Posted: 5/18/2006 3:04:51 AM | this will blow some of your theories away. years agao i had a job at a high school witch have full gyms (pool, weight room, basketball courts). now i have always been a fat guys, it will never change, i think i was around 250 lbs. an i was benching my wieght. i would swim and run the basket ball court all the time. keep in mind i am still fat. i was able to out run the little skinny guys, i had people try to do bench press competition with me, and to some of your amazments, the littel skinny and all the muscular guys couldnt hang with 20 reps at 250 lbs. ive sqated 600 lbs. i was doing curls at 150 lbs. keep in mind i am fat. during that time frame i went to alot of concerts and it took at one show 10 skinny muscular guys to take me down. ive gotten in the pit and dominated and injured alot of people, ive taken the little skinny guys who thought cause i was big and fat was weak, ive picked them up and threw many of them on the stage. many crowed sufers got concussions .
now im not in as good shape as i was and smoke more than a chimney (was a non smoker at that time), i can still run a good 100 ft before i get tired (yes i do that at work here and their to catch vandals), dominated a pit at a kreator show for close to 2 hours. hell i lift trash cans every day that weigh 75-150 lbs. i had a co-worker who was a health nut the exercised all the time, ate all the right foods, and he could never keep up with me at work. and guess what im a fat guy. so keep saying fat people are weak and slow and cant run, one day you will run in to one who will put you in your place. | |

1) Muscular...but not too muscular that the guy will crush me into a pancake in bed 
2) skinny. It's okay, but there are plenty of guys who are thin BUT CARRIES THEMSELVES VERY WELL. The way guys carry themselves matters, and I didn't mention this factor in 1) since muscular guys naturally seem to carry themselves fairly well.
3) fat guys. Overweight is fine, but I'm usually not attracted to fat guys, but there are exceptional cases where a receptionist clerk is incredibly humorous and charming, that I just about didn't notice his weight. I like him :)
Again, not so fat that the guy will crush me in bed. | |

Might I offer the truth might be closer to the ONLY thing YOU realized was in common is that they have all been male? It's a tricky difference and one we are ALL subject to. I can as an observer assess acurately 97% of the time personality traits that make the individual its what I was trained for. However take me out of the observer and put me in as participant and i am as like as not to make a critical error in the assesment. My point? Likely because of who you are they had more in common then just being male something else you perhaps trigger on as attractive, perhaps not but something more then just male.
As for switching teams *shrug* that was no where implied in my logic. My logic advised only that your sampling indicated it was too narrow. You have now said it was broader so perhaps that logic was mistaken...perhaps. | |

Posted: 5/22/2006 11:52:17 AM | I have been attracted to men from each of the aforementioned "categories." (Although, I think you could find a better descriptive than "fat"). I believe that handsome men come in all shapes and sizes. After all, how one carries onself is much more important than size.
What keeps my attention, however, is a man who is more than another handsome face. A gentleman who is intelligent and witty is more likely to appeal to me over time. | |

Posted: 5/22/2006 12:32:15 PM | ROFL.... attack?? Force her??? Dear Lady, I hardly know her I have no motivation at all to attack or force her or for that matter anyone else to being attracted to me. Nor was it my intention in any way. What I do do, have done, and will do is challenge the false beliefs and motivations that keep people from having a chance for happiness.
I have no problem with women who like muscular/athletic men. I have a problem with women who like muscular/athletic men to the preclusion of the personality flaw of being a mass murderer. Now obviously I am being playful there but the point remains if all you worry about in who you date is what they look like you are in for a world of misery. I realize people will continue to defend and clutch to their beliefs but if I can manage to get through to but one person they can find the right person for them without just looking at their body. Then I have done some good. Now if you want to say your method of just looking at muscular/athletic men has lead you to a life of contentment and intellectual fullfillment by all means have the stage.
As for strikes against me LOL I can be in that category and I likely for health reasons should pursue being in it again. However anyone who would accept me as muscular/athletic but not as I am now, I would not accept ever.
Looks are fleeting, weight changes. However boring, stupid, shallow, and vicious are forever and not what i want. | |

Posted: 5/22/2006 1:21:40 PM | Everyone has their own ideas and what attracts them. I like to keep in shape, with a couple of extra pounds (fit/muscular), that is what attracts me to a mans body type. This is a first impression thing, after that it is the man inside that counts the most.
When a man that is good looking and has a great body, he is usually very stuck on himself. Sad but true! Women are like this too but not to the extent that a man is. When a man thinks he is very attractive to the opposite sex, he usually assumes he deserves better.
So would the answer to your question be, maybe that you are in better shape you are a different person and more selective? Do you come across like you could get any woman because you are more attractive? So why would a woman want to be with you if you are going to dump her anyway! Women are less picky over a man's looks than men are over how he feels about a woman's body shape or looks.
These are my thoughts on this subject.

Posted: 5/22/2006 1:23:26 PM | | I tend to just go with who I am attracted to - sometimes its more about the personality, sometimes its the intelligence, sense of humor, etc etc. But if I am gonna be interested, I have to be attracted of course, or it doesn't work. I can't say across the board what attracts me tho. I guess I do like someone who takes care of themselves and is in shape - but not extremely muscular. I am not generally attracted to heavy men, or men that are too thin. That's just me. But basically if I meet someone and there's an attraction, I will see where it goes. | |

Posted: 5/22/2006 4:02:19 PM | It seems like some of the individuals in this Forum are assuming that a man who has a muscular/athletic build cannot ALSO have a great personality and be a caring individual. I have male friends who possess both. Conversely, being overweight, or having a less than ideal body, does not automatically mean that the individual is a nice person. To think otherwise is kidding yourself. Good people come in all shapes and sizes, as do people with less than desirable character traits. You cannot make accurate assumptions about personality based exclusively on outward appearances.
As with similar Forums, it all comes down to a matter of personal preference. As my grandmother used to say: "whatever floats your boat." It would be unreasonable to assume that everyone you are attracted to shares your interest. Find someone who does.
There is no sense in becoming aggressive towards someone based on his/her personal preferences. We ALL have preferences. I am not too ashamed to admit that I do as well. | |

I don't see anyone trying to change minds. Just offer another viewpoint.
Girls that are only into muscle men aren't reasoned with well.
Muscles=huge ego with most. Men AND women.
To the post below me:
Who said fatties are only allowed to express preferences?
Anyone has every reason to discuss their likes and dislikes and be ready for those that are offended or see it a different way.
Trust me, I doubt anyone that has some pudge is going to be all sad and hurt when women with bulging biceps call them names.
Oh no! I'm fat! I should hide!
And I DON'T date muscleheads, that doesn't mean I can't talk about them. | |
