I found your definition of "Old Fashion" more contemporary however. Women as an equal partner with a man is not how things USE to be.

Posted: 11/23/2006 4:14:55 PM | Yea I must admit, but I prefer an more new aged, old fashioned woman. Allow me to explain. Tattoos: They are acceptable as long as they are tasteful, I know a lot of women that have one and are very respectable women.
Appearance: Dressing sexy does not mean wearing less... You can look just as sexy in sweats and a t-shirt (depending on timing) I cant deny that a good looking woman does catch my eye and my attention.
Personality: This is a big one!!! Iv dated a woman that all she talked about was sex and thats it. This is unacceptable in my opinion. There needs to some conversation, otherwise there can be no relationship.
Lifestyle: It needs to be healthy... not that she need to be a health nut, but taking care of herself (body and mind) is vital.
Thats what I consider new aged, old-fashioned. | |

Anyway, personally i want a women who will be my equal.
There are still men out there that want a unique women. I wouldn't say 'still' i'd say there are more then there used to be. The 'old fashioned man' used to beat his women with a stick no bigger then his thumb if his woman got out of line. And women wern't allowed to vote or make imporant discisions. | |

Old fashioned is probably the wrong term, but it is used frequently to describe someone with good morals and values.....Someone who is true to themself and family....Someone who does not have sex with everyone they date or with anyone they date until it becomes a committed relationship or marriage....Someone who does not "play games"..... Someone who knows and practices manners and good judgement.....Someone who believes there are different roles for men and women.
I guess if the above is what people call old fashioned, then that is what I am. I also have the "old fashioned" homemaking skills such as sewing, cooking, canning, even hanging laundry on the line.
All of that doesn't make me less of a person or someone who does not deserve equal human rights. I can think for myself and have opinions and can be quiet independent. But all things considered, I am one old fashioned woman who would love to find an old fashioned man.
So please tell me that there are men who are looking for such women. We are here...looking for you men who value us. | |

I like people who are what you say, what you get, honest, well-mannered, respectful, polite etc... I have grown to appreciate more traditional people whether as friends or for a girlfriend. | |

Which is not to say that I think that's what women who call themselves old-fashioned are doing, but that's what women did in the old days. They sold a set of services in exchange for access to resources.
And yeah, who would want an old-fashioned man? Male cheating rates have actually gone down. A faithful husband used to be a serious rarity. Rape within marriage was legal until the 1970s. Never mind the amount of control involved in the breadwinner role. Nothing will ever convince me that my life is worse than my grandmothers' lives, nor would my grandmothers even try. They envied me.
So yeah, not an old-fashioned girl. This isn't to say that I'm a sl*t, either, or anything else bad, only that I'm not interested in selling my body or soul for a roof over my head. And that's not only not old-fashioned, that's very modern. | |

I think what I am hearing more on here is Traditional..than Old fashion..
I am, not sure how old fashion I am since I sure in the heck don't look Like June Cleaver..
I know I am traditional since I can still count and remember each sexual partner I have ever had..I believe in a strong code of ethics and morals. Etc..I am willing to meet my partner more than halfway when needed. I am understanding enough to know never to damage his pride or self worth. I know I can at times put my own needs aside, when his are more of a priority.
I guess I am definately more tradional... Old Fashion what ever the word is...
But since I am single who the hell knows if men really want that stuff anymore..

That is where I draw the line. If you like some one then go after it. Do not let what ever your mother told you when you we're younger hold you back from who you are interested in. | |
