...first time i got turned down i was devestated...not so much cuz he was "all that" but just the rejection you feel.. ick!
After that I would drop hints, if he seemed interested i would ask

What the hell is a hint, I mean come on, is it that hard for a girl to ask a guy out, I have never been approached or asked out, man it's annoying?
I have asked a guy for his phone number before and been turned down.....it took alot of courage for me to do that and the I was rejected.....I didn't even want to date him, just hang out, go for coffee and talk as we had quite a bit in common. So, yes it is hard to ask....especially if you have been turned down before. | |

I thought that in todays modern age many women were like me. But, from reading these forums I realize that there are many inmature people and many unhealthy relationships out there. Scary. Now specifically about you. I think from your pic you are cute. If I saw you in a pub playing in a band would I ask you out? Probably not! Why? Cause you are assummed to be the been around, groupy, one night stand type of guy. And I am so ashamed to say because I don't like to assume or generalize anyone's character but when I am choosing a man I am a bit judgemental. Which is too bad. Cause I could be dating a fantastic, sexy, faithful, clean, talented musician that sings me to sleep every nigh but I'm not 'cause I judged and never gave him the chance. The stats just dont play in your fav when you ask the guys outs........however that being said, two of my exs who I'm still very good friends with were asked out by me. I dont see the big deal. If you want something instead of complaining about it, just go ahead and ask for it. | |

Posted: 2/7/2006 9:49:22 AM | It sure would be flattering if they did! Being asked for a phone number, or for a date, it should be received as quite the compliment and deemed very flattering.
But when a female turns and says..."just kidding!"...oh boy...talk about having a One Way sign on a dead end street! Seen it happen, witnessed it. Talk about ripping the heart out like the Alien! He was crushed, and we circled the wagons around him...all the while she's getting hi 5's from her cluster of friends.
This guy was totally blinded (mentally) by this one girl's action...and forever scarred by it. All I was to the scene was a witness, and it sent chills up my spine! Whew, god hoping that was a one time bad deal.
I'm not saying every single female does this...of course they don't. I just wanted to relate a story that goes with the subject matter...in no way am I stereotyping females who ask guys for numbers/dates. Just wanted to clear that up before negative comments are formed.
Conclusion, and maybe could be taken as advice as well...go into such a venue with an open mind, and a mental escape plan as well I suppose. Be ready for anything. If it can happen once, it certainly will happen again. Go into that situation thinking worse-case-scenerio, and at least if it backfires, there is some damage control. If not, then you are on your way!

Posted: 2/7/2006 10:21:22 AM | i have been ask out a lot over the years by woman. i never turned any of them down either. i have no idea why they asked me out. but then again im kind of shy and maybe some one told them that. its allways been a mystery to me. but i can say that it was allways a good thing.

Women like to be chased cause this makes them feel more womanly, desired, wanted, etc. Face it, if you sit around waiting for a girl to do the chasing, you might miss out on the right one for you. So men, get off your ass and take a chance. You have nothing to lose and a hell of a lot to gain. | |
