| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/18/2007 8:47:40 PM | Nah, these days with the cost of living, paying for her all the time isn't possible for most guys on average incomes.
Well here I go Getting in trouble for being truthful. Maybe you boys out there in the world feel that way. I am a full grown muture male. When I can not take care of a woman her kids my kids(mine are grown) our kids, by working some more hours, or getting a additional job if I worked for someone. I will not be on a dating site looking for someone. I do not care if a woman works but it is not (her money) something I want or look for in a relationship.

Posted: 12/18/2007 11:06:56 PM | thank you, gentlemen =) you are as rare a find as we old fashioned girls... and reading your comments makes me feel more hopeful. i've met sooo many guys who are only looking for a 'new fashioned girl' lol but they don't realize that old fashioned means a woman who is genuine, one he can trust and who will care for him, and who is NEVER boring in his bed because she has true feelings for him and is sure he has the same for her. maybe it takes a little more time but believe me she is worth it ;)
Marry me...
Lol obviously I'm kidding ;) But that is exactly what I am talking about! Seems to be almost impossible to find women like this!

Us 'boys' may be working jobs that don't pay as much as you 'muture men', and I tend to agree that in the dating situation, paying for the girl all the time, while traditional, isn't necessarily feasible when there may be other things to consider.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/20/2007 6:19:56 AM | I'm not sure what old-fashioned is....but based on what alot of men say they want a woman with values, one who is confident without being conceited, who is not afraid to show affection, who is combination angel in public/"devil" in bed, someone who is not throwing "women's lib" down their throat, someone who likes to have the door opened for her but can do it herself, someone who believes that dinner is more than a frozen conglomeration that comes in a package, someone who is smart but does not think SHE is always right, but also stands up for when she is...one who does nice things for others and yet expects to be also be treated nicely....the list goes on...
I think you could turn this around and see some of the same attributes that today's woman searches for in a man....

Sir: You sound like a man who is seriously looking for a womans approval.. no matter what... If you are the shining example of being a "mature male" then I'll sit this one out, and stay amongst the "boys" ....

I stated fact as it has been since time begin. I could not, care any less, if I have anyone's approval. (read some of my other post ) Things in the world are the way they were 6000 years ago. Because some choose to be too lazy, slow, not care enough, not wise enough, or party all the time to fill the shoes.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/21/2007 12:09:25 AM | As I said get another job work more hours. To go along with the one you have.
Eh, personally I'd have to work around 8 jobs 40 hours a week each to come close to matching my father's paycheck at my current wages. Hopefully that changes a bit in a couple of years once I'm out of school, but fat chance. However, I'd rather be with a woman who is capable of supporting herself or pulling her own weight in the family so that neither of us have to be busting our ass 80-100+ hours a week when we could both be working something more reasonable instead.
I'm no slouch when it comes to cooking, cleaning, laundry, yardwork, or any other form of basic housekeeping. When I have a family I simply don't want to be like my father where I'm working so often that I never have the chance to even get to know my own children or have any semblance of a life outside of work. That's a fate I'd never wish upon anyone. Society is reaching a point where women can earn as much as men in the workforce, and there's nothing keeping men from taking on a few household chores and taking part in the upbringing of their own children to make up for it.

Me personally, I'd kill for a maniacal, manipulative, controlling, dangerous woman that could cut my throat at a moment's notice. That'd be awesome.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/21/2007 8:30:23 AM | | Nothing wrong with "old-fashioned" values. There is also nothing wrong with "new-fashioned" lifestyle. I think there should be a happy medium. I believe in home-cooked (man or woman can do the cooking) family dinners at the dining room table, family night, curfew for the kids, and I believe in disciplining a child when they do wrong. (keeping the discipline within boundaries, so it doesn't become child abuse.) Old-fashioned like that is good. New-fashioned lifestyle: Both man and woman work, cook, take care of household chores, run kids to different events, and anything else that fits into that category. I'm all for equal rights with women, as they are people too. But, I also think that men should be men and women should be women. | |

So when do you think this "equal rights" thing is going to happen??? I know this is a bit of an off topic side line... but do equal rights really exist??
I've noticed that there are several people who post on this forum... those from the USA, Canada, UK, and abroad... So... that being said, as a male from the USA... Honestly, do equal rights exist??
And before you start in on how women are "oppressed" or whatever...There is no more, if there ever was.. Opression... South Africa was oppressed.... if you take a look... society is leaning way far out of wack for equality.
To vote in this country, a young man who makes it to 18 years of age MUST register with the Selective Service.. ie, the draft... its the LAW.... You dont do it, you dont vote, and probably spend some time in jail...
What is it women have to do, at the age of 18 to vote??
And dont argue BIOLOGY with me, about how terrible it is because women have to give birth... NOT MY FAULT.... WASNT THERE TO MAKE THAT DECISION...
If you look around.. there are a lot of little things like that degrading our society...

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/21/2007 11:57:25 AM | | Depends on what you mean by "old fashioned". I have a certain fondness for traditional gender roles in our culture. There is something about the notion of manners and a certain etiquette in how things are done that I find appealing. If by "old fashioned" you mean someone who knows which fork to eat which course with, likes to get dressed in something fancy a couple of times a year, doesn't mind a gentleman opening the door for her ... sure. If by "old fashioned" you mean Victorian puritanical sexual ethics, nah, I'll pass. | |

Posted: 12/25/2007 10:43:05 PM | | hey...i am a bit old-fashioned and although you may have to mind some abrasive terms in which you so choose to express yourself, it has absolutely nothing to do with their abilities playing in the bedroom...geeez! where do you guys come up with this stuff? haha.

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/25/2007 10:44:51 PM | i think also that if aguy does not want a girl next door type then he wants to play games and might get caught or he likes a bit of drama...just conjecture...im no expert.. | |

| Do men still look for old fashioned girls? Posted: 12/25/2007 11:53:11 PM | | When you say old fashioned it makes me think of a time when women didn't speak their mind. Were afraid to say what they desired in the bedroom and put up with a man's crap without telling them how they truly feel. If this is the old fashioned your talking about ...no thanks ! I want a women that is going to stand beside me. Not behind me . | |
