| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 8/28/2007 12:10:27 PM | Cops are awesome. Some cops are mean/bad and I don't like getting a ticket anymore than the next guy, but overall they get a thumbs-up from me.
Look at it this way: They are better than lawyers and politicians. They looks hot in uniform. They help control the surplus doughnut population. They chase bad guys. They get shot at. They sacrifice their family life. They risk their lives everyday so that you and your children can sleep in peace.

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 8/29/2007 2:20:29 AM | hey funguy.... an attitude like that is the reason we watch u. see when ur nervous or have hostile feelins towards cops...it raises our awareness of u. we can tell. u bring it on urself. ill give u an example: ur workin third shift at a gas station. a guy walks in....roams around...checkin out where all the cameras r...acts shady...jumpy...is watchin u like a hawk....arent u gonna keep ur eyes on him just to be safe? sure u r! ur not doin it cuz hes a different race than u...(havent looked at ur pro so i dont know if ur green..black...orange... white or purple...ur watchin him cuz he gave u cause. if ur tryin to do right...hey...good luck to u. i hope u make it. but to blame cops for eyeballin u...thats stupid. another example: ur walkin down the street....a man u dont know walks up and punches u dead in the face for no good reason and takes off. week later...same guy...same thing. he takes off again. week after that...u see him comin this time. hes a quarter block away from u...but u know its him. and hes walkin right at u. what r u gonna do? common sence tells u theres every possibility hes gonna deck u again and run. so u prepare urself. uve just stated uve had run ins with the law in ur past...probley recent past since ur still tryin to clean up ur act. every cop out there has a right to assume ur up to no good and watch u for awhile cuz U GAVE THEM CAUSE! they didnt invent it. they didnt pick u out of a bunch and label u...u messed up ur own record and made a name for urself as bein a felon by breakin a law or laws. and i have very lil sympathy for u. werent u the same guy who got on a grandmothers case for askin for prayers for her possibly terminal 5 yr old grandchild? its all in who u r. and ur character is not a good one. u have sympathy only for urself. maybe if u make it...and stop ur whinin...and become a man....and gain sum compassion for others...ull realize ppl will be more apt to give u a chance...and stop thinkin bad of u. until than...u ask for it...every lil bit of it. racist? u bet im racist...against ppl like u...ppl that can read about a small child and feel nuthin...yet make ugly statements about that childs situation. u wont make it in life....not until u realize the world doesnt revolve around u. and that everyone in the world isnt out to get u...but maybe its u thats out to get everyone. and u wont make it cuz instead of bein a man..and takin responsibilty...u get out that crutch and blame everyone else for what uve done in ur life or havent done. pig? yea..im a pig. id rather be a pig and have u hate me...than be in ur class of ppl. compared to u...im proud to say im a pig. if u clean up ur act...cool. than uve proved me wrong. and ill say im wrong. but judgin u by ur words...and ur attitude on life and those u come into contact with....im not wrong. im 110% right. | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 8/29/2007 3:36:15 AM | Our City is now the 4th poorest city in the US today. Last year we were first. Now, Detroit is again ahead of us. We have some Federally Funded money that I am capitalizing on called Weed & Seed (High crime and drug areas). Some citizens have owned their houses for fifty years or more, and watched everything in their neighborhoods go to H*LL in a handbasket. I got flagged down in a Weed & Seed area during my regular shift. The man reported to me that copper plumbing had been stolen from numerous vacant structures around us, and that he has lived there for 7 months. He was asking me what he could do. There are two answers: Get a large dog or MOVE! Regarding a dog though, spay and neueter, give affection, always provide clean, potable water, give affection, give obedience training, register, keep up-to-date on their shots, treat for fleas and heartworm, and feed, or do not get one! A dog will be as expensive as an alarm system, but much more effective. I have heard about shelters renting out dogs (for funds to take care of theiir animals) at construction sites, etal. If the shelter dropped off the dog at night and picked it up when crews arrived, I would support that. If you were to get a cheap dog and then dump it once your property is finished, I might have some issues. That has nothing to do with this post, but it does have to do with LEO experience. Most of the crimes we handle are people being the Victims of their own bad choices. Back to the Weed&Seed: Drug addicts and prostitutes walk up and down this area like zombies all night long. It is a very sad life that they lead. We drive around, and when we find probable cause, we check them out and run them for warrants. Why is someone trolling around a high drug area at 4 or 5 in the morning with glassy eyes up and down the street all night long unless they are working or trying to buy something. We do wait for probable cause, but if you give it to us we will use it to investigate you further, and bcause of your warrants and your fresh offenses you wind up in jail taking care of business. Certainly, they people screwing up hate cops because the cops take them to jail. The people that have children that want the people speeding on their residential streets love the police that respond and address their troubles. The people that complain about the abanonded stolen cars, the juvenile gangs, the drugs and prostitution in front of their homes, they love us. Nobdy likes getting a ticket. The easy answer to that is to not break traffic laws. Regarding Patrol Sgt and myself to one commenter, though we argued, most of what we had to share should have shed some liight into the intricacies of law enforcement and that there is room for debate on certain issues. A subsequent poster noted that, but her name is not present for me on this screen. ***I have noticed a distinct difference in attitude between many Canadians and people from the United States*** Let's just say that I am glad not to live in a Welfare Society that seems to let everyone go, and taxes the heck out of the working people to joyfully pay for all of the liabilites upon Society! | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/14/2007 9:49:05 AM | Okay...I have to be ornery here before I am serious. I love cops. They look good in their uniforms! Love a man in a blue uniform. Now to be serious. I think policemen have a very hard, life threatening job to do. They work under a lot of stress. Yes it seems to us that a lot of times things are not done right by them. But stop, look and listen. They put their lives on the line. Many have died and we should respect them. Even if we get a ticket or whatever. They are like the rest of us. They are human they make mistakes. Has anyone worked a stressful job ? I've worked in the Operating Room all of my life. Is any different then being a policeman? Somewhat. We still have people's lives in our hands. Lets thank the guy's in blue. Think before you say bad things about anyone. God Bless policemen everywhere! Good job boys....just remember to think, don't manhandle people, do the right thing!
(of course I will probably get crucified for my statement....go ahead, I have the right to my opinion!)

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/14/2007 11:11:15 AM | | I have many friends that are cops and wonder daily if they will make it home to their families or be called out on that life altering emergency. Officers of the law are under-paid and not appreciated. Keep up the good job ladies and gentlemen. The world is a safer place thanks to you. | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/14/2007 11:44:35 AM | ^ ^^ waaah, waaah, waaaaaaaaaaaah
the old 'lives on the line' B.S. once again.
read some statistics for a change?
there are many jobs far more dangerous than being a cop..
search & rescue tech, miner, construction worker, etc..
if it's too dangerous and 'stressful' for ya Binky, QUIT
other jobs might not let you retire after 25 years with full pension & benefits though, so keep that in mind..

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/14/2007 1:36:34 PM | | I have a question for the cops on here, something ive been wondering. I know used to if you went across state lines the cops from one state couldnt follow you into the other if they were chasing you. Does that still apply in this day and age? Or will they just radio the cops in the next state to tell them about you? | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/14/2007 5:10:41 PM | Recently, one of our Cleveland Police Officers got indicted for running an international cocaine ring. Five Summit County officers got indicted for prisoner brutality. I hold no sympathy for dirty cops, and they are part of the reason that so many people mistrust cops. Meanwhile, two of our officers remain in the hospital since August 24, after chasing after a man that was high on PCP and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. Neither of them are dirty, and in the process of trying to get him to pull over, both of them were nearly killed and an innocent pedestrian was seriously injured. In fairness, he could have injured more than one motorist, the way he was driving. When he got to jail, he punched a Sergeant and fought with guards, and once his buzz wore off, rumor has it that he tried to commit suicide. I do not like the concept of dirty cops, and I believe they are worse than the criminals, but I stick to my notion that they are in the minority. I know of two men that are afraid of their own shadows and the streets, that have no business on this job. Yet, they have landed cushy paperwork jobs where their only danger is risking a papercut. There are many more female officers like that, and some that sleep their way around into a cushy position. A woman, not a cop, who was making +$80,000 just got a $56,000 severance package for quitting her job in the face of making sexual harassment charges against the City Council President. If her claims were bogus, do you think they would have agreed to give her all of that money "to give her time to find a new job?" Corruption can be found under any stone. It is just worse when you are dealing with a group of people with badges and guns and arrest authority. I hate domestic situations when the children are traumatized when the blue badges show up, because they have seen Mom or Dad taken away in the past. I always try to stress to the parents that what they are putting the children through is so unfair to the children. There are also situations of Domestic Violence involving police officers, where the officer committing the violence has at least the sense to leave before the police arrive. When the police arrive, they make a named suspect report, and the victims do not follow through with the prosecutor, like most victims of DV, so nothing comes of it. Last week on my way home from work, a pretty twenty-two year-old walked into a gas station store bare-footed wearing only nylon bikini underwear and a bustier style bra. My experience suggests to me that she was soliciting, but I cannot prove it. I was still in full uniform with a jersey over my patches. I informed her that she cannot enter a store that sells food items barefooted, and it violates health codes, as I identified myself as a police officer. This is not to mention that she walked up and down the aisle without picking anything up but bending over a couple of times, state that the only reason she stopped in the store was to buy cigarettes which are at the front counter, and she had two full packs of cigs in her vehicle. She snarled at me that she did not know that it was against the law, and that nothing about her attire was indecent. I understand the men not taking offense because she was an attractive girl. Outside, I took off my jersey and asked her for her ID. She refused and told me thaat she did not have to give me her ID while she stood there barefooted and in underwear in a public place. I called a boss who responded to the scene, and I let him make the call. When she finally did produce ID, she was driving without a license, and when they got her to jail, it turned into a felony arrest because she had cocaine in her purse. I got ridiculed by my male peers for addressing this situation and for making an arrest. I learned the following day that she has come into the store at two in the afternoon in the same attire. Believe it or not, as much as my job fatigues me, I really do care about making my community a better and safer place.I have heard stories and legends of dirtiness about many cops. Sadly, those seem to be the ones that rise to the top along with the policians. I cannot say everyone, but in a large department, the ones that remain on Basic Patrol in a zone car, after a decade or more, are either honest or they are making a ton of money on traffic citations. There are a lot of honest and sincere and dedicated Police out there, and there are some criminals with badges. There are some lazy cops that do the minimum (show up for work) and do half-azzed reports. We should be held to a higher standard, and I hold myself to that higher standard. I don't see the dirty stuff so I cannot report anybody for being dirty if I wanted to! On that note, my blood pressure gets higher every year from the stresses of the job, but I am still not yet gray because I have a clean conscience. I still belive that there are more good cops than bad cops, but it really sucks if you have to deal with a selfish, self-centered, non-caring, lazy cop. The other day, I had to do a missing person/juvenile/habitual report for a seventeen year-old girl that ran away from a social services agency. She has a 28 year-old pimp. The cops that found her assaulted by her pimp did not do a report for the assault, and did not report her unmissing from the previous missing report. She was dropped off at the hospital. When I got the call for her being returned to the social services facility, I could have blown off the report because she was "still" missing since the officers that found her never did a call-off report. Instead, I called Sex Crimes, and they said if she was turning tricks on her own without any force, they would not investigate.. Thus, I wrote a lengthier report and forwarded it to that District's Vice Unit, relative to drugs and prostitution and pimping. I am pretty certain that they blew it off, but I did my job, and did it the best I could. If I see children walking to school I watch out for them. I want our seniors to feel safe to walk to the store or sit on their porches. I don't want our children to see drug dealers, dope fiends and prostitutes hanging out on the corners, whether I am on or off duty. I have developed some networks between a councilperson and some higher-ups. As such, I am most valuable as a grunt because I am a connection between the community and the people making all of the money, to make my little portion of the community a better place.. I cannot control other people, places and things. God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change (e.g., that not everyone is genuine, honest and sincere, and doesn't have their own agendas); The Courage to change the things I can (e.g., be honest, genuine, and sincere, and not be afraid to try to take back our streets, and confont the thugs) And the Wisdom to know the difference (e.g., To walk into a losing battle and get myself killed does nobocy any good~~and I have a dog to come home to! I utililze the wisom of assessing the circumstances, listening to my inner voice and calling for back-up when I see something dangerous and wrong.) I am thanked by citizens on the street all of the time. That alone largely keeps me motivated. I cannot speak for all cops, only myslef, but I will always do the best I can to help you. I actively seek out resources and keep a file at home. I do not have a poker face and have a low threshold for Stupidity. The one time I handled a cop's wife that had been beaten, I urged her to press forward with charges and wrote a thorough report. She never followed up. I understand people thinking that cops are sort of a legal mafia, but that is not all of us, and I would hope to think that it is the minority. | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/14/2007 10:38:14 PM | Darkjedi1- I'm pretty sure that all the states now allow a cop from another state to continue the pursuit into the next state. I'm sure they have already sent out the info on the radio to get the next state ready. Plus, they want to be there to bring the person down because now this offender is going to have charges from both states.
Here's a funny little thing I saw a couple years ago in the middle of the night. I was making a run down I81 south, I was almost to Tennessee and I passed a State Pig running radar. No biggy to me. A couple minutes later I saw a "black car" pass me like I was going backwards, I mean this cars taillights disapeared. A couple seconds later the State Bacon went by me faster than you could say, Holy pig shit Batman! I'm saying to my buddy, the guy's runnin' for the state line! This I gotta see!
So then I kick my car upto 90mph, still can't see shit, so I goto 110mph and hold it there. A few seconds later when I pass an onramp another one of Virginias finest smoked bacon, blasts by me. Now I see flashing lights and the state line, and I see a ton of Tennessee pigs making a uturn through the median. AHA! I am almost there! I back off when I see a sea of flashing lights and a black car on the shoulder of the road. So now I really slow down, I mean hey this is a free show.
When I passed the "incident" I saw the Pigletts from both states swinging sticks on three black dudes harder than a Mexican midget at a Pinada party. I mean, these cops were just kicking the dog shit out of these dudes. Maybe they were just testing the breaking point of their "batons", who knows. At this point I'm just barely moving, I'm just looking at the spectical and thinking, holy shit! This shit is really happening! About that time a Tennessee bacon layer looks over and yells "get the fluck outa here!" So I give them the "thumbs up" like I agree with them, and kick it on down the road.
So after witnessing that, I am fairly certain that a cop from one state can enter another state while in pursuit of a "criminal".
Oh yea, I almost forgot. This is a cops suck ass, thread. I do not have a complete disgust for cops because of this instance but because I have seen and heard too much from people I know that actually are cops. They are a disgusting, non professional breed of a blue collar worker, who is brainwashed into believing they are doing something noble.
Actually by saying that they are a blue collar worker is an insult to the real blue collar workers out there. Most of them are nothing more than the lowest form of the government revenue department.
I love how they always use that same old comment about how if you don't like the cops then you must have been on the wrong side of the law and therfore you hate cops. Yea like it's only the lawbreakers who hate the police. Their minds just cannot phathom the notion that some people just don't like cops because they have seen cops do things that are just completely unethical, illegal, and outright abuse of power, but yet it's supposed to be A'ok just because they are cops. Thats just bullshit.
To listen to them whine about how hard their job is, or listen to them whine about how everbody loves firefighters but hates cops and how the firefighters and medics get paid the same. Blah blah blah, GET OVER IT! You CHOSE the thankless job of being a cop. You don't have to be a cop tomorrow if you don't want to. But, you never here them beeotch even one time about the perks of the job.
F'em all! | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/16/2007 5:28:41 PM | | Even good cops are spoil sports who ruin other peoples' fun. Bad cops: beat, rape, steal from, frame, and murder, people while spoiling fun. It is not hard to figure out why cops are so hated. Still, good cops do what we need done, and they are paid to do, so they deserve some respect...which they won't get from about 87% of people. | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/16/2007 5:31:49 PM | | You know wrong. Cops can chase you across state lines if you run across the line while being chased. It's called 'hot persuit'. They will also radio the other states' cops to be looking for you. Between them, they will get you sooner or later. | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/16/2007 10:16:19 PM | | i do not dislike cops as a whole. the town i used to live in left alot to be desired when it comes to their police force. i watched a cop one day pull a driver over and write them a ticket but let a drug deal go on right beside where the police officer sat and the police officer did nothing about the people doing the drug deal. i know for a fact of these police letting drug dealers and addicts go free of charges in return for turning other addicts in. this only gave the person working for the police more connections to buy and sell drugs. i know for a fact that the charges against the dealers and addicts were completly dropped when the people got sick or something happened to them from drug use. i know for a fact even with alot of information on drug dealers and addicts they were still never arrested and charged. i know for a fact that it was true that as long as you did not break any traffic laws you would never get arrested for drugs that you sold or bought. i know these things for a fact because my ex-husband was a drug dealer and addict and eventually died at the age of 45 due to drugs. that was why he became my ex-husband because i had enough of the insanity that went on in that town. where i live now they have done more drug arrests and raids in 6 months than the town where i used to live when i was married did in 11 years. | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/18/2007 11:36:05 AM | Hello, I think its awful on what happen to the young man in Florida when he tried to ask John Kerry a question only to be taken out of the room by four policemen and women. They should not had hurt him. He wasnt doing anything wrong. All he wanted to do was ask a question and they removed him before John Kerry answered. My heart goes out to the young man. I hope they have a huge protests, the police were wrong.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are your feelings on this? Pat | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/21/2007 1:34:50 PM | It happen again only this time in Warren, Ohio. A young woman was taser by a cop over and over, not sure why the more she screamed the more he did it. He would not stopped. When she was placed in the police car she kicked out the window only to be taser again. Cops are taser happy, it gives them power over the victim they are attacking. Wish i knew more about what happen to her. Does anyone know? Pat | |
|
| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/21/2007 1:49:02 PM | I believe that tasers are a valuable tool on the force continuum, but also that they can be overused. Regearding having to deal with a person that refers to us as Pigs. Piglettes, and Smoked Bacon, I sense we are dealing with a "No Person" before we even get out of the police car. Perhaps I am an anomaly in the police world? There are many people with whom I work that I would never otherwise interact, and a select few that I genuinely like. I generally choose not to interact with those of whom I am leery or for whom I have distaste, but if I choose to think of you as a friend, then I am your friend until the end, or until you give me reason to think otherwise. Often, I go to one of two restaurants and sit down there while I complete my reports. One time, a server came up to me to alert me of a hit-skip accident. On private property, one is not required to complete a state accident form, which has the potential to raise both parties' insurance rates. I chose to mediate, since a witness got the license plate (and there was very minor damage), and all the kid wanted was his car fixed, that he had owned for all of five hours before work. By running the plate, I went around the corner and spoke with the driver. In the real world, even if it is adjudicated in court and the driver is cited and convicted, it doesn't guarantee that the kid will be taken care of. I spoke with the driver, and he insisted that he was going to take care of the minor damage he had caused. I returned to the victim, and gave him the other party's information, and told him that if this man failed to take responsibility, to call me on my cell phone. Ultimately, he called me back. I called the driver back. I told him that if I made an accident report then I would also be sending him a summons for leaving the scene of an accident, etal, because I had saved all of the information. I got two calls yesterday. One from the victim saying, "Thank you!" and the other from the suspect (afterwards) telling me he did the right thing. A lot of people might not approve of my handling of this situation. Our courtrooms our cluttered, our jails are housed to overcapacity, and a traffic conviction doesn't guarantee restitution to the victim. Had I wrote the driver tickets, I would have probably gotten court time via court, silly me, but the young man would not have necessarily gotten his car repaired. Last night, I stopped at one of two restaurants that I frequent. I wasn't there to eat but just to stretch my legs. While talking to the night manager and a friend, I was approached by a patron. This restaurant has off-duty security on FRI/SAT, but not on other nights, though they are 24-hours. This 21 year-old gal was nearly in tears. She asked if I could address another patron who was making her feel uncomfortable. He was blatantly ogling at her breasts for about 20 minutes, to where she finally zipped up her jacket (and her appearance was modest). With that being her only complaint, there was little I could do. Staring at a woman's chest isn't criminal. She ventured into the things he was saying, that he would like to take her to bed, and so forth. While she was talking to me, he approached and the young lady nearly jumped out of her skin! I told him to step away. While offensive, we have to walk a legal tightrope relative to free speech, and so on. She asked if I could at least address his behavior, which I said I would. Then, an African American gentleman who was dining on the other side of the suspect (there were three tables) appraoched me and stated that he wasn't going to say anything until the girl did, but the same male had addressed to him the statement, "The only good thing to do with N*GGERS in jail is to kill them all!" That was enough for me to have probable cause to arrest him. I just needed the extra edge. Lewd comments, racist comments, disturbing ALL of the customers, now I had my probable cause. Theor waitress confirmed all of the above, after the fact, after he was arrested. I approached him and told him that he had to leave, and that in the future he needed to find another place at which to dine. He was very nonchalant and belligerent about leaving, and then he attempted to skip out on his check. At that point, I had already asked for backup and informed him that he was going to jail. As a courtesy to the other dining patrons, I followed him outside, rather than to effect the arrest in the dining area. Two other officers had arrived as we walked outside, and when I pulled out my handcuffs, the male tried to bolt but was taken down by one of the other officers. He was fighting, and it took the three of us to handcuff him without injuring him. The girls that had been the victims of his lewd comments were grateful. The man that had been the recipient of the racial slur was grateful. Some poeple in the area joke because everyone seems to know me. The drug dealers and prostitutes vanish before I have a chance to turn the car around. I listen to neighborhood concerns and try to pass them along, but everywhere is so bad, and the amount of cars are so few. I am not trying to toot my own horn, but just tell my side of the story, too. I was counting on my fingers, and off the top of my head, I can mention at least a dozen officers out of 1500 that I know are honest, and probably more if I put my mind to it. I understand that by the numbers, I am at a statistical disadvantage, but at least I am being honest about it, and I do not know all 1500 officers, either! | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/21/2007 2:02:18 PM | arrogant ones like Richard Wills, Toronto cop who murdered his married lover, then stuffed her in a 60-gal. green plastic garbage can, hid her behind a false wall in his garage, and tried to get investing York Region cops to go after her (obviously innocent) husband for the murder..
could turn many people off! !?! ?

he is so arrogant he over-rrides his own lawyers, rambles on endlessly..appears to think that if he smiles a lot he can "charm" the jury into acquitting him..
he rambles on with tales about how he 'helped so many kids' during his 23 years as a cop..all of them in the Traffic Division..didn't exactly "charge" his way up the ranks, through the Dept., it appears..?
The fact that Wills put Linda's body into that garbage can head first (so she would be upside down), only supports my earlier contention that he had no concern about her burial wishes.
Allegedly, the claim by the defence is that Linda Mariani fell down the stairs while she was in a state of anger.
Although one doesn't necessarily rule out the other, this does seem to be in condradiction of the earlier claim that she fell while reaching for a Valentine's Day gift. If she was so angry, why would she be reaching for a gift from Wills?
Part of the police investigation was to look into the purchase of the 60 gallon garbage can, the tarp, bolts and caulking that was used to seal up Linda's body. They found that the materials, except for the garbage can, were purchased on Wills' credit card, but that the garbage can was purchased with cash only one minute later at the same cash register.
Again, this material was purchased before Linda's death. If Wills was purchasing these things for a purpose other than to hide a body, then he would have needed to purchase these things again later. There's no evidence that he did that.
Between rolling his eyes at the testimony of Inspector Tatz, telling his lawyer what to say, insisting on specific questions that don't seem to be going anywhere logical, his claims of caring about Linda Mariani's after-death wishes even though he dumped her head first in a garbage can, and his repeated attempts during the police investigation to implicate Mariani's husband, Richard Wills' appears to think he's smarter than everyone else.
no doubt! most cops DO seem to learn an ARROGANT ATTITUDE, if nothing else!!

Lighten up. Or leave, if you think that, of the WORLD WIDE membership on this site, only 25% of the fish here are NOT employed by their government.
I don't hate good cops. But I despise the dirty ones and the thugs-in-uniform. They may be a minority (I'm willing to concede that point for the sake of argument) but they are a HIGHLY VISIBLE minority. Squeaky wheels get the attention.

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/22/2007 9:37:07 AM | My experience is this.... I went to school with a few men that decided to be Police Officers and know a few that were killed on duty. Cops were nice enough to follow me home after working the bar life... and I mean followed me to my apt. and sat in the lot and chatted for a little bit. What you get is what you give. -Terrie | |

| Why do so many people seem to hate cops? Posted: 9/22/2007 9:40:01 AM | ^^ Yes, I 'm sure they are a bit nicer to women!!
(esp. any semi-attractive or better..
in the hopes of "getting some" ??)
than they are to men..
with men the macho testosterone dominance bully-thing can kick in..
yes, yes, we hear about the cops that die on duty..includes those who have heart attacks from being fat & out of shape as well.
statistically it is MORE dangerous to work construction, be a miner, a SARtech, etc., etc.
I know construction workers who have died on the job too... what does that prove?
why do people KEEP ON saying that?
because a cop "can" die on the job, they should be given 'carte blanche' to do whatever they want, and no-one should EVER 'question' their actions??
well, self-selection occurs; the school-yard bullies often become piglets so they can legally use violence agsinst people..
take out their sexual frustrations because they are too fat for any woman to 'want' them sexually, by laying a beating, or taser, pepper-spray, or shooting, on someone..

If you like cops your allowed to have an opinion..If you don't like cops you'll get totally harrassed here just like they harrass you in real life...Why do cops hate cilivans? that question was never answered..
