dated you !LMAO

So was that insulting that he posted her name (Pof name)?? No I don't think so.
If anyone does then wooo ! Thats a warning sign before the date for sure!

Read the F'ing posts, all of them including the ones where the ladies are all saying they don't want it posted in the forums and I don't blame them I wouldn't want it either. When your finished with that then read my profile before you make assumptions about me looking for a date and get off your hump of a horse and wake the Fvck up.
