| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/25/2006 3:11:03 PM | | I personally have had several friends killed or seriously injured riding bikes, as well as myself having had a bike dropped on my knees from one sliding out from under the driver while throwing a temper tantrem in my 20's. They took a curve to fast, hit the gravel on the shoulder and lost control. I have only been in Florida a little over a year and watch the way a good number of bike owners ride and it's very dangerous for them and the rest of traffic. Cutting in and out of traffic at high speeds. I also have a hard time with the loudness of the mufflers on most bikes, be they Harley or Honda. I realize that not all bike owner are irresponsible, but I have learned to be cautious around them. | |

If I could drive I would be driving one of my own! ;) I am visually impaired (no peripheral field -- will be abe to see your smling face, but not the kiss you throw my way) and I love ridng on the back of a motorcycle -- it is exhilerating!!
There are women out there who do love them!

| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/26/2006 3:55:00 PM | | Yes, I think many women are probably scared off by bikes and bikers. However, if biking is a big part of your life, it shouldn't be concealed. You deserve to have someone who shares one of your biggest interests in life. And there seem to be plenty of women interested in bikers/biking. I just think they are too dangerous, no matter whether it is the fault of the biker or of a vehicle driver - dead right is the same as dead wrong. I like a/c and a roof over my head. :-) And I do agree with some of the responses that it IS a lifestyle (not indicative of a particular profession). And it is not for everyone. I think the real question you need to ask yourself is: are the women who do answer your ad the type of women you are looking for? If so, you probably didn't need to ask this question. If you are not getting the responses you had hoped for, you might need to think about whether you want to spend your golden years with a Harley, or ??? | |

| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/27/2006 12:31:07 AM | Harleys rock and I like them and some men who ride them. All bikes are nice however I do find I am very cautious about dating some biker types. Those are the fanatic born again dried out old hard core dudes. They have some big problems I do not want to deal with. like Hep, alcohol, drugs and a history of various STDs. Has nothing to do with the bike they just seem to gravitate toward bikes. Some men use a bike to compensate for being short, fat, ugly or stupid. Does not help.
I know attorneys, doctors, very wealthy men who love to ride for fun and they are great guys. Like sports, riding can become an obsession so I do use caution there too. No girl wants a man who loves his bike, gambling, football or whatever more than he loves her. So no not scared off by the bike, be it a Harley or one with peddles.

| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/27/2006 2:55:10 AM | ^^^^^^
OP asks if women are scared off by harleys?
NOT this one!
I, however, will not ride with just anyone -- I don't care if it's a $70,00++ custom Harley and he's the best looking man I've ever seen!! If he is inexperienced and irresponsible (riding, drinking, drugs), I wouldn't ride to the corner with him.
The men I've had the privilege to ride with are mostly educated professional men who have other interests as well-- yet love to ride and are very safety conscious, experienced riders (years), and not at all caught up in the Harley name. Whether they ride Hondas or Harleys, or some other make, makes no difference to me as long as the bike is well-maintained and large enough for two to ride comfortably.

| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/27/2006 5:15:32 AM | | IF YOU CAN'T PICK UP A CHICK IN fLORIDA ON A HARLEY YOU SHOULD PROBABLY BE RIDING A HONDA............................. | |

| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/27/2006 8:12:02 AM | I am not into harleys or any other type of bike. When bikers e mail me I tell them that and I never hear from them again. I don't like getting my hair messed up, having the wind rip across my face, or risk death or serious physicial injury. Riding a bike is probably the last thing I would like to do. Please no nasty e mails, that is my point of view and the dude asked.
But I don't really think though that a couple has to have all the same interests for a relationship to work, although the more things you have in common the better. I think you shouldn't worry about what most women like or want, instead you should let women know what you are like as a person.
You say you are well dressed and have a good job, but then your user name is "reelcrazy". What type of women do you think you are going to attract with that user name. I think you should re-write your profile and let women know what you are like and maybe talk about some of the things you are looking for in a woman.
Also please keep in mind that when you have an online profile or are dating you are going to be rejected. I have e mailed men and not gotton a response back. I have went on dates and been blown off. Its not fun, but it happens to everyone. But if you want to find someone you have to get out there and make it happen.
I hope this has helped you and I hope you find someone nice to go out with. Hillary

| Are women scared off by harleys Posted: 12/27/2006 9:14:39 AM | uh oh, mrtodd, then if you want to meet someone then you need to rethink your priorities. Children emulate their parents so if they are tyrants then you need to change parenting techniques or maybe you are just dating the wrong types of women. If a woman has had any contact with children -- she should know that children will be children.
Good luck!!! | |

I have simply had some orthopedic & spine problems & feel that I am better off not riding motorcycles. I have partied with the best of them though!
