| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/25/2009 5:22:46 PM | Ok, there are a few of interested.
In the past 2 years, I think we've done Moroccan, Ethopian, Italian, Greek, Sushi/ish...
Any feelings about Indian? Rajdoot?
Or Thai? The King & I?
Or Latino? La Pachanga?
:) OH the options! | |

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/25/2009 10:36:51 PM | I'll give it another day or so for anyone else to weigh in... Indian appears to be in the forefront though.
Day of the week? My vote would be a Saturday, anyone else??

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/26/2009 12:43:27 AM | I had a East Indian Night planned for Mar 24 that we had to cancel a few weeks ago at Delhi Darbar which has a great buffet and was willing to allow us to book the whole place on a week night and a great price with beverage included.
We were going to set up another East Indian Night in the near future either at Delhi Darbar or at another place that someone said was really good called Surya or something ,not sure about the spelling at the moment .
But if someone else wants to set one up instead and organise it then I for one will sign up for it if I am in town instead of trying to organise it. Let's eat
I have been craving a good East Indian meal for awhile.
Actually I think I may head out to Delhi Barbar this week just to curb the craving.

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/26/2009 7:36:52 AM | NOT Saturday!! That's poker night!!
Tuesday always worked good when we did this in the past! Why not try it again. We're over the blahs of a bad weekend, not yet gearing up for the next weekend, and usually t.v. is chitty-chitty-bang-pop on Tuesdays!
|
| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/26/2009 7:42:17 AM | | Yeah back then it was on Tuesday. Tho to me it doesnt make much of a difference but back then i went with the idea that Tuesday are usually a quiet night for restaurant, well at least not as crazy busy as saturday. Therefore making it easier to book rooms/tables. | |

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/26/2009 8:17:37 PM | So, what you are saying is it's Two fer Tuesdays, and one for any weekend evening... although Daisy, if someone plays their cards right, you may end up with a date on the weekend following a Dinner night... then, you'd be busy weekends! Anyone else weighing in on a preferred day? | |

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/28/2009 1:10:55 PM | hey PJ...as event planners we both know that you can never please everyone, go with what suits you best and they will come... if you can change the day around sometimes, great, if not, you will still have a good turnout. I am in and if the day you pick doesn't fit then I have to try for the next one, BTW do you have any idea what the first one will be??? So great that you started this up again | |

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/28/2009 1:30:42 PM | Heya DQ, most of the responses were for Indian.
I didn't put a weigh in on the place, I suggested RajDoot, because I know it's fantastic, and it's fairly central, in the Mission. I know Clay Oven is great, but it's up in the North East.

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/28/2009 2:44:59 PM | Well PJ we could all give our two bits as to what night is best and which restaurant is better or has this or has that .
But build it and they will come .
Pick a night that works for the majority and a restaurant that can handle a large group possibly on that night you choose .All the rest will work out . It is impossible to appease everyone though it would be nice if that could be done but obviously it cannot as everyone has different schedules and lifestyles.
I just had a fabulous East Indian Buffet for lunch today and am waiting for the next opportunity to have some more.
If they cannot handle the amount of people there on what ever night you choose there are a few other places that are somewhat central as well that you have not mentioned.

Who is this "we" you speak of LTBF?
PJ - what's the latest on the plan? I'm looking forward to it.

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 3/31/2009 7:42:35 PM | Which buffet place was it?
Sorry to going off topic there. Just kinda curious.
The way i used to do them is set a day, if folks wana come, they will make plans. Dont try to make everyone happy or to fit with everyone schedule, it's impossible.

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 4/3/2009 6:34:50 PM | bumpity bump.
I'm going to have to make some phone calls to confirm which place would welcome us, with either a buffet option, or individual bills.
Sorry, I've been working on trip planning, so I'm looking at early-mid May for this one. I'll try to get the place and date confirmed, and post in the events, within the next week or so.

| Monthly event, Calgary Ethnic Food night Posted: 7/6/2009 7:23:21 AM | The Samosa Grill also has a seafood buffet on Friday night, and it's really good.
Back OT, I'd certainly come for a Tuesday or Wednesday night supper.
