Posted: 4/6/2005 1:16:37 AM | | I can totally understand when women reject someone who is a creep/loser/sexual predator or whatever. My only complaint is that sometimes the list of criteria and selection process gets a little excessive. Think also of how many good looking, intelligent guys who are not creeps probably get ignored and rejected too because their profile was missing some trifle nitpicky thing. That's not giving a person much of a chance, that's like looking for any excuse to reject. So many variables to satisfy. Its unrealistic to expect to find a guy who can meet a lengthy list of requirements. Keep it within reasonable limits. We all have faults and no one is perfect. Women are lucky that guys put up with all that crap and keep coming back for more. What if guys were just as demanding? How would they like it? Love is about meeting face to face, chemistry, and forming an emotional bond, not about fulfilling a list of requirements like "does he make between 25,000-35,000 a year" or whatever. This online dating stuff is making a science or an economic equation out of love. Finding a mate is like feeding a probability matrix into a computer to see if your match is compatible. It becomes impersonal and dehumanizing. OK, enough ranting about this, I'm getting sick of it! | |

But none of them worked out. All I can say is oh well. This is just another medium for which to meet people, 'tis life.

Posted: 4/6/2005 2:48:48 AM | Read alot of the messages here ... I used this site for over a yr. Yeah I found some jerks, but I didn't give up. I wrote someone ... taking a chance, I am a larger woman ... but, that is beside the point ... he wrote me back ... we talked on the phone one day for 8 hrs and the next day it was 5 hrs. He had to work, so we got on the pc and chatted each nite. That weekend he drove 2 hr and 45 min. to come and see me. We have been together ever since and are now engaged. I am thankful to POF for their free site, and sending me my Coolray and I am his Mustang Sally for life. Yes, we are older ... but just goes to show there is true love out there ... you just have to give it time. Thanks again to the staff of POF. To all of you

You know you are fishing for a mermaid in a pool of sharks....but you know shes there. Keep throwing your line in.....how long have you been on? It took 180 some odd days for me to get "THE message". Headed out to go bowling but got sidetracked by drinks with music trivia and really bad wings. Followed up by laughter filled poker at the casino. Cab ride home.....yada yada yada. the point is...the ones that will reject you for perceived faults even before they meet you, no message back/nasty message/blowoff message etc, are the girls that you dont want ANYWAY! You must admit that you dont want everyone on POF. There are the ones that just dont do it for you.You are looking for ONE girl. Out of HUNDREDS. There are girls that wonder silently why you dont contact them. To afraid to make the first move. Trust me man.....she's out there.....and if someone disses you in the process of finding her....lord have mercy on the sorry lad that she picks! Cheers brother!  | |

what a boring world we would live in! You have to be yourself and upfront .. I was ... my line was Not a BullS*****! LOL! I'm not ... was open and honest all the way ... well talked about our likes and dislikes ... even our flaws ... lord knows I have mine ... and he still loves me and I do him ... He was the one that took me to the jewerly store as a surprise ... I had no idea! You count you blessings everyday for who you are and what you have ... and like I said .. Females have a lot of choice to pick from but guys don't have. Mayber its because females always feel that they are not supposed to be the initiaters and Guys look at themselves as the major role player and so he must start and initiate every thing. I actually came on the site today to cancel my profile becuase I found the love of my life 6 months ago on this site. In fact, we're now engaged! I've been so happy that I've just been ignoring all the other emails I've been getting from ladies who have seen my profile, and well I feel bad about that, so I need to cancel my profile.
My point is this...everyone's experience is different, but mine was out of this world. Keep up the hope, it will happen somehow! | |

But yeah, it's going incredibly well so far, and like someone stated earlier, the statistics are overwhelming...I mean...I seriously feel as though I've found the one to grow old with...she's just amazing.
One in a hell, I don't know how big the numbers are, but she's one in amillion...no..she's just one. There is no one like her, everything about her screams perfect. What's so amazing is that I just stopped browsing..and posting on the forums as well, and then it just happened, she had read one of my posts and really liked what I had to say and we started talking and WOWZAZ!!! Ya know? It's just still totally blowing me away. So a word of advice POST DAMMIT!!!! lol...and to all of the others who have found someone...Best of luck to all the couples. i didnt meet him on this site but i made some fantastic friends on and offline the guy i met was a friend of mine for 10 years he was in a relationship when we were friend i let him go i had small feelings for him but never told him we saw each other by accident and we did chat etc then he left her and is single but we continued chatting he kept asking for my phone number and i gave it to him but he never called till one day he was there with his daugther and i did give him my phone number again thinking he wont call but he did this time and well we been together since yeah we did have a rough week this week but he finally called me and everything is fine we saw each other today and it was like nothing happend | |
