Is a guy who wears short or loose shorts, without underwear, and likes to sit spread eagle showing his 'stuff' to anyone sitting across from him a flasher? If he's been made aware of his 'wardrobe malfunction' and continues with said behavior?
After he is told, if they continue, I would guess 90% are flashers, and 10% couldn't care less.
I live in S. Florida, and it is beneficial to wear loose fitting shorts without underwear because them babies need to breathe as hot and humid as it is here, but it is tacky to flash all nearby people.
BTW, PHK I just read your profile and it brought back memories. (I used to live near the intersection of Sunset and PCH) I miss living there except for the fires every year in the canyons.

| flashers and peeping toms? whats up with them... Posted: 7/22/2007 11:38:06 AM | there is a MASSIVE difference in the behaviour /reaction patterns between the sexes.
just imagine if there was a woman walking about in her long coat and opening it at various times to youngish males and flashing her naked body.....i wonder how many of these young males would scream in horror and phone the cops......i know i wouldnt.
if a guy was sunbathing totaly nude in his own back yard and his female neighbor looked out of her upstairs window and seen the guy.....he would be done for indecent exposure.
if a lady was sunbathing totaly nude in her back yard and the male neighbor was looking at her from his window and she spotted him looking at her he would get done for being a peeping tom.
the battle of the sexes is still being fought.
why do a lot of women get very upset over male flashers whereas i guess that the majority of males would enjoy seeing most women exposing them selves.
once one of my male friends had his bottom felt by a woman whilst crossing a road....he told me he smiled at her...i asked him if he reported this to the cops, he said of course not...it was only a bit of fun. just imagine if the roles had been reversed....if he had felt her......i think we all know the answer to that one.

was wondering if anyone els has ever been flashed or caught someone peeping?....
Yes, and it wasn't a good thing. He had pulled my phone lines, he had intentions on entering the house ~ and he stood there in all his glory masturbating in front of me and my then, 9 year old son. He is now serving time in a Northern CA prison, with warrants in Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Idaho. He was a "peeper" bigtime. He would lurk around all the time. Creepy baastard.
I don't believe all "flashers" do it with the intent this creep did ~ some just get turned on by the shock value. The best thing next to laughter is to say something profound like, "Oh my God, that looks like a penis only much smaller."

He underwent counseling while in prision and those records were discussed at trial. The foundation of his behavior was that, obviously, he had alot of identity confusion and social confusion and didn't know how to approach girls. He thought if he flashed someone and she liked him, maybe she would be his girlfriend. Then of course, startled reactions and what not pretty much added to his identity and social confusion, so his behavior kept escalating. Pretty sad, but at the same time, not too fun to get cornered in a subway by such a guy.
I think it's typical that all unwanted sexual behavior comes from a breakdown in understanding how others are percieving your advances. At the same time, the behavior seems to make sense to the person who' s doing it, who can't be terribly rational because their thinking is mingled with biological urges and emotional lonliness.
Not saying this is the thinking behind all exhibitionism, just one case that explains what might be the thinking behind some of this behavior, that seems to be pretty irrational and ungratifying to an outside point of view.

Posted: 8/18/2008 10:33:32 AM | | ok, but is it illegal to look into someones window from across the street when they have all the blinds open and are walking in front of the window naked with all the lights on? This is in a downtown loft setting. So tons of apartments around.

| flashers and peeping toms? whats up with them... Posted: 8/18/2008 5:34:38 PM | | When I was around 20 my best friend and I were walking on a trail by the river. I looked across the river and saw a deer bounding through the trees. I looked again and it was a guy shaking his willy at us! It was one of the funniest things ever. My friend freaked out though. | |
