Posted: 9/19/2007 6:40:02 PM | Okay...I didn't read everyone's replies,but have been in the medical field for the past 25 years. It is NOT possible to NOT have a bowel movement,here's why:
(for those who are squeamish,sorry)
First, for the muscles involved in excretion in your colon and anal sphincter to not work,you would have had to be on heavy pain medication for an extended period of time. If the feces are then impacted and not excreted,they build up in the colon,then small and large intestines and eventually force themselves through the esophageal sphincter and go into the stomach. If they stay in the stomach for an extended period of time,the feces will dissolve into the bloodstream,circulate throughout the body and the person will become septic(an infection of the blood) and DIE.

I've done some fasting in the past, on just fruit juices and liquids and after a few days to a week maybe, you're just urinating and that's about it. But unless this chick is a yogi or something, and it doesn't sound like she is, or unless she's super-constipated...and i don't think you can be constipated "forever" without getting pretty ill, i suspect she's lying. No, correct that. I know she's lying. In fact, i think 90 percent of the other "shit" she says is pure bull"shit" also. However an easy way to tell if she is trying to hold it in for extended periods of time. I'm talking days here. Is she getting constant stomach pain and cramping? Is she bending over a lot like shes trying to catch her breath? If she doesn't seem to be having those two things she's going to the bathroom. I just realized what a freaking weird question this was.
