A study showed that people as they get older have less chances to get married...not caues they aren't a good catch, or cause they can't find a great guy or girl. Its cause they actually become happy with thier own life, adn become more picky as to who they want to be with and who they will change their life for. (younger people are more into changing for other people, and accepting things that if they were older they wouldn't accept).
as long as your ok with yourself.....who gives a rats as* about what others think. | |

Posted: 11/11/2006 4:28:09 PM | I'd rather be a single loser in the eyes of friends and family, than a winner who is probably miserable with someone he doesn't wanna be with but did it just to get those people off his back.
When I was single and younger, I had all those people chiding me about finding that "special someone" and all that jazz, and they couldn't go on enough about how happy they were not being single. These are mostly the same people that I run into or talk to from time to time that have so completely ruined their lives and are miserable beyond comprehension NOW.
So I always take the time to remind them of back in the day when they couldn't say enough about how happy they were, and how I was missing out. Missing out on what? Being with someone that I can barely tolerate now?

It is true though, a lot of people i know who have gotten married in the past few years are now starting to divorce. Lol, its either that or they are sickeningly happy and having babies. | |

what is up with people and their expectations of you? Anyone else going thru this with family or friends? Most of my friends are married or engaged or whatever and your expected to have found 'the one' by now too.
I figured my family had given up on me.... but interesting I got "Venus and Mars - Starting Over" for Christmas!!!!
It's been oh... 10 years!!!! I guess they figure it's TIME!

Posted: 12/28/2006 4:32:14 PM | My family has never given me flack about being single. My youngest brother and I are generally always single, whereas my two middle brothers are generally always with someone (one is now married, the other engaged).
My 'coupled' friends on the other hand.... generally get a good earfull each time they drop the comments.
My favorite being last year when one friend said "Wow... you're going to be thirty soon, and are still single... tick tock tick tock!!!" then starts going on about how I MUST have more children soon in order to have company for my son because it's not fair that he's an only child. He's almost 9!!! WTF! | |
