I have met people on here that I would not have met elsewhere- Right now I'm seeing someone that I met on a catholic site, and so far it looks good. I have met good people here who became friends, even though the ones I had attempted to date here didnt work out.
I would still recommend this site.

eh is a waste of time, and money. Both. Been there, done that, they were too cheap to gimmie a damn tshirt. I think I had all of 3 dates from there. What a waste...

and of course according to eh, it takes up to a year to find someone, at their prices...sheesh...day after my thingie expired, I got like 17 new matches, lol!

My experience has been that, any reputable online dating website will yield satisfactory results, if one works at it a bit. My problem with eharmony would be the 3 year age range, which, to me, seems awfully restrictive. Other than that, I don't see a benefit compared to POF or AOL, both of which are free.

It's definitely expensive. I prefer POF over it for sure, so far. Right now, eHarmony has a promotion going for the weekend where you can communicate WITHOUT SEEING PHOTOS for this weekend only. You can only see the photos when you pay their high prices. Almost everyone wants to have some idea of who they are talking to, so I'd say this offer is pretty meaningless.

After 4 months on eharmony I met "a" ,as in only 1, lady.
We had a typical coffee date interview (I hate those) Nothing to write to mom about from our date. I am thinking that it may be in eharmony's business interest to purpously missmatch you.???? about 300 matches and not hardley a nibble on the hook? Hmmm. I agree that it is nothing it brags itself up to be. Many other sites I have had no luck with as well. Lavalife I have had moderate success with.

what I got in POF while I was dating was just mostly fun.

what I got in eharmony was - serious communication, and more or less compatible matching.

As to paying eharmoy $50.00 a month, well, each date when you go to restaurant etc, costs that much and more. If you are having at least one date a month, it's better to have it with more comptaible person than from somoen from this site, who has a nice photo and anyone can contact her, which makes them also confused and not focused. So, it's irrelevent to me. If you are a regular dater, say 3-5 dates a month, it is even more irrelevent, I mean the cost of that site you are complainign.

I realized that about match too. So I decided to update my profile and say in it "I'm a paid member and can read and respond to your messages"

I have found that if you take the time,,,the people you meet on these paid sites, also have a profile on the free sites. Case in point, my current fella I met on Yahoo, he also has a profile on here. Could have saved my money and wrote him here. As for the paid sites, most will write a letter or two and then poof,,,,gone. eharmony did nothing for me,,,joined about four years ago and all I got were men 5 or 6 hrs away,,,,who is going to drive that far for a stinking cup of coffee,,,and as far as the religious sites,,,well saw at least two men that were married,,,one was my friend's husband,,,,,

I joined E-harmony when I was 46. They had a 15YEAR upper limit on the women's profiles which I could not change. So that meant I could be contacted by 61 year old men -- most of them were that old or close.

They are very careful to match PERSONALITIES only -- and NOT interests.

I happen to be very outdoorsy and active. I am normally approached by men a little yournger than me when I meet in real life. I really want an activity partner for LTR, and have no interest AT ALL in meeting someone who has no common interests with me.

So a very inactive old man with no intersts in common (or no interests at all) was most likely who I would be introduced to.

Hi guys from Ireland!! I am thinking e harmony is aanother site?. Think I,v had it with these sites to be honest. Was on an Irish site for a year and changed over to POF in November. Only discovered this week that you dont see my Profile in the USA unless you type in Members in Ireland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoying the chat with a few Members here but....................really all that time online here has been wasted.

E-Harmony is a crock. I tried it over a year ago, and despite filling out the lengthy questionnaires and requesting only matches with photos on their profiles, I got "matched" with profiles that had no photos and users who had left every single profile question blank. I did get a lot of matches, but I believe that quality if matches if far more important than quantity.

what gets me, is I just read the BBB's page on E-Harmony, and they give it a A+ rating
when the user reviews give it a zero, with some very nasty sounding letters about how
unethical this company is , in my opinion, this company should be charged with fraud and tossed in jail, they suck!!

Yes Dini519 ... that's when I tried eHarmony too!
I "reviewed" my matches ... none of which I was able to see pics.
I had countless "replies" to my inquiries ... but I could not view any of them!
I did NOT sign up ... and I received e-mails from eHarmony for at least 2-3 months later ... almost daily ... saying how I was missing the love of my life and offering the next steps I should take to make "it" happen! I think they are not used to people actually refusing their service!
From what I've read in the previous posts to this thread ... a LOT of POF'rs have tried eHarmony and have had much less success there .. than they have had here.
At least here ... men reach out to me ... and I make friends ... (and date some on occasion). But overall, I have to say ... I've had much better "success" on this site ... than I expect I would have had on any other. Thanks ... POF guys!!

HotorNot is doing the same thing... Spoofing fake profile pictures sending you meeting requests... So you say yes and it double matches.. Then they make you pay to contact, then you send an email... You don't have any answer... Then the girl's profile turn to "This persons currently does not accept emails".

Go to e-Harmony and take their test just to be able to read about how they pimp your personality. It helps to know what makes you a good person when you go to make up your profile on the free sites. Also, it gives you a detailed description of what your ideal mate would be like, which is encouraging to read. Even if he doesn't exist.

TradurGurl's thought is much like my own. I had a paid membership at least twice during past 5 years, and nothing. I was beginning to wonder if my personality was inconsistent with my lifestyle, or perhaps I had a totally inacurate view of myself, because they would match me with people who were over achievers, couldn't sit still, etc. After hearing some recent success stories (even read somewhere that e-H was responsible for 2% of weddings in the US in 2006? that's like Wal-Mart's percentage of the US GNP!), I decided to give it another try over the last "free" weekend. I started from scratch - new user name, did the personality questionnaire, etc. Same result-nothing! I start wondering what I could possibly have said in my profile that no one wanted to communicate, must be something I did, and then I read these threads on POF and realize it's not just me - e-H may work for some, but it doesn't work for a lot of us. Cost-benefit for e-H? Several hundred dollars and no dates. On POF, zero dollars and approx. 10 dates. I think I'll stick with POF.

I'm feeling you on this. However I've still got 2 and a half months left on my subscription. I'm not going to meet anyone at this rate regardless of what site I'm on. Just too ugly apparently. Oh well. EHARMONY, SINGLESNET, YAHOO PERSONALS, DATEHOOKUP, MYSPACE, MATCH.COM, AND POF (or POS)....all suck!!!!!

I joined after my divorce. They gave me about 15 matches and not one of whom I had the least bit in common with. After answering 500 questions about everything from age and education to salary requirements and religion they for some reason thought I would be interested in unemployed fat guys that worship Satan.
