| Image not showing up issues here... Posted: 12/10/2006 11:19:15 AM | Hopefully this is the right set of DNS server numbers (I have 4 rows of numbers!!)
192.168.2.1
Some of my images are showing up, but the one I have uploaded today is just showing a red cross. I am unable to delete any images either...don't know if this is part of the same problem??
Look forward to getting my pics back
Thanks | |

Not your DNS, the image server from HERE.
See post #31 Late, typing ipconfig/all at the command prompt only displays our own ISP's DNS Server Numbers. Can't see any POF Image Server DNS Numbers, if that's what you mean. Please clarify.

| Image not showing up issues here... Posted: 12/10/2006 10:22:43 PM | I looked up your ip (69.50.188.180) on google and there are pages and pages of links to spyware and browser hijackers.
Sounds like your computer is seriously infected.

| Images not showing up issues here...[Read the OP] Posted: 12/13/2006 9:47:48 AM | Most folks that are getting 192.168.xxx.xxx as DNS are going through routers (ex Dlink, linksys, netgear) they need to log in to the router and get the DNS if possible. To do so -go to start and then run -type cmd (winXP and 2000) and press enter -at the command prompt (in lamens term the black window that just opened with the flashing cursor) type "ipconfig" (minus the brackets) -check the number beside "default gateway" 192.168.xxx.xxx or whatever it is -open your browser and type the same # in the address bar no www in front -a window will pop up asking you user/pass (check your manual for that info unless you have changed it -once in the interface of the router look on top or on the left side for "setup" and then "status" or (sometimes status is on the 1st window when you login to the router), you will see IP address and DNS or static dns in that window and post them :D
Now don't go and change things in there if you don't know how it works cause if you do so no more POF for you and i am not responsible for you messing up :D

IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway (Your Router), DHCP Server (Your Router: if it's set up to act as a DHCP Server), and DNS Servers (Your ISP's DNS Numbers).
It's just a matter of reading the right line.

and what if the IP address and the DNS server show the same with the exception of the last 3 digits, it's still the router is it not?

Therefore, look for any set of numbers other than 192.168.xx.xx; Msg51 looks like a valid DNS Server Number.

oh I realize that the 198.168.xxx.xxx is the router - the implication you made, or so I understood, was that we didn't need to go through the following:
Most folks that are getting 192.168.xxx.xxx as DNS are going through routers (ex Dlink, linksys, netgear) they need to log in to the router and get the DNS if possible. To do so -go to start and then run -type cmd (winXP and 2000) and press enter -at the command prompt (in lamens term the black window that just opened with the flashing cursor) type "ipconfig" (minus the brackets) -check the number beside "default gateway" 192.168.xxx.xxx or whatever it is -open your browser and type the same # in the address bar no www in front (best format to enter would be http://192.168.xxx.xxx) -a window will pop up asking you user/pass (check your manual for that info unless you have changed it -once in the interface of the router look on top or on the left side for "setup" and then "status" or (sometimes status is on the 1st window when you login to the router), you will see IP address and DNS or static dns in that window and post them
hence when you said
I'm not sure they need to do all that. When I type ipconfig/all at the command prompt, I can see all of the following:
IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway (Your Router), DHCP Server (Your Router: if it's set up to act as a DHCP Server), and DNS Servers (Your ISP's DNS Numbers). I assumed, the DNS would be the "true one" - hence my question - no bigee.
You still need to go through the quoted steps to get the true one if running on a router.

| Images not showing up issues here...[Read the OP] Posted: 12/18/2006 9:31:33 PM | ^^^^^Well, Trap, I went through the motions of Msg64 (logged into my router's config interface) and got the SAME DNS Server Numbers as the ones I see in my command prompt window. Perhaps the folks who only see the DNS Server Numbers as 192.168.xx.xx in the command prompt window have configured their routers as Dynamic DNS. I'm not sure of this feature and have it disabled in my router since I'm not part of any domain.
BTW, (off topic) the underscore tags seems to be broken.
