Posted: 11/24/2007 7:33:40 PM | I GIVE UP! I have exhausted all the possibilities of what could be the problem that were recommended. I have absolutley no other problems whatsoever with seeing pics on any other web site I visit nor is any other web site taking FOREVER to load a page. Therefore, I am convinced that the problem lies within the POF web site itself and there seems to be no remedy and no one out there to offer any assistance than that of which was already given to me. 
| [ Your 2 Pics are showing up just fine, seems you just can't see them, hence the Links above, esp. those dealing with "Internet Options", making sure the Image Server ---> pics.plentyofsite.com is not blocked. Also check your Firewall make sure its not blocked there either. / Ticketoride] |

Posted: 11/25/2007 5:38:37 PM | Nothing from plenty of fish is blocked absolutely anywhere on my computer. I have done everything asked of me with assistance from someone else who has a knowledge of computers and still no luck, still see red x's and no pics and still taking forever just to upload a page when in the POF website. If I had similar problems with other websites then I would be convinced that a setting on my computer is wrong. On Thursday, everything was running fine, no one uses my computer but me, on Friday, ALL WENT BAD without me touching anything on my computer of changing any settings whatsoever so now what????????????? From reading all the posts in the forums this seems to happen quite often to a lot of people. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

What does that mean? Shouldn't it be looking up pics.plentyoffish.com???? Maybe there is a remedy to this, if so please advise, I will try Firefox at this time and see what happens. Thank you. | |

When I open up the POF web page, along with when I used Netscape browser, as the POF page is loading it says "Looking up pics.plentyofsite.com..." It's almost like it is searching for them but cannot find them, as I remain on the POF web page, I will look down at the status bar and will see that it does this (Looking up pics.plentyofsite.com...") periodically / off and on. I have gone on other singles websites only to test to see if images come up and they do, no blocks are in place on my computer for POF so I don't understand at all why I am having problems with the POF web site alone and no others. I assume your Mom does not live too far away ... how far away? Same ISP?

Posted: 11/25/2007 8:37:05 PM | My mom does not live far away, I even borrowed her laptop and compared all my settings, internet options, etc. to hers and we both were the same, but for some reason, POF is running on her computer and not mine, and yes she does have the same ISP, lives only 2 blocks away from me. While waiting for a response on this forum after I asked what pics.plentyofsite.com kept coming up for, I actually did go under firefox content tab to allow not only www.plentyoffish.com/ but allowed pics.plentyofsite.com as well and still NO PICS, all the animation is showing in the forum (smiley faces), just doesn't make any sense how Thursday I was fine, made no changes at all on my computer, then on Friday, no pic's showing up, web site running slow and formatting is different. So if I changed absolutely nothing from Thursday to Friday what is the reasoning that I have to do this, and this and that to troubleshoot to correct the problem when I did nothin myself to my computer in the first place to create the problem. Just very frustrating and unexplainable that this happened, makes no sense to me at all and I sincerely appreciate all the help given to me but I have gotten no where, wasted a lot of time on this and I can do nothing but cross my fingers in hopes that it is the web site itself and maybe one of these times that I log in everything will be fine and that this was all just a nightmare. Never imagined I would have to go through all this. Again thank you for your time and help but it seems that I cannot be helped and I have accepted that.

| That would just about preclude POF being the Source of your Troubles. The next Thing to look at are Trojans and Virus', lose Cable Connections, possibly a damaged/defective network Card/Modem. |

I was told to try to right click the red x and then click show picture, when I right click on the red x it specifically gives an option to block images pics.plentyofsite.com which means the site is allowing the pic's,. Okay so now that we know there is no block I right click the red x which also gives me an another option to "view image" so I click on "view image" and up pops a screen

My AIM messenger also will not let me log on and says "a server error occurred"
Maybe I am having wishful thinking but it seems as if I get this server thing resolved, I will be ok with being able to see the pics. I just don't know exactly what "can't find the server" means or what it is I have to do to "find it." My mother did a virus check on my computer and I am free and clear of any. Seems my problem lies within this server thing.

My mom's laptop is wireless as is mine but they are not hooked to the same wireless connection as mine. I have to stress that POF is the one and only website that I have come across that is giving me a problem viewing images, I am having no other problems at all. And again, even when POF pages load, it is sslllloooowwwww. Are you sure this is not a problem that is within POF? I have done everything possible on my end.

Of course, just on a whim I tried another picture to see and it will upload. (Of course it's not the one I want) The size and everything looks okay to me and the content is fine.
