This isn't true at all. There are many, many families with autistic children who do not think vaccines were involved at all.

Children with genetic autism are 'normal health' babies. Children with Rett Syndrome develop normally until the age of around 18 months when they start to regress and cases of Fragile X are only detectable with a blood test.

Iwas warned that anything i would say would be rideculed
i was told any studies were always found fault with when it came to the children like my son . but ive watched studies coming out proving no link also and seen them being picked apart also . Honesty from goverment officials who have shares in these vaccine companys is all i ask . my sons school smell a rat i think my own doctor does as well . The study, A Mitochondrial Dysfunction, Impaired Oxidative-Reduction Activity, Degeneration, and Death in Human Neuronal and Fetal Cells Induced by Low-Level Exposure to Thimerosal and Other Metal Compounds was published in the June 2009 issue of the peer-reviewed journal Toxicology & Environmental Toxicology.1
In the study, it was found that the amounts of Thimerosal found in inoculations commonly given to infants in the 1990s and still in use today (though more limited) induced levels of cellular toxicity. This cellular damage was consistent with that found in studies of patients diagnosed with ASD.
Both studies found significant mitochondrial dysfunction, reduced cellular oxidative-reduction activity, cell degeneration, and cell death being tied to ASD. All of these contribute significantly to ASD diagnosis and are also often attributed to other childhood and early development maladies.
Here at Natural News, of course, readers are likely well aware of the links between Thimerosal and autism. Until now, those links have mostly been implied and inferred through anecdotal evidence and court cases. Nevertheless, the link between mercury, Thimerosal and childhood autism rates has been exhaustively covered here.2
Now, conclusive scientific evidence that cannot be ignored has been published in a peer-reviewed journal. This gives those of us concerned with the issue more ammunition to use in forcing lawmakers to acknowledge the link and for pharmaceutical companies who've been pushing their wares on us to become accountable for it.
This study also showed that Thimerosal is much more toxic than other metal compounds included in the study and commonly found in vaccines. Other compounds studied included aluminum sulfate, methylmercury hydroxide (often blamed for autism), lead acetate, and mercuric chloride. This study does not take those compounds off the hook, of course, but does show that Thimerosal is significantly more toxic than even methylmercury.
The explanation for that higher toxicity lies in the fact that Thimerosal is not naturally-based, but manufactured.
First created in the 1920s as a stronger replacement for alkylmercury compound, it's biological transport and intracellular delivery properties were enhanced. The study shows that, in comparison to methylmercury hydroxide, Thimerosal has three distinct toxicity-enhancers:
Higher aqueous solubility - the ability to dissolve in water.
Higher solubility in cell membranes - the ability to dissolve in cell membranes.
Higher intracellular toxicity - the ability to inactivate essential cell processes.
The study was done by CoMeD, Inc. (a non-profit) through a grant from the Brenen Hornstein Autism Research & Education Foundation and the non-profit Institute of Chronic Illnesses, Inc. Attribution was also given to the Genetic Centers of America.
CoMeD, Inc. and BHARE recommend parents and health care providers have children with ASD diagnosis tested by urinary porphyrin profile analysis (UPPA). have a look at these studies In 2005 a paper by two Japanese researchers, Hideo Honda and Yasuo Shimizu, was published in an English psychiatric journal with psychiatrist Professor Sir Michael Rutter also named as an author. The paper was claimed to be proof MMR vaccine could not cause autistic spectrum disorders. But the authors failed to provide the full picture. They made invalid claims. Those claims were based on inadequate research containing basic flaws.
When the flaws are identified and corrected, the paper provides what unusually strong evidence, not normally seen, implicating vaccines as a cause of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The paper shows, when corrected with the missing data, Autistic Spectrum Disorder numbers increased and decreased in direct proportion to the total number of measles and MMR vaccines given to children.
We see here not just evidence of dechallenges and rechallenges on a population level but a "dose-response" relationship. This is conclusive evidence of a causal association. A dose-response relationship on a population level is rare if not unprecedented because the kind of close numerical correspondence seen here is not usually found.
Professor Rutter has many close associations with the drug industry and particularly with GlaxoSmithKline, having been a paid expert witness on their behalf in the UK MMR vaccine damage litigation. That was not declared in the Honda/Rutter paper nor were any other potential conflicts of interest or statements of funding (about which see more below). Professor Rutter is also one of the main prosecution witnesses in the witchhunt in the British General Medical Council against medical doctors Andrew Wakefield, Simon Murch and Professor Walker-Smith.The Honda/Rutter paper claimed that new cases of autism in Japan fell for children born in 1991-92 (as the confidence of Japanese parents fell in the dangerous Japanese MMR vaccine withdrawn on safety grounds in 1992) but then rose sharply again and especially for children who were born in 1993-94. The Invalid Claims
The Honda/Rutter paper is:-

The Honda/Rutter paper when corrected provides not only strong evidence implicating MMR and single measles vaccines as a cause of ASD but is also implicates rubella and JE (Japanese Encephalitis) vaccine containing Thiomersal [Thimerosal in the USA]. This vaccine ingredient is a known toxic mercury containing neurotoxin and also causes allergies.
That the practice in Japan was to give the measles and rubella vaccines at the same time was the boast of The British Department of Health. That was to bolster official claims that whistle blower medical doctor Andrew Wakefield's concerns about the MMR vaccine were wrong. The Honda/Rutter paper was announced in the usual blaze of publicity. And as usual, the truth has not been. At the very least what no one can argue validly with is that scientifically the Honda/Rutter paper is deeply flawed.
CLEVELAND -- You may have never heard of Thimerosal, but if you or your children were vaccinated before 1999, chances are, it was injected into you.
The mercury preservative has sparked a medical controversy because some people claim it may be responsible for an increase in autism, reported 5 On Your Side's Curtis Jackson.
"I truly knew something was wrong when he was about 15 months," said one parent.
Another mother said, "He would have great eye contact and then he just kind of seemed to disappear."
And yet another mom said, "I gave my son mercury and I will never get over that."
These local mothers are describing their children's sudden onset of autism, which they say began after their kids were immunized.
"I know what happened to my child. I've got videotape, pictures showing my child was normal -- hit his milestones, did this and then all of the sudden, something just happened," said mother Cheri Henry.
These women believe their children's autism was caused by Thimerosal, a preservative widely used in vaccines until 1999.
Thimerosal is almost half organic mercury, which can cause brain injury or death in sufficient amounts.
For years, it was not only used in vaccines, but in many over-the-counter medicines.
Still, Thimerosal went largely unnoticed until the 1990s, when more immunizations were added to the schedule.
"From that point on, we had an unbelievable epidemic of autism," said Dr. Mark Gier.
Gier, a Maryland geneticist, and his attorney son David, are leading proponents of the theory.
Their controversial research, featured in the book "Evidence of Harm," argues mercury in Thimerosal caused autism in children who are genetically susceptible.
The Giers call it the Thimerosal Generation, autistic children who might otherwise be normal had they not received vaccines with Timerosal.
"We've absorbed more damage than we took during World War II, World War I and the AIDS epidemic and 9/11, all combined," said Mark Gier.
But Dr. Max Wiznitzer, a nationally recognized autism expert at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, says the Giers' theory is wrong.
"The first flaw is, you can't say that one causes the other, and people are saying that," said Wiznitzer.
And Wiznitzer is not alone.
A panel convened by the Institute of Medicine last year rejected the Giers' research as "uninterpretable," adding it "provided no information."
Last year, it outright rejected any cause-effect relationship between Thimerosal vaccines and autism.
"We've still seen the same rise in the number of individuals identified as having autism spectrum disorders even though Thimerosal is no longer in the immunization program," said Wiznitzer. "Obviously, if it was a cause-effect relationship we would expect the opposite to occur."
The Giers defend their work, saying autism rates have not gone up, but have gone down since the removal of Thimerosal five years ago.
"What we've seen is that children born after 1999 have significantly less autism and other neuro-developmental delays than children born before in the Thimerosal generation," said David Gier.
Caught in the middle of the Thimerosal debate are a growing number of local parents of autistic children who, despite having science against them, are part of a mercury movement.
Using the Internet, they inform one another about new research and treatments they say prove mercury Thimerosal causes autism in some children.
For most, follow-up government studies are nothing more than an elaborate cover-up by vaccine manufacturers.
"They know what's going on, and they could have come out and told people this is what's happening," said mother Tina Hamilton. "This is what you can do to help your children, and they didn't do it."
Jane Milota, who has a child with autism, said, "Let the scientists do an independent study that can either prove or disprove this theory."
While the Institute of Health is critical of the Giers' research and has ruled out a cause-effect relationship between autism and vaccines, it admits very little is known about the mercury that's in Thimerosal.
Research by more credible autism experts is under way in New Jersey.
However divided the debate, both sides agree that Thimerosal should be taken out of vaccines.
For the most part, manufacturers have complied, though it still remains in two out of four flu shots.

This is one of the most ridiculous things about mercury testing. If the blood mercury levels are shown to be *high* then the child is 'mercury poisoned' and needs chelating, however, if the blood mercury levels are found to be *low* then - the child is 'mercury poisoned' and needs chelating! Either way the child loses and the doctor who's selling you the chelating agent wins (in the case of clay baths or oils the chelating agent is thankfully bogus so is unlikely to do the child any harm).

Natalie Morton sadly died from a malignant tumour that was pressing her lungs and her heart. Far from claiming she was healthy, her family have gone on record as saying that she'd been ill for some time and had been having medical examinations to determine what was wrong, but it's likely that they never suspected she had a serious illness like cancer and would die.
Stepfather Andrew Bullock said Natalie, who attended Blue Coat CofE School, in Coventry, had been 'poorly for some time'.

What I'm wondering right now is, even if Natalie had died from the Gardasil jab - which it's known was not the case - how would this be relevant to your claim that MMR caused your son's autism? These are two different jabs and two different conditions, why are you conflating the two?

I see you are in the US; there's no mercury in your baby's vaccines unless they have the flu shot, it was removed in 2001 as a precaution - autism rates have continued to rise since it's removal.

Are you seriously suggesting that an hour after a shot that contains no cancerous cells a tumour that did not exist before could be formed so large that it could penetrate the heart and squash the lungs? Richard Halverson sells single vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella, he has a vested interest in claiming that the MMR is ineffective.
Vaccine risks are probably not assessed properly because unlike drugs, vaccines generally don’t undergo long-term safety trials
This is simply untrue, vaccine safety is just as stringent as for any other medicine; you've posted yourself from the VAERS website, you must know that it exists? This is on top of the usual trials that medications go through.
There's a document available from the CDC that details the flu shot's safety trials - on page 18 from here;

It shows that all reactions will be reported after 7 days, serious adverse reactions every month and a 6-12 month follow up will be carried out after the final (in the case of a two-shot dose) flu shot.

The parents have agreed that the vaccine wasn't to blame. Do you think they would agree to lie about their daughter's death? I'm going to repeat that I think you using a girl's tragic death from cancer to scaremonger is deeply unpleasant.
Cancers develop in all sorts of ways, pancreatic cancer in particular is infamous for large tumours forming unnoticed. I've also lost friends to cancer and know of one case where someone died of an unknown tumour and another where a healthy woman in her 30's was diagnosed with cancer on Monday and sadly died by Thursday of the same week. It's not always a slow death. | |

In February, I leaked news of the Federal government's admission that vaccines had triggered autism in a little girl named Hannah Poling. The stunning revelation, though still reverberating around the world, was roundly downplayed by US officials, who insisted that Hannah had an extremely rare, genetic case of "aggravated" mitochondrial disorder, with zero bearing on other autism cases.
Dr. Julie Gerberding, Director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), rushed to the airwaves, exhorting parents to adhere to the nation's intensive and virtually mandatory immunization schedule, and brushing off their legitimate anxieties by saying: "We've got to set aside this very isolated, unusual situation."
Well, the days of setting aside are over: Hannah Poling is neither isolated nor unusual.
In fact, the boy who was selected to replace Hannah Poling as the first-ever thimerosal "test case" in so-called Vaccine Court, has just been found with many of the same unusual metabolic markers as... you guessed it, Hannah Poling.
Hannah's case was scheduled to be heard in Federal Claims Court on May 12 -- as one of three "test cases" of the theory that thimerosal (a mercury-based vaccine preservative) can cause autism.
Test cases will help address general causation issues in all 4,900 autism claims now pending in Vaccine Court. But following the government concession, Hannah was withdrawn as the first test case of the thimerosal theory, and attorneys scrambled to find a replacement: a young boy from New York.
Last week, however, the court announced that the replacement thimerosal test case was also being withdrawn, in order to "proceed to an individual hearing on a different theory of causation."
That theory, which applies to Hannah as well, maintains that children with dysfunctional mitochondria (the little batteries within each cell that convert food into energy) are susceptible to autistic regression, triggered by a vaccine-induced overtaxing of the immune system.
"We want to pursue an additional theory, not a different theory," the boy's father told me. "We are by no means abandoning the thimerosal theory of causation but, in the context of the test case, the thimerosal theory would have eclipsed our other evidence, including evidence of metabolic dysfunction," such as impaired mitchondria and low cellular energy.
Following the Poling concession, he said, "I saw right away that we needed to pursue the mitochondrial theory,"but the lead attorneys did not see it that way. "Perhaps they did not properly understand the concession, and believed the finding was of a rare, genetically caused mitochondrial disorder," as the government contends. "I think they rightly want to keep clear focus on thimerosal in the test case, and not muddy the presentation with other theories."
The court's test case process is unusual and unwieldy. "They limit the cases to one theory at a time, when the theories are not mutually exclusive," the father said. "For example, thimerosal could cause, contribute to, or aggravate mitochondrial dysfunction. These cases can't be wrapped into neat
little packages."
The unexpected withdrawal of two test cases in a row - both because of their apparent mitochondrial underpinnings - is sure to have larger ramifications in the Court of Federal Claims, as well as the much larger court of public opinion.
A new, additional theory of causation is about to be introduced in Vaccine Court: Vaccines can trigger a chain of events in children with mitochondrial dysfunction that causes autism.
But the US Government now has a major quandary to deal with. Federal officials already conceded that, far from being "theoretical," this chain of events already happened to Hannah Poling. This will make it difficult, if not impossible, to argue against compensating the boy from New York, when compensating a nearly identical case - Hannah Poling - was already deemed appropriate.
Some estimates of mitochondrial dysfunction in children with autism range as high as 20%-30%. But among the regressive subset of cases (virtually all of the claims in Vaccine Court) up to half of the children might show signs of it.
No one knows how many of those families will pursue a similar strategy of individual hearings on causation, based on the mitochondrial concession in the Poling case. But my guess is that there could be hundreds of them, following in the precedent of this case's footsteps. The legal ramifications, inside Vaccine Court and throughout the judicial system, remain incalculable at this point.
Still, when the American public finds out that the exceedingly "rare" Poling case was replaced by what is shaping up to be yet another exceedingly rare case - they will follow the lead of all three presidential candidates and finally reject the tired mantra that, "there is no link" between vaccines and autism.
Then perhaps will end, "One of the most vitriolic debates in medical history," as it is called by Dr. Bernadine Healy, former head of the NIH and the Red Cross. "At some level," she said, the Poling case "was a vindication for families," adding that, "vaccines as a trigger carry a ring of both historical and biological plausibility."
The government is currently examining the national vaccine schedule to see if we are, perhaps, immunizing children too early and too often (and with too much thimerosal from the flu shot).
I personally thought that one Hannah Poling emerging out of Vaccine Court would be enough to
change the way we vaccinate in this country. But now we have two. And there are many more Hannah's out there, waiting to be counted.

The argument threads I usually skip over unless they involve something I have personal experience with and can contribute in that way.
Debate is interesting if it uncovers facts I was not aware of, but I think facts need to be double-checked before making important decisions about anything.
I like reading debates that usually would be edited out of mainstream media programs because you get to hear what people are really talking about in everyday conversation, and hear what people are really worried about, angry about, happy about, curious about, or are dealing with that might not hit the radar of larger organizational communications. If all inappropriateness is edited out of everything we see and read, then we might be missing something important, if at first, it seems to be "inappropriate" but in reality is just unusual or surprising. | |

The mercury link to autism is being hidden by large multinational drug companies with no face that is conspiring to hide the fact that their vaccines kill people, AND that they have tricked or paid off ALL of our highest educated dr's over the last 80 years, AND that they are going on a case by case basis to cover up tumors that magically appear in like 2 hours after a vaccination showed up?
All the unbiased research shows their isn't even a CASUAL link. Even your biased natural.com story was only claiming a CASUAL link (done by a non profit to stop vaccinations). DR's in our society are some of the most educated out there, surely the evil corporations can't fool 95% of them into thinking they are healthy right? Honestly, theres a better chance that it's a genetic predisposition to autism in your family than an environmental factor.

Now let's talk about the World Health Organization and what I have found relating to it's organization. In 1972 Bulletin 45: The creation of the Immune virus suggested a useful way's to study the effects would be quote, " To put this virus in a vaccination program nation wide and observe the results." Now in bulletin 47: They say the virus requested would selectively destroy the human T-cell system. ( That is exactly what the HIV virus does.) In fact many bio-chemists have spoken theorized the W.H.O. used the smallpox vaccination program in central Africa first of all for the study and from there that's what led into the spread of HIV infection and it coincides precisely with that intense smallpox vaccination program.
Let's jump to 1974 - A turning point to see even more truth's about these health programs designed to give us a better quality of life. I'll start with Henry Kissinger. He wrote a classified national security memorandum for the year 2000 (26 years into the future). It was entitled, " Implications of world wide population growth for u.s. security and over-sea's interest" This report amazingly identifies the nation states of India, Bangladesh, Pakistan,Nigeria, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, the Philippines, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, Ethiopia, Columbia, as quote, "Targets for initial population reduction and experimentation to be implemented around the year 2000".
Also in 1974 - The Philippines Supreme Court found and ruled that 3 million Philippines between the age 12 and 45 years of age were given a specific test vaccine that ruined their health. W.H.O. gave them the vaccine and it was individuals tied to the Henry Kissinger report and the world health organization. It was also found that the native American women indians and black woman in the united states also received this experimental vaccine and sterility rates native American women in the u.s. that received this vaccine exceeded 35% and sterility rates today over 25 % for black women

If you want to make someone who defends our current bloated vaccine schedule and believes the science proves vaccines don't cause autism go bonkers, just mention unvaccinated kids.
How else to explain some of the altogether nutty things that have come out of the mouths of the vaccine schedule's designated defenders?
I'll start with the gold-standard for goofy-speak from Julie Gerberding, an answer so classic it should be entombed for posterity, triggered by a great question from our very own Dan Olmsted. . .
Dan Olmsted: Has the government ever looked at the autism rate in an unvaccinated U.S. population, and if not, why not?
Julie Gerberding: In this country, we have very high levels of vaccination as you probably know, and I think this year we have record immunization levels among all of our children, so to (select an unvaccinated group) that on a population basis would be representative to look at incidence in that population compared to the other population would be something that could be done.
But as we're learning, just trying to look at autism in a community the size of Atlanta, it's very, very difficult to get an effective numerator and denominator to get a reliable diagnosis.
I think those kind of studies could be done and should be done. You'd have to adjust for the strong genetic component that also distinguishes, for example, people in Amish communities who may elect not to be immunized (and) also have genetic connectivity that would make them different from populations that are in other sectors of the United States. So drawing some conclusions from them would be very difficult.
I think with reference to the timing of all of this, good science does take time, and it's part of one of the messages I feel like I've learned from the feedback that we've gotten from parents groups this summer (in) struggling with developing a more robust and a faster research agenda, is let's speed this up. Let's look for the early studies that could give us at least some hypotheses to test and evaluate and get information flowing through the research pipeline as quickly as we can.
So we are committed to doing that, and as I mentioned, in terms of just measuring the frequency of autism in the population some pretty big steps have been taken. We're careful not to jump ahead of our data, but we think we will be able to provide more accurate information in the next year or so than we've been able to do up to this point. And I know that is our responsibility.
We've also benefited from some increased investments in these areas that have allowed us to do this, and so we thank Congress and we thank the administration for supporting those investments, not just at CDC but also at NIH and FDA.

I'm sure Julie Gerberding had a point with her answer, for the life of me I don't know what it was.
Not to be outdone, Dr. Paul Offit recently got into the act with his own perspective on studying unvaccinated children (at least he concedes the studies don't exist):
"No studies have compared the incidence of autism in vaccinated, unvaccinated, or alternatively vaccinated children (i.e., schedules that spread out vaccines, avoid combination vaccines, or include only select vaccines). These studies would be difficult to perform because of the likely differences among these 3 groups in health care seeking behavior and the ethics of experimentally studying children who have not received vaccines."
Health care seeking behavior? Ethics of studying kids who haven't gotten vaccines?
Let me get this straight: we have the most complex and raging health epidemic amongst our kids in modern times, and no plausible explanation for cause from the mainstream authorities. Meanwhile, we have tens of thousands of case reports of kids regressing into autism after vaccination, but it's just too complicated and unethical to study unvaccinated kids?
"Health care seeking behavior" is the notion that parents who do not vaccinate their children may be less inclined to seek an autism diagnosis if there is a problem with their child's development. Fair enough, that MAY be true. But, in a well-designed study that issue could be dealt with in a very straightforward way: you independently evaluate every single kid for neurological disorders. Would that be expensive? Yes. Would it be thorough? Yes. Would it mitigate any issues related to health seeking behavior? Yes.
It's also interesting to consider a study completed by the CDC and published in Pediatrics, Children Who Have Received No Vaccines: Who Are They and Where Do They Live? The study noted:
"Unvaccinated children tended to be white, to have a mother who was married and had a college degree, to live in a household with an annual income exceeding $75,000, and to have parents who expressed concerns regarding the safety of vaccines and indicated that medical doctors have little influence over vaccination decisions for their children."
And, it continues:
"Why do some parents avoid vaccinating their children? Our results indicate that parents of unvaccinated children are much more concerned about vaccine safety than are parents whose children receive 1 vaccine dose. In a survey of parent's beliefs and practices regarding vaccinations and autism, siblings in families in which there was an autistic child were 3 times more likely to be unvaccinated, compared with siblings in families in which there was a child with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. In response to concerns about the perceived risk of autism resulting from vaccinations, parents might have avoided having their sons vaccinated at a higher rate than their daughters, as a result of knowing that they have risk factors for autism and knowing that the rate of autism is 4 times greater for boys than for girls."
What are the chances that white, upper middle-class families with an annual income in excess of $75,000 who are very concerned about vaccine safety don't pursue an autism diagnosis if their child is exhibiting the signs of autism? Probably close to nil, but science can still account for that.
Meanwhile, the only data that has ever considered unvaccinated children was done through a phone survey funded by Generation Rescue, the results are available here:

Generation Rescue analyzed the data provided by SurveyUSA, and a copy of our analysis can be found here. The most notable results of our survey are with the boys, which is not surprising considering boys represent approximately 80% of total cases of NDs. Namely:
All vaccinated boys, compared to unvaccinated boys:
- Vaccinated boys were 155% more likely to have a neurological disorder (RR 2.55)
- Vaccinated boys were 224% more likely to have ADHD (RR 3.24)
- Vaccinated boys were 61% more likely to have autism (RR 1.61)
Older vaccinated boys, ages 11-17 (about half the boys surveyed), compared to older unvaccinated boys:
- Vaccinated boys were 158% more likely to have a neurological disorder (RR 2.58)
- Vaccinated boys were 317% more likely to have ADHD (RR 4.17)
- Vaccinated boys were 112% more likely to have autism (RR 2.12)
(Note: older children may be a more reliable indicator because many children are not diagnosed until they are 6-8 years old, and we captured data beginning at age 4.)
One final point: the mainstream will never do a study of unvaccinated kids. They already fear what it will show, and the results for them would likely be cataclysmic. Their best bet is to invent reasons the study can't be done. It will be our community that will have to fund this study. It won't be cheap (my guess is $4-6 million). And, it will have to be constructed in such a way and managed by scientists in such a way that it has widespread credibility. When and how do we get from here to there?

Posted: 11/10/2009 10:06:33 AM | yes hysterical but im afraid myson nows better he was a victim . ive been asked today why the numbers of kids developing autism hasnt fallen as the mercury is out the vaccines , nope was still in them we wont no till 2012 if removing it has worked but there sure pushing it in other vaccines ..............Thimerosal was (unfortunately) NOT removed in 2002!, my pediatrician found a case of DTaP vaccine in 2003 with a 2005 expiration date on them (which we took to our State Capitol to prove to legislators Thimerosal had NOT been removed). In 2002 Thimerosal was re-introduced into the vaccine schedule through the flu vaccine with 12.5 mcg per infant shot. To compound the exposure, Pregnant mothers were encouraged to take the shot with 25 mcg exposing the fetus to mercury. According to the EPA government standards, a child must weigh 250 lbs to safely absorb the 12.5 mcg. The pregnant mother must weigh 550 lbs to safely absorb the shot containing 25 mcg. I believe we will have to wait until 2009-2012 to see if the REDUCTION of ethyl-mercury/thimerosal has reduced the incidence of autism. Thimerosal was REDUCED in vaccines, NOT REMOVED, the live virus vaccines do not contain Thimerosal, because the Thimerosal would kill the live virus). I also believe mercury, in a large number of cases, caused mercury poisoning. Mercury poisoning also mimics “symptoms” of autism. My child with “autism” suffers from a constellation of illnesses, oxidative stress, and a rare rheumatoid auto-immune disease. Her “autism” is not just from the neck up, or “all brain” related. Genetics are not the sole cause of her daily struggles, illnesses and suffering. I read the alphabet soup of government health agencies denying a link between MERCURY and AUTISM, but they cannot deny MERCURY EXPOSURE could cause MERCURY POISONING. A SAFE level of ethel-mercury via injection has NEVER been established. The vaccine was the delivery system for the poison. Any medical professional who claims even a trace amount of mercury is safe by injection, should return to elementary school for science class or have their medical license taken away. I hope the medical community and the government will someday rally around our children and find ways to help them instead of spending millions looking for an elusive autism gene that does not exist. These parents don't even understand the difference between methyl and ehtyl mercury. Essentially it's like saying water is an acid becase HCl (chemical symbol for hydrochloric acid) has hyrdrogen JUST like H2O does. How much sense does that make? Then they use the stats of methyl mercury to make ethyl mercury look like the culprit when they are COMPLETELY different compounds, JUST like water and hyrdrochloric acid.
And ETHYL MERCURY IS NOT THE SAME AS MERCURY
They want us to believe that all the medical progress has been made over the last 50 years like the reduction of polio and smallpox is a horrible creation. I know this is a tragic event and a life changing issue, but there is no science to back you. No evidence, no unbiased facts to support your claims. Even mercury poisoning really isn't a significant possibility as it usually requires a prolonged exposure.
Even with the reduction of your hated thermisol, autism rates STILL went up. How is that possible. Now that the witch has been burned, what witch do you pick next? | |

My son is autistic, and his doctor told me about that study just a month ago; I'm a teacher, and I decided to read the article myself. The July, 2006 issue of Pediatrics has an article regarding a study done in Quebec, where 28,000 children were exposed to different dosages of the measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine and vaccines containing the mercury-based preservative thimerosal. Researchers found no relationship between MMR vaccine exposure, thimerosal exposure and autism rates.
In fact, a higher incidence of autism was seen in Canadian children vaccinated after thimerosal was eliminated from vaccines than among children who received thimerosal-containing immunizations.
Now, this study was done scientifically, by doctors. SurveyUSA is a commercial polling agency that mostly works with businesses and corporations, so I wouldn't really trust their numbers. Basically, vaccines don't cause autism. | |

"1. Inactivated or "killed" vaccines: A chemical called formalin is used to kill the disease causing organism, but it still retain the antigen that triggers the body's immune response to create antibodies. Examples of this type of vaccine include the typhoid vaccine and the poliomyelitis vaccine.
2. Acellular vaccines: These vaccines use only the antigenic portion of the pathogen, such as its capsule, flagella, or protein cell wall. The Haemophilus influenzae B (HIB) vaccine is an example of an acellular vaccine. Since these vaccines don't produce a very strong immune response, they require a "booster" shot later on..
3. Attenuated vaccine: This type uses a weakened form or the live disease causing organism and creates the strongest immune response. Examples of attenuated vaccines include the one for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). Immunity lasts a lifetime.
4. Toxoid vaccine: The diphtheria and tetanus vaccines are examples of this type of immunization. They are made by using the toxin produced by the pathogen and then reducing its harmful affects with an aluminum salt. Toxoids require periodic booster shots.
5. Mimics: The vaccine for deadly smallpox was created this way by using the similar, but far less virulent, cowpox. In this instance, the immune response to the similar organism is enough to provide immunity.
6. Subunit vaccines: This recombinant DNA technology method of vaccine creation uses the genes of the pathogen that code for the parts of the organism that produce the strongest immune response. The genes are inserted into bacteria or yeast, which mass produce the desired proteins. These pathogenic but non-disease causing molecules can then be isolated, purified and used to produce the vaccine. The Hepatitis B vaccine is created this way."
