Thanks for the warm welcome back everyon! It's good to have resurfaced ;)
I do remember the Sakana grill experience, and I think the delay in feeding half of us was to ensure enough sake was consumed! It's a plot I tell ya!
Cravings Market is very good, and a fun night, but not a very comfortable atmosphere if I remember right... bistro chairs are only comfortable for a short while! Mon Cherie, it is based on the idea of a street in Paris, and you go to each different "market" (eg: vegetable, salad, pasta, meat, wine, dessert) they used to have passports that you stamped at each market, this was your bill at the end of the night. I believe they use a plastic card now.
Tipperary's is on 16th NW, right? I think I've had a pint or 2 there.

Posted: 9/30/2008 10:18:31 PM | fyi, the Cravings wine club dinners are a little differently set up....as they have a specific theme & 3 - 4 courses, paired with wine. The atmosphere was quite nice when some of us went before. Will have a different posting under wine club...for those interested to keep tuned to...they have a new chef and are just organinzing things with him. The market part is set up like you described puddle jumper.
looking forward to a german night, which would be great for oktoberfest time! hopefully something can pan out for this!
I think with the amount of people in calgary & surrounding areas, there are plenty of things that can take place & happen and look forward to some fun food events....  | |
