1. I sing in my car so much I can lose my voice on long road trips.
2. I can't wear open-toed shoes/sandals without having my toenails painted.
3. I work in a very serious profession and yet I am a "compulsive giggler" (his words, not mine!). | |

Posted: 3/23/2007 3:48:29 PM | 1. I drove to PEI once for ice cream (Cows ofcourse)...and to Portland Maine for fireworks....(No smuggling involved....honest.....lol)
2. People that wash their car and don't wash the wheels and tires bug the crap out me........
3. Garth Brooks tipped his hat to me during a concert because I was singing louder than he was......even after he stopped....lol... (Was a James Taylor song "Sweet Baby James" that he did acoustically during a medley of his favorite songs during a break....I mean c'mon everyone sings JT songs)
4. I have driven 1000 miles(each way) to see Jimmy Buffett in concert........5 times! | |

I am a newbie and was going through some of the threads and I gotta tell 'ya after this one, I feel I know you all way too much, too soon. :-)
So here are 3 of my top weird things:
1- Can't smell, as far as I know never have been able to. Was shocked to see someone else on this thread is in the same boat!
2- I am praised at work for my quick decision and organizational skills - but in my personal life....don't let me look at a menu in a restaurant, as it all looks good to me - can't make a decision and will usually change my order a couple of times before the waiter/waitress gets away from the table. I have wanted a dog all my life, and have been more seriously looking for one in the last year....have changed breeds, size wanted, male/female ect...so much I fear I might be in a senior's complex before making that decision. Hummm....now that I think about it, maybe all of this is a commitment issue - well now, that explains being single- doesn't it?? :-)
3- To add to the odd sandwich list: I am a peanut butter and cheese whiz kinda gal. (toasted or not)

Posted: 3/25/2007 6:06:40 AM | Oh Izz - I think I will have to e-mail you separately about this one, that's a whole thread of it's own - that no one else would "get".
-Being addicted to brushing teeth and having gum, as you can't tell when you have bad breath. (and let's not talk about morning breath paranoia)
-Having to have a best friend pick out perfume for you, and then not wearing it very often as you can't tell if you used too much.
-Going shopping with friends, and like you say they keep picking up stuff and asking you to smell it - depending on who it is, I have just gotten in the habit of nodding my head and saying "yeah, that great". As it's just easier than explaining.
-Going on a road trip and everyone else in the car is groaning about the skunk smell while I have the windows rolled all the way down in complete oblivion.
-Going to a restaurant and everyone is talking about the great smells and the memories they associate to them - meanwhile I haven't got a clue...
-Sick of when people find out that you can't smell, asking you if you taste....of course I can, maybe not as intense as everyone else - but I can.
-Have 2 or 3 more smoke detectors in the house than anyone else
But in the end of all the senses I guess this is the one to live without....

Posted: 3/25/2007 6:31:41 AM | If I had a dollar for every candle I have had shoved in my face .......My old line used to be " Now does that smell like sex or burnt toast?".....And that was immediately followed by a smirk and an "Oh yeahhhh" from the candle smeller....lol
You so know you are living my life in that fashion....The perfume thing is so funny. I have had women that soooo wanted me to wear this cologne or that one and it always makes me crazy about how much to put on......Only thing I have ever worn that smells is Polo Blue......deoderant....I mean you can't put too much of that on....lol

I love knowing there are peolle out there who are wayyyyy more "wierd" than I am ....LoL.
ok....here goes....
1) I CANNOT tolerate toilet paper put on the roller thingy "upside down"...in my eyes toilet paper MUST feed from the bottom not the top or when you pull it you get way too much paper!!!! If I am in someones bathroom and see it like that....I must correct it!!! Weird...I know.I even do it in public washrooms.
We must have consistency people!!!!!
2) I can't go shopping without a list.....I will buy everything I DON"T need and nothing that I DO.
3) If I see a loose screw or bolt on something....I have to tighten it....NOW!!!.....I don't know where this comes from but I can't walk away and leave it loose.I have a tool box in my truck so that I am never far away from a screwdriver or a couple of adjustable wrenches.I once was in a parking lot and saw a license plate hanging off this guys car.
You guessed it.....I got a screw and was tightening it back on so he wouldn't lose it and he walked up behind and wanted to know why the hell I was stealing his plates!!!!

3. When I get in a car, the first thing I have to do is roll down the window. Even -40 the window is rolled down at least an inch or two.
2. I can't stand an open cupboard door or an open drawer. No matter where I am, if I see one I HAVE to close it.
And my weirdest:
1. I still sleep with my childhood security blanket tucked under my pillow. Even when travelling the blanket comes with me. To be honest having been around for 40+ years, its less than a blanket now, its just a "rag" but its still security. | |

One of my weirdest things is tying shoes. I have to tie my right shoe first. If my left shoe comes untied, I have to re-tie the right one before I can re-tie the left one. | |

I rarely wear matching socks........ and it's not cuz i don't have any.. I don't know I always will have an undenyable urge to mismatch them when i put them on: orange and purple, Yellow and blue, but as I write this I realize I only ever match the socks if they're WHITE!!!! hmmmmmmm... | |
