But we were required to check people for weapons before putting them in the car. Again, it was required, not the choice of the officer. | |

so much more now.I wont say what ham City they work for but i will say in the last 4 years ive seen exactly what Blackaces is talking about in all avenues he spoke couldn't get more true then he said it i must say.I now teach my kids to respect the law but cover your behind at all times.3 different towns I have been in. watched and herd of police acting like gangsters power tripping on teens.Why because they can get away with it .I have seen the budy system in affect on 7 formal complaints i submitted to CPP not only was my statements changed to suit the cops but every cop involved decided to trash me and my father name and lie in order to prevent them from receiving any action for there unjust and illegal actions.7 formal complaints and all came back saying their nice guys and did nothing wrong hmm there trying to tell me and others we did not see what we seen .Hmmmmmm
Again i say for the good cops out there believe me when one gets into a pinch you either stick up or get banished sooner or latter.you will see as a good cop you just might get stuck looking and fighting like me.Then i lay charges in court to a matter and their response to my complaint is read by crown not lawful at all.and as blackaces problem same as mine but nurse .They all stick together as one to cover their tracts.As stated allover the net Police investigating Police hmm I now send to Toronto for an investigation and to Minister of Justice and the ombudsman office and i will not rest till i see Justice.We need to put the force on a polygraph test then we will know the truth but wait we cant do that we might not have many cops left they might end up in Jail .That would be a shame who would look out for justice lol.Maybe the Canadians could fined a way of seeking justice in a better way like with science and technological ways which do exist and the few good cops can do there job and feel proud of it.I find most of the oldest are the best they have experience hopping there not grumpy that is .The most of the young ones are sent threw via Streamline it as our bs gov. puts it give a kid a gun is what i say.They need mandatory training not a fast shove so it looks good to the public.And all i have to do is look at the statement made to blackaces and it is clear enough something has to change soon. | |

Posted: 5/8/2007 6:59:29 AM | I have never drank in the parking lot after work. But I used to enter tickets. How can the same officers that write people open container tickets purportedly have an after work party in the parking lot, and then get in thier cars.
I am agreeing with the civilians in that extent of hypocrisy.
I know people that smoke pot, and all I ask is that they do not do it in front of me. Personally, I do not think it should be illegal, but right now it is. | |

Posted: 5/8/2007 9:02:12 AM | Many people probably "dislike" cops because they often enforce law as against civilians, or "citizens"..the very same laws breaking they would ignore if committed by a fellow cop..
can hardly count the number of times I have seen/heard about cops driving drunk, etc. but charges being dropped, the otehr cops "just happen" to "lose" evidence, etc..
cops convicted or in prsion, still collecting pay; many cases of police brutality, unprovoked attacks, the only tiem the stroy is cleared up is when somene has videotape (have seen 3 recent cases in Quebec, 4 in Toronto, ROdney King, etc.)
How many similar cases happened when no video was available, so the cop was just automatically believed?
Cop from Toronto killed his married (not to him) lover in Richmaond HIll, chopped up her body & had in his freezer, never convicted. Cops' families, sons found with drugs, driving drunk, etc. ; never charged or convicted.
OPP cop (Ken Deane) murdered Dudley George at Ipperwash (shot unarmed protester in the back from 300 meters behind a barricade)..charged with "careless discharge of a firearm" LOL :)
Son of Toronto police chief (& others) videotaped accepting bribes in downtown bar, no real consequences.

Basically bottom line: becasue there are 2 sets of laws:
1 for the average citizen
another for the "Connected": cops, judges, insiders, the rich
Particular animosity for cops I guess because while being essentially "untouchable" themselves, they seem to relish aresting and charging others; many appear to want no oversight or strenuously object to civilian oversight; "threaten" lawlessness if anyone has the temerity to review their budget..(which is the majority of most city budgets),
strong corrupted police unions, times when cops deliberately beat up suspects (6 on 1 therapy), etc. | |

the "double standard" is quite irksome!~
other similar cases, in Quebec, cops in a case of "mistaken identity" saw carpet installers who had a car similar to one used by bank robbers, went to the motel they were in, knocked on the door..When the 2 guys came close to the door to answer, opened up with machine guns through the door, killing both..
OPP near Windsor crawling through back yards at night, got lost, shot an innocent bystander.
(later all these cops were promoted to sergeant) .no disciplinary action.
too bad for those guy's familes, eh? too bad, so sad. who cares really, right?
is it less 'murder' because the killers were wearing uniforms? I guess so.. | |

I was living with a fellow; I was trying to move out, get my stuff, move on.
Everytime I went to his house, to get my crap, it was a fight.
Finally one day, I had all I could take; I just wanted my stuff and he just wanted to beat me up. I called the cops.
They showed up, SAW the bruises on me and my OBVIOUS issue here, and one said to the other, "Wanna lock him up?" Other one said "Nah. He's not worth it, she's not worth it and there's too much paperwork involved"

THIS is why I HATE COPS. Never there when you need em, always around when you don't. Tell me all cops aren't like this, and I can give you ANOTHER instance a thousand miles away and ten years later.

Posted: 5/8/2007 10:43:39 AM | I agree with you Fry lock. The police are never there when you need them. I lived in a rough area, drug dealers, fighting, occasional shooting etc.... The area had a police officer, yes ONE police officer 'on the beat' (so to speak). But he was only 'on the beat' when there was no trouble. And if (once in a blue moon) that he was there when there was trouble, he did nothing, because there was ONE of him and about 10 of the 'trouble makers'. What could he do? Nothing.
And what happened? NOTHING!!!
They give us tickets for talking on mobiles whilst driving and for breaking the speed limit. When I'm out driving, I see them doing the same. They have no respect. Yea there probably are police man out there that do want to do there job properly, but I've yet to meet one!!! | |

One Christmas eve he was waiting under the awning of a jewelry store that was CLOSED,probably cause it was Christmas eve....it was 10pm and he had just gotten off work and was waiting for the bus.It was raining so instead of waiting at the actual stop he took cover under the awning.Well,some genius creep pulls up and asks my brother why he's standing near one of the creeps stores.YES,the creep said it was HIS store!! Get this straight all you creeps,I pay taxes and so does my brother so those are OUR streets and OUR stores.WE pay YOUR salary so don't give us this crap about YOUR streets or YOUR stores!So this cop wants to know why my bro is standing under the awning of a jewelry store.My brother tells him the truth but of course the truth means nothing to you creeps so he makes my brother empty his backpack.Nothing there but his work uniform.Finally the bus arrives and the cop decides to let him go but reluctantly.This was on Christmas eve!! I could go on and on and on but I'm getting sick to my stomach with anger so I'll leave you with this.Yes you are trying to do good but alot of you are just plain thugs in uniform who don't deserve to get our respect.When you end up harassing and terrorizing the public you're SUPPOSED to be protecting,then you're no different than the 'bad guys' you say you're protecting US from. | |

First, I live in SouthEast Georgia, if thats any indication of who were dealing with, and most of the county sherriffs deptarments pay a whopping 8-9 dollars an hour, so why do such a job for crap wages? The power trip is why....
They refuse to wear seatbelts because in the event they have to hurridly exit the car, it could interfer by getting caught in their holster...ok, good point, but how can I be given a primary ticket for not wearing mine when the cop isn't?
In town, they will get right on your rear bumper and try to make you nervous and the pull you over...the give room between vehicles rules they say don't apply...
On the rural roads, they fly doing close to 100 mph just because they can, and this is State Troopers included.....don't say they on a call because I have seen them stop at lights when got into traffic or pull into stores....
I actually got a ticket once for speeding because I fell in behind a trooper and followered her for 15 miles....I also beat it in court stating I had a bad odometer and figuired the troopers equipment was calibrated and correct....or else the trooper was exceeding the speed limit also....it was dropped...
Had a dispute with a new neighbor who had ****ed up part of my yard moving stuff in and when the deputy showed up, the first words out of the neighbors mouth were, "I'm a captian with the Douglas city police department" and my complaint was b.s. then, the buddy system, even tho the evidence was there he trashed part of my yard.
If your stopped and do not consent to a search, they say they smell marijuana and either let the search, or they will call the dogs to do a walk around...however, this could take a couple hours for them to get here...
If you mess with them and say fine, when they do get there, usally in half hour, they HIT, even tho the car is clean so they search anyway...
But it's only gonna get worse..... | |

Posted: 5/9/2007 3:56:45 AM | The way I see it weed out the cops (people who pretend to be police officers), and produce more police officers(the ones who are here to protect and server), and you will get alot more citizens(for the most part law abiding people). helping police find the bad, and dangerous people(the ones pretending to be citizens). now I have met good law inforcement, and bad law enforcement. and for every 5 police officers produce out of the academy, 1 turns out to become a cop, the unfortunate thing is police officers take orders from cops, and instead of stepping up to let the cop know that what he is doing is wrong, they either help him or stand by and let the do what they do best dirty work. and with that code of silence pasted down from the very first forming of the police force, I don't belive it helps the citizens feel at ease around them, and have a hard time willing to tell police anything, in words monkey see, monkey do.
and this is a response to brooke who said "the ones who hate cops are the ones ,the cops are looking for" you are what we call in this world, some one who is very "GREEN". with your statement right there you proved to us all how simple minded you are, and how out of touch with what goes on out side of your neighborhood. so please when grown-ups are talking please just sit on the side, and only partisapate when you have somthing helpful to participate with.  | |

we always see the same thing.
I think the police forget that they work for us...its not the other way around. The only rights the police have are the ones we give them...its my opinion that we've given them
far too many rights over the years...but thats what happens when you're not paying attention and you let the government start telling you what to do.
I don't hate cops at all...I think they have a job to do...some are good at the job...others aren't. Its the same in any job situation.
and ps...us court decisions have confirmed that driving a car is a citizens right and not a government granted privilege.

most of them are average people, like you and i, but eventually the authority and power of a police officer gets to their heads, and they start to live in this dream world where others are inferior to them.
i have nothing against the police. it's good that they exist. some of them are great people doing good things for the communities in the city they work for, but a few of them really do deserve to die on duty. | |

Under the Ohio Revised Code section 4507.012 it speaks of the following: "when applied to a driver's license, means, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the withdrawal from a resident, temporary resident, or non resident of the privilege to operate a motor vehicle upon a street or highway in this state. The withdrawal of the privilege from a person causes the person to be ineligible for the privilege during the entire period of suspension or revocation and also includes any period during which the residence, temporary resident, or nonresident either has not paid any applicable driver's license reinstatement fee or has not complied with any other requirement governing license reinstatement." And this is the first thing I thought of, so I looked it up.
When I worked as a police officer, I always remembered who paid my salary. I was very fortunate to get the job (out of several candidates) to begin with, and kept it for several years until my retirement. Some officers lose sight of who they work for, to be certain, but others like myself tried very hard to give the community their money's worth. | |

They generally have to deal with the rotten part of society that most of us never have to. One small mistake and they get their butts removed and some scum gets freed.
Most I've known are great guys, some are a rectal opening. It depends on how you treat them. If you are pulled over for a ticket, then they are doing their job. (Not that I like them doing it to me! ) When I have been ticketed, I always treat them like I'd like them to treat me and have never had a problem with them. | |

So, I would love to go back in time with all of you, so I could see exactly what it was that got you where you are today. I 'm not going change your thinking, I already know that. I know that when I decide to hate something, I've pretty much made up my mind, and that's that. But, if I could go back to where you interacted with police, and see what went wrong. . . . . how the police officer or officers treated you, then at least I'd understand your intense hatred a lot better. And I would not want to change anything either. Because I'm not gonna save the world or change your mind by understanding what happened to you. I just want to know for my own curiosity. I remember when I was around 16 or 17 years old, I got stopped and ticketed for making a left turn at an intersection at the wrong time of day. (It was not allowed to make the turn after 4pm, and I made the turn at something like 405pm). The officer asked me over and over again, didn't you see me sitting here??? I honestly didn't see him. He was a motorcycle cop, and I just didn't see him. And I told him, well, if I'd have seen ya, I probably still would have made the turn, because I couldn't have known why you were sitting there like that. That was one ticket I'll never forget.
Another I got was for an accident I had at age 16 (ya, it was my fault). I dropped this really pretty young lady off at a park, and was watching her walk away from me, as I started driving away from the curb. Well, I ended up sideswiping a car that was passing me on my left, cause I was against the curb, and was . . . .well, I was watching that pretty girl!! But the worst one I ever got and I faught in court (I represented myself in that, and no I didn't get a break of any kind). I had to take pictures of the intersection where it occurred. I had to have witnesses testify in my behalf. I had to question witnesses myself. And I'll bet you're wondering why I didn't have some attorney friend handle this for me. Well, I'd investigated hundreds of accidents prior to being involved in this one, so I felt pretty comfortable in handling it in a court room. But still, it was pretty weird representing myself in a court of law, as the old saying goes, I didn't want a fool for a client. But back then I couldn't afford to hire an attorney anyway, so I figured I'd give it a shot, and I was fortunate. The thing is though, that the officer that investigated the accident, lied at the scene of the accident about his credentials (when I asked him he stated he'd been an officer for 14 years with the city of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio). He also was not as he claimed to be, an accident investigation specialist. So, when I got done with him in court, he had a brand new hatred for me! I told him at the accident scene that he was going to be in a fight with me in court, and he was smug, arrogant and discourteous to me. And I can only guess that from this, you'll be happy to learn that I got crapped on by another police officer, no respect from him whatsoever even. Yes, I really do understand why some of you hate police officers. I can tell you that the guys/ladies I trained were decent people. And I know I trained them the right way, about how to respect people and so forth. But I also know, that for every good cop that goes out on the street, his evil twin goes out there too somewhere. That's what I believe anyway. | |

Well.. I don't hate them, however I hate many of their current enforcement tactics.
Traffic enforcement is the biggest for me. I have never even come close to causing a collision, I have taken some pretty advanced driver training courses to better myself as a driver at my own expense and I care about what I do behind the wheel.
Do I speed when I feel that it is safe to do so based on my training? Maybe... do I feel violated that I am being monitored the same way as people who don't give a rat's ass about driver safety? You bet!. Am I agressive? No way. I am more than patient with other drivers who are in more of a rush than I am, or have important cell phone conversations to carry out while driving.
I do wish that cops would drop the "we are better than you" attitude when it comes to public/social responsibility. I would consider myself as a pretty trustowrthy, honest citizen, and I hate it when I fall victim to the same scrutiny as crooks and criminals. | |
