An issue for me would be if a 5'10" woman approached my weight. Then I'd have an initial concern, but it's not a deal breaker.

Posted: 12/16/2006 4:40:28 PM | At 5' 11" the tallest girl I've ever gone out with was 6" 2" which didn't bother me until I picked her up. She was wearing a pair of come f*ck me pumps and was now more like 6' 6"-6' 7" and that was a little weird. So to level the the playing field after dinner I change plans and we went bowling instead. That made cut her down to a more reasonable height.

1 ) They don't ask you to reach for any thing
2 ) If they use your car they don't leave the seat all the way up

Posted: 12/16/2006 4:59:55 PM | Well I know all too well about this... my girlfriend is 5'10' and so am I according to my profile... well at least I thought I was until this sexy Giraffe walked into my life... when I stand beside her it becomes obvious that she is taller then me... so we have a problem here... either I am 5'9" or she is 5'11"... She suggested she could be an inch out... what a sweetie... :p I tend to agree with her, although truth be told, I am more like 5'9" I guess... I chalk it up to old age and showering twice a day, I am shrinking...
Regardless, the best relationship ever for both of us, going very strong now and continuing to get even better...
Height only matters if you are concerned what others think about you...
Besides, the majority of us are the same height when in bed...

You have to read for comprehension. The post seeks male advice regarding how they feel about dating a woman in the top 1 percentile of height. Not how other 1 percentile height women feel about dating shorter guys. There are hundreds of other redundant useless threads on PoF where you can "look down" on men shorter than yourself. In those threads you can post your negative trolling thoughts.
My opinion on tall women not finding suitable tall guys to date is this: those guys are in short supply because all women regardless of their height just flock to those guys, they are essentially like PoF "hot chicks" that get bombarded with responses they can't humanly respond to in a polite way, and they can pretty much cherrypick whoever they want to date.
If a tall woman wants to improve her dating prospects, she should get past the "primordial" BS excuses for a woman to seek a tall guy to feel "feminine", "protected", whatever, start looking at "who" a guy is instead of "what" a guy is. She would then stand a way better chance to find a guy with other compatible qualities. The OP is wise enough to feel this way; she asked how guys view a taller woman, guys responded, BND you didn't add anything to the discussion, you tried to highjack the thread, that is why you are a troll.
Of course anybody can post in any thread according to PoF rules; there are lots of posts I could add useless sarcastic inane comments to steer the thread off track, I try to follow the rules.  | |

The topic was about do guys care if the girl is taller (the answer to this is "no"); and you come in and post that you could never date a shorter guy. If this was called the "let's bash short guys" thread, then you would be on topic. But you were off topic, and the comment was negative/nasty, so that makes it "troll" status.

For me personally, I do have a preference, although this hasn't really been an issue yet, but I prefer she be 5'10 or less so she doesn't tower over me. Now, if she was a real sweatheart and was six foot tall and didn't care I was shorter than I wouldn't not date her because of a height issue. And if she outweighs me that's fine too, as long as I'm attracted, not like I'm going to weigh her to find out anyway lol.
Now for your average guy, I think they are less likely to approach girls taller than themselves. Read all the shortman threads on here, and it's clear women prefer to have a height disadvantage compared to the man they're dating. So basically, a lot of us assume that we shouldn't bother with taller women, even if it doesn't bother us. Also, I think most men have a mild preference to being the taller partner. It's not set in stone like it is for most women, but a lot of men do have an image in their heads of how a couple is supposed to look. One thing I'm pretty sure on is we don't care about towering over though, same size is fine (preferred in my case), and we definitely don't need to be a foot taller than our date.
I think your average guy who's an inch or two shorter probably won't have an issue with it, more than that a little more likely, but even then probably not. I would suggest maybe putting in your profile that you don't mind shorter guys, but if you don't want to be half a foot taller you might want to mention this as well. (Yes a few on here might take issue with such a statement, but I think you have the right to whatever you might prefer, and stating so makes it easier for everyone.)
