| examples of messages that are lame and turn me off Posted: 12/14/2005 4:36:59 PM | i'm not sutre if this qualifies, but i am guilty of writing the odd vague email to an interest- usually those females who post an awesome pic on their profile, and live close by- but unnacountably don't give any details about themselves.
so, pls. excuse the occ. "hi; you're cute" email- if you are the recipient of such, likely i'm fishing for more info.
in fact, sometimes i'll even suggest "nice pic....now, what can you tell me about yourself?"
otoh- it may be that there isn't much there to begin with, an such a suggestion may well go over the intended recipient's head....?
but it must be said that i too often find myslef at a loss for words; such as when i encounter those who DO post rather descriptive profiles, and I so want to email them- but find that responding to that which triggered an interest in their profile, is too personal for a "first contact" email....at least for myself. so, in such a situation I am the one who becomes vague, while trying to show interest....and dither about trying to capture some stranger's imagination.
btw- i am amazed at how many cold-call emails i get from women on this site; most are very interesting and i would love to meet offline for friendship/dating, or just hang out- but there are a couple who have scared me (as much as i appreciate aggressive females.....there ARE limits!)

| examples of messages that are lame and turn me off Posted: 12/21/2005 11:14:36 AM | i don't know how exactly (maybe b/c Michaelann and I used the same public computer at the library, and the server didn't log her off this site when her time had passed?), but the last post of "Michaelann's" was authored by me.
Sorry for the confusion- and I hope it didn't cause any undue embarrassment to Michaelann.
