So does half her family. - Takes care of his house. (Much easier job these days thanks to engineer Nancy Gilbeth.) - Only wants sex to fall pregnant and even then only on pay days. - Has an expensive taste in clothing until the wedding. After that dresses like a public embarassment. - Cant drive herself, cant fix a door or window, cant kill a snake or a rat, can't do much more than cook and clean.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/15/2007 3:27:45 AM | thank you, gentlemen =) you are as rare a find as we old fashioned girls... and reading your comments makes me feel more hopeful. i've met sooo many guys who are only looking for a 'new fashioned girl' lol but they don't realize that old fashioned means a woman who is genuine, one he can trust and who will care for him, and who is NEVER boring in his bed because she has true feelings for him and is sure he has the same for her. maybe it takes a little more time but believe me she is worth it ;) | |

These days, it's hard to find a woman who doesn't have the experience of a sex worker.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/15/2007 5:28:51 AM | Nope, I have no interest in an 'old fashioned' girl.
I can cook well, and clean, mend clothes, run the house and don't want children. I don't need someone to do that for me.
I want someone open minded who will try new things, has their own life and isn't tied to gender stereotypes.
Still, there's plenty of men who do still want that these days. Good luck finding someone.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/15/2007 6:12:44 AM | | The term "Old fashioned girl" does not exist nor did it ever exist. Before the major HIV scare in the 80's women had sex and men had to play catchup. If i could go back in time right now to the 70's ,60's ,50' or even the roaring 20's i would find flocks of women that would be sexual godesses and be ready and wating at any outing. This is real people Wakeup!! Take the baby boomer era...women had kids at age 15 in these days!!! The same grandmothers that taught girls to keep their panties on in the 19990's are those women in the 1930's that started having kids at age 15 and sex was a way of life back then. The 60's era was the most remembered open era of all time, but where people are mistaken is that the 1920's were just as wild open and fun. Todays women are more inhibited than any other time recorded. Old fashioned girls does not exist!! That's a fable. | |

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/15/2007 7:14:03 AM | Did someone actually say that morals don't change!?
Dear god, do I have to break out Foucault again!?
Morality is very subjective. It definitely changes over time.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/15/2007 9:49:41 AM | | I thought there were, but I believe they disappeared a long time ago. I thought I was dating one, and she dumped me for a Libyan, whom she married after a short interval. She said I didn't try to kiss her. Well, when she jumps out of the car right when you pull up to her house, what am I supposed to do? Tackle her on the sidewalk? | |

I teach dancing, gourmet cook, part time actress and willing to try most anything...............and my bed would not be boring. So don't assume you know what is meant by old fashion.
A man holding the door for me does not mean I am helpless or he is controlling--it means, he is proud to be with me and is showing me courtsey. I think the bottom line for most women is that we aren't going to fall into bed with any schmuck who has a smooth line.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/15/2007 3:01:43 PM | Definately there is an attraction to a woman who is committed to family first and career second plus long term loyalty is still sexy.
Plus I've seen too many marriages that have broken up simply because of a rut, "it's no longer fun" or one person gets bored versus sticking together today while working towards a better tomorrow.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/16/2007 12:01:46 PM | There's nothing wrong with an old fashioned, one man, nest building, family oriented woman.
I dig them a lot ... right up until I want to do something other than be a couch potato. I'm kind of into the balance thing I guess. A lot of the old fashioned with a little new wave flavor.

All morally intact people knew it was wrong. The same as inmoral actions are accepted today because people choose not to follow the rules of moral nature. Because they are accepted by the physical or emotionally weak or the rebellious in no way make's immorality of things moral.
women had kids at age 15 in these days!!! The same grandmothers that taught girls to keep their panties on in the 1990's are those women in the 1930's that started having kids at age 15 and sex was a way of life back then.
And there is nothing wrong with a married woman at 15 having a baby today.
Some tart doing half the football team is the same thing today as years gone by and all the words apply that did 100 years ago. Having sex with a number of people no matter if you are male or female is inmoral.
What grandmothers do you mean the three I knew, were MARRIED at 14,15,15, one Aunt at 13 other's at 14,15,16, my mother at 16 WELL before they had baby's and all were married till husband's died 40 to 54 years there is nothing inmoral with that. One grandmother out lived 2. sex was a way of life back then ,only for the women going to the honky-tonks, and speak easy's bar's etc.Women sleeping around having children out of wedlock were called the girl from the wrong side of town ,the harlot, whore, bad girl, etc. men or boys punk, hood, gangster, bad man, someone to stay away from. And it wasn' just sleeping around that got you booted.
Women & Girls were sent away. Men went away or were ran off. Boys forced to join Army.
Morals are the same today you just get to be called KOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL for being as a critter in the woods.
WE!! ( as in I also) could take a lesson from the Timber Wolf. ONE MATE FOR LIFE Morals have not changed only the out look on the immoral.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/17/2007 9:58:46 PM | | It depends what you mean by old-fashioned. I'm not looking for a housewife or 2.5 kids and a house with a 2 car garage at the moment, so I'm not interested in women who want to live that sort of lifestyle. | |
|
| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/17/2007 11:04:58 PM | | Not having that many old fashioned girls 'available' creates a string of bachelors that become dependent on themselves, which allows more autonomy when considering a relationship today overall. Using the term old fashioned meaning a wife from the earliest part of the century is an ideal that I grew up catching a glimpse of, surmising that it was a simplistic necessity and traditional sort of companionship for the time. It does hold some basic flavour, because I'm supposing men anywhere like being cared for to a certain extent. My thought is that an attitude of openess is necessary in order to accomodate the growing diversity of women's attitudes, career choices, etc. | |

I was just wondering if men still want an oldfashioned girl and do you feel they still exist,
Nah, these days with the cost of living, paying for her all the time isn't possible for most guys on average incomes. Many women like to pretend they are old fashioned, to get the guys to pay all the time etc, but they certainly don't have a problem having a girls night out to party on at the same time.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/18/2007 9:09:26 AM | Men are men. We look for what we want. If we're tired of "dating" and want to settle down, we look for a suitable mate.
Since us men are as different as you women, we all want different types of women.
If we're into party mode...just out of a divorce or just not looking for a mate, we're looking for someone we enjoy and that would probably NOT be an old fashion girl.
My advice to an "old fashion girl" is to look for a man with similar values and figure out where men like that are most likely to be...church...museums...morgue.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/18/2007 9:59:53 AM | Depends on what "old fashioned" means...
As a man who loves to be a man, I also love a woman who loves to be a woman. But old fashioned does not have to be boring. I would prefer to read it as somebody who has respect for "old fashioned" such as family etc. and who prefer her man to treat her like a lady.
