If you are looking for a quick hook-up... a muscular physique would be appealing to a lot of women. When it comes to settling down, and entering into a long-term relationship... you must realize, looks do not last forever. It doesn't matter what your body looks like, because in ten-twenty years... things start changing. *laughs* Age wrinkles skin - due to lack of collagen, and parts begin to sag. (Unless you are prepared to jump on the botox and 'lift' procedures.) An average looking man tells me he is more focused on his mind than his physical appearance today or tomorrow. Nothing too terribly extreme please, there are so many more important things in life and love. Long term... I believe it is more about mentality. | |

I am personally not turned on by muscular or skinny men, but if the guy has a great personality, the build is immaterial. (I can always fatten him up later!) To average out specifics...5'11" and up ...200lbs and up ...NOT obese... does not have to be solid muscle (I like padding great for snuggling).

Posted: 5/13/2006 7:01:59 PM | sister....say that again in 20 yrs........when you are older.........and realise.........that not everybody sags.............until they are very old have you ever thought that wanting a guy who is in good shape now.........could be a way of looking towards the future?? that that person in shape won't be the one sagging..........because they care about their health? I'm turning 39; don't need botox............ and don't think i will anytime soon..........
i want someone who won't be sagging until they are so old.........they can't lift a dumb bell: or run around the block
i guess this only makes sense to people...who work out, and exercise; and won't stop. | |

Also depends on if each woman has dated a muscular guy. Most times if one has, she will want that and prefer that all the time. I find that most women as they have gotten older either want a guy muscular or really attractive looking because she has had that and liked what came with it being the attention and how people looked at her in a really good light and praised and complimented her for having such a great looking or really built boyfriend. | |

The muscular guy will have chickens following him, looking for some crumbs from his granola or power bar......
the skinny guy will have chickens following him because they think he's a tall version of them....
the fat guy will have chickens following him hoping that he'll drop a French fry or leave behind some donut crumbs......
Moral of the story, chickens like 'em all!!!!! Until they get eaten by any one of the above guys. Heck they probably don't realize we steal their potential offspring so we can have a breakfast of scrambled eggs!!!

if your fat and rich, they will like you, fat and poor, dont even bother.
rich and skinny, thats the ideal man. poor and skinny, they screw the skinny guy while taking money from the fat rich guy.
and if your ugly and own a house, as long as you put their name on that house or just give it to them, they will "like" you. | |

I would not turn someone away that had a few extra pounds but there is a HUGE difference between being 20-30lbs from your ideal and being completely obese. I've dated all 3 types, the fat man<----- which I don't like the term, we kind warm and gentle souls.
Skinny men <------ the same but think less of men that are not in shape as being slim.
muscular men<-------- the same but, think that their so hot and flaunt themselfs thinking all that.
Yes before you say a rude or responce back, there all good and bad.
But all that matters is what's in your heart, not your outside appearance!!!!!!! | |

However, you want to know if we had a body type preference...Not too often, but I have had the chance to date guys who were muscular (not body building types, but just enough) with a bit of a tummy....that was perfect for cuddling, but somehow I seem to magnet with the thin, muscular ones instead??? Like I said though...nothing matters without a great personality!

When did this all change? I never see it this way. I see pretty women dating hot guys and average women dating hot guys.
Most guys that are single are either average looking or unattractive.
I guess where you live it is different. Toronto forget it, i rarely see average looking or unattractive looking guys with really good looking women.

As I said "I think"...meaning that was my thought, and I do see it quite often where I live.....I also didn't say "all" women feel equal to my beliefs, just as not all women feel to yours. You've made some justifiable points which I'm not arguing for some woman...but you may have missed my point.
This is my opinion....and you have yours, which for different people, we may both be correct.
In all, it's too bad for those woman (and men) who cannot look beyond the outside to perhaps see something wonderful within, as they could be missing out on something special that the eyes cannot see, but can truely be felt by the heart. | |

When I was younger, I was with an "average" looking guy...he was great. In that time, (at different times) 2 very good looking guys who had never known rejection tried...they then learned rejection.
Both women and men are tempted.
Both women and men cheat
Both unattractive or attractive men and woman cheat and are tempted.
Not all women and men cheat, and not all will follow through with there temptation, decpite there looks.
I've never cheated...So can't explain the reasoning why a woman does? I think this would be under another category than looks. Again, that's just my opinion. | |
