| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 12/26/2006 12:02:25 AM | Speaking of shallow, this is something I see all too often and it is REALLY sad. There's this woman pretending to be a Bollywood film star! When I questioned her on it, she of course didn't reply and deleted my email. Why would anyone fake their identity? It seems rather sad to put up pictures of a beautiful woman to draw in men. This girl obviously suffers from low-self-esteem. I can't believe how many men have fallen for it as well! She is getting high scores for pictures that aren't even really her and she appears on multiple people's favorites lists! There are going to be A LOT of disappointed guys when they actually meet up with her. Just check this out, it is the epitome of sadness.

| Zero to do with being shallow! Posted: 12/26/2006 12:26:51 AM | When I was 17, I was really attracted to a man in his early 40s. I didn't want to get involved with him because of his age, nevertheless, I found him totally sexy. Your age may rule you out with this woman, but I think the real reason you are ruled out is that she's just not into you.
The thing that puzzles me is I'm one of the nicest guys she's met. She admitted it. But yet, I'm not her type.
Do you honestly think women, who find you "nice", should automatically be into you? I can assure you that being "nice" is definitely not enough! Now don't despair mister! You claim that you can't attract women - can't you just accept that you don't attract THAT woman. Have to say though, if you are convinced that you can't attract women, you are not very likely to attract many. The more attractive you feel yourself to be, the more attractive you are going to be. You do not have to be good looking to feel attractive. You need to know who you are, accept who you are and be truly happy to be who you are. Then you are not afraid to BE YOURSELF! That does not mean all women will be into you! I wouldn't expect or even want all men to be into me. I believe that certain traits I have should put certain men off - men who just would not be suited to me. It does not mean the men won't find me to be extremely nice, and sweet or whatever. It just means that the emotional/intellectual attraction (which for me is connected with physical attraction), won't exist.
When you are truly yourself, you should NOT actually attract everyone - you should attract those you will CONNECT with in that special way.

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 12/26/2006 4:26:16 PM | Why even bother trying to get with a young chick? She hasn't blossomed yet. Just be friends. Stop with the whining. When people whine, it makes them look pathetic. I have friends like this and I'm like GOODNESS! Are you serious? YOu must be blind, evidently, she does not feel attracted to you, so move on. Who cares about, what if we weren't coworkers, would you go out with me? Yeah, as friends, but not trying to get to know you. Just be happy you guys are friends/co-workers.
May GOD shower you with LUCK!

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 12/26/2006 5:02:29 PM | Tombstone T: Why not?
The characters involved may be animated but, I think you'll find, they're drawn by real people, their dialogue is written by real people and their observations are very.... well... real.
It's a perfect example of how statistics have no real purpose save to assist beauracrats in obtaining more funding and allowing various governments to dupe their citizens into paying more taxes.
The programme's primary purposes may have been to evoke hilarity but the subtext discusses something very real and, in any event, the entire ludicrous context of the simpsons served my purpose well. It illustrated how ludicrous statistics are.
"I'm looking at things from a much broader view, than "accepted norm" it's called THINKING".
Translation: I realise my views are indefensible so I'll just claim I was being esoteric.

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 12/26/2006 6:34:50 PM | Funny that all women in this thread defend the facts that she not is a slut - or what is a slut? Many 19-20 years old eyed me a lot when I was 33. Is that wrong? I did not go out witrh anyone more than 2 to 3 years younger then. Today, I want someone mature, I dont care about the age but let's say over 30.
He likes her, he asked her like a gentleman would. Just like older women asked me out when I was a young man. But if a woman asks you to back off, take it literally and don't ever try again to ask again her no matter what. Just move on. You need to respect her choices. It's a free world!!!!...with laws.
Women are shallow and it really shows in every day life and evry encounter. So, women, why dont you have character and admit it. You're ,as usual, on the defensive.

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 12/26/2006 6:48:27 PM | OMG Don't appreciate you generalzing all women based on a 19 year old!!!
She works under you? Whelp, you are getting WAY too personal in your work discussions! A good range for dating is 10 years younger /10 years older... a 19 year old probably thinks you're ancient!
WAY too much pressure to ask a woman if they would date you if you weren't a co-worker!!! Quit asking shyt like that!
She's young and dumb.... we all have to learn... she has a lot of growing up to do!

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 1/23/2007 3:26:21 PM | | not to sound like a **** but to save you any future pain shes made it quite obvious shes just not into you. shes using your age, your job title and all of that stuff as an excuse so that she doesnt have to blunt with you. | |

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 1/23/2007 3:31:33 PM | ahahah YES THEY CAN! The amount of girls that sleep around you wonder why the word slut is such a derrogatory term. It's fashionable nowdays to sleep with everyone. Well yes of course some us still have morals and not everyone is like that. Dude I know how you feel, if I could count how many times i've personally had, or read stories similiar i'd write three pages. It's one of those funny paradoxical things I guess if they can find someone willing to give it a shot they won't but then again dude some girls get so excited by all the attention they'll embrace it as much as they can hence falling for every "hottie" they see. I wouldn't expect much from a 19 year old either I mean just beacuse you hit 19 doesn't mean you're mature as it obviously shows. Growing up's not a matter of choice it's a matter of wait and see.
Malice35 you can't be serious with that reply? He was rather descriptive with the info he gave and it sounds like she's an utter cow. Believe it or not some guys don't want girls who want to "rock the boat" or in the girl's case he's talking about more like a thrashing. I'm just trying to find the point in the forum where you all turned and started blaming him instead of her, after all; girls are so innocent.

If that were truly the case, the OP wouldn't keep asking this same woman out now would he? It seems to me that you are missing the point. This isn't a men vs women thing. This is a man bashing a woman that won't date him thing.

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 1/26/2007 6:50:05 PM | Okay, Tex_Mex let's look at what you wrote:
Your thesis:
Women can be really shallow.
Premise 1: She's young and stupid.
My company recently hired a young lady (19 going on 20)... All you have to do is look at her habits.
Premise 2: You're over 12 years older.
I'm not her type. Too old (you think 33 is old?)
Your confusion:
I don't know what is wrong with me, but I just can't attract women.
Inferences: You like a girl much younger than you for her looks, because she's obviously not very intelligent or mature as you've described her, and forget being 33 - what an age differential: 12 years! What do you REALLY want her for? I thought so!
Conclusion: YOU'RE shallow too and deluding yourself. That's what's wrong.

just beacuse you hit 19 doesn't mean you're mature as it obviously shows.
And just because you are 24, doesn't mean mean you are mature either.
Growing up's not a matter of choice it's a matter of wait and see.
I'll keep waiting, but I don't see it in you yet.
I'm just trying to find the point in the forum where you all turned and started blaming him instead of her, after all; girls are so innocent.
He's 33, she's 19 and *works* under him. First off, he's an idiot, if he continues to try and pusue it with her, or alternately gives her bad reviews and other crap for not wanting to date him, he's setting himself up for a sexual harrassment/discrimination suit. That certainly shows the OP's immaturity. And the fact that he hasn't gotten slapped with any of the above probably shows her *maturity* at putting up with *him*.
Nobody said she was "innocent", she's just (gasp!) *not interested in him*. If he can't accept that and let it go, and if you can't, then hate to tell you, thats *your* (you and the OP's) immaturity showing, not hers. She may very well be (and probably is) somewhat immature, given her age, but heck, she's 19, she's young and having a good time, whats wrong with that? She's made some bad choices in relationships...gee, I'm sure there's *none* of us here, far older, that have done that!! She'll learn, and mature from it, we all learn from our mistakes.
Geez, if you've got nothing better to do than bash a girl who probably just graduated HS and is in her first real job, trying to do something with her life... well, I think *you* need a life.

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 1:13:11 PM | Tex-Mex...you sound so english... :).....with your vocab Would you really want to spend your time and energy on someone you THINK is shallow??? Why would you exert all that energy if you feel she is that way?
I would not call that young lady a slut or other names...she sounds inexperienced due to her age, perhaps confusing sex with love. Many women do this. Do you know it's an inner drive for so many people(not just women)to find love and acceptance that they will go to any means in which to find it? Perhaps that is how she is going about it?
It's nice that you finally figured that there are other women out there and searching elsewhere.

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 1:23:03 PM | | OMG YOU ARE 14 YEARS OLDER THEN HER AND YOU ARE WONDERING WHY SHE SAID HOW YOU ARE TOO OLD ???? U ARE SAYING HOW SHES SHALLOW??? SHE'S 19 AND SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO EXPLORE THINGS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT SHE WANTS. YOU ARE 33 AND SINGLE AND YOU THINK HOW 19 YEAR OLD SHOULD SETTLE DOWN ? CMON !!! | Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 1:28:07 PM | | OP...I am 40 and work with alot of young (18-22) attractive women...well they work for me. First, she is a normal 20 year old. They want beefcake, period the end. A few might be different, but most aren't. Second, nothing you tell her will alter that. Third, don't get too personal with her, comes off as creepy. And finally...in her world YOU ARE OLD!!!! But heck, so am I! | |

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 1:39:23 PM | | several things you dont do... never date a neigbor.... never date someone that young... and never never dip your wick in company ink. its just not worth it. if she is only 19 she has no life experience. | |

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 1:42:09 PM | Hey Tex Mex - If you come up with a solution for this girl you should tell yourself the same thing. It looks like you both have the same problem with trying to get approval, love, or nuturing from something that isn't going to approve of you, love you, or nuture you. My advice: start getting your approval, love and nuture from someone that will give it to you. Starzygurl | |

| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 2:02:26 PM | | you need to wake up right here and now, stay away from 19 yr olds!,she's still a kid,the maturity part of her isn't even developed yet, can't you figure that out? She's not shallow at all, thats just normal behavior for that age, especially girls, their behavior is mostly dictated by their ever changing hormonal brain chemistry which is in constant flux, especially if its a certain time, you should aim for older woman ,see ya. | |
|
| Women can be really shallow. Posted: 2/6/2008 2:15:40 PM | Ok, she's NINETEEN! That's why she's shallow.
As for Trancendently Tina's posting "She did say NO when she said you were too old and a co-worker, it was her way of being polite. When you keep asking and asking it makes you seem desparate and likely creepy." Actually, it's called sexual harassment. Since she's your employee, you could lose your job if you keep asking her out and approaching her romantically.
Find someone closer to your own age and you'll find they've outgrown some of these shallow traits. For heaven's sake, make sure they aren't a subordinate at work!
