| What would you do? A potential lifemate or your dog? Posted: 11/24/2006 6:45:05 AM | straight up i'm a mother and a dog owner....
just like anyone who would give their child away for some partner who can't accept it. a pet is like a child especially a dog. YOU'RE it's world and if u were to leave that dog and urself would suffer.
my advice
drop that scum and move on babes and u and ur dog will find someone who adores BOTH NOT ONLY ONE of yas. ur a package. what a cruel **** sorry but i'm not a cat person and i'm also allergic to cats but god i would never tell my man to get rid of his pet THATS SICK

If someone doesn't like being around my dogs, then they'll never have a chance to be 'special'. If they aren't 'special', I'll never know what I lost.
And y'know, that's just fine by me. I know myself pretty well, and I know that whomever I end up being with will be as nuts about dogs as I am. If they never show up, that's cool too. After all I have my dogs to keep me company...

I myself have two dogs, and one is a German Shepherd, you want to talk rejection? I can't tell you the amount of times people have crossed the street when I am walking with her. Or made snide remarks about a vicious dog. And dating? Good luck, most women will have nothing to do with larger dogs. They all want those little poofy things. So yes, please keep the dog and chuck him. Remember, you made a lifetime commitment to your dog first.

GZY, after looking at your profile. I should think that you won't have a problem finding someone who would grow to love you and your dog. You just need to specify that the person must be an animal lover, no if's and's or but's. BTW, that is a very good looking puppy, looks to be a handfull to.

That cat didn't like her, and even bit her once. I should have taken that as a sign. Animals know.

The man I'm with now has his own dogs and loves my two.
I've known this man for the past 4 years and it's just recently we've gotten together. Had I known at any point during the past 4 years or even now that he wouldn't have a pet especially a dog we never would have gone past the point of friends.
My friends don't have to like my pets, but my mate does. It's part of who I am and they are part of me, I wouldn't trade them for the love of my life if that's what it took. I'd rather have my animals.
That being said, everyone is different. Do you want to go down a road that has a dead end?
Good luck with your choice!

I have dated alot of people that don't like cats or dogs in the first place. But when they leave my house they don't seem to mind.
I use to have a rottie and it scared alot of guys due to the fact that the dog was just at that guy level.
But most of the guys I know tried. I mean I would go and sit and the floor and they would sit beside me and the dog would come over and try and make friends. And they would true.
If the guy is not willing to try than he does not care about what you think, Realtionships are all about comprimise and therefore the guy must aleat try.
As far as the hair goes there is several ways to not make your dog shed as much.
1) when feeding it feed it a good food with oatmeal in it 2) when brushing use a zoom de groom brush 3) bath the dog more and use the brush as it will get the extra hair out as well. But with the lab and rottie mix he shouldn't shed that much at all. Unless feeding him bargin basement food.
