Posted: 12/17/2006 4:46:03 PM | My mom got all the wrapping genes in our family. I reject everything that makes her happy. This one time she went out of town for the week, and I killed all of her houseplants.
I use those gift bags things, since I really suck at wrapping presents. Like the OP, I use a lot of tape, mostly to flatten the bubbles created by unevenness. This year I think I'll make sure whatever I buy comes housed in an easily duct taped box. Everyone will hate me, which is of course, my mission. | |

or watch a family member or friend, who is really good at it. I used to really suck at
wrapping & I also did not want to pay someone else to wrap it. I took my son to get
his picture taken with Santa at the old Woodward's building, & there was a wrapping
kiosk, right next to it. The line-up was huge, so I ended up watching these people &
it ain't brain surgery, dude! It's actually easy, once you get the hang of it. Takes a
little practice, but it's really not that hard.
Another option: go buy gift boxes, at the dollar store. They're pretty, look already
wrapped, & just a couple pieces of tape & viola, finished!

I love your thinking. I think i need to do the duct tape thing. actually, I think I'm going to do that to some "stocking stuffer" things =) Everyone thinks I'm a jerk anyway, so whats a little duct tape going to do =)
Side note: I'm "that guy" who puts a cd in like a TV-Box =) | |

It has almost gotten out of hand. Last year, (I think) the one got the other a ring ( maybe a Superbowl ring or some such from a pawn shop or whatever)...anyhow,s...a really nice piece of jewelry. He then placed it nto the glove box of a new Caddy! He gave that to his brother...after having the Caddy run through a car crusher! He then handed his brother a crow-bar, said "Merry Christmas!", and watched his brothwer prying away at the metal block! What an odd way to wrap something! (This was on the news, so....) | |

Last Christmas the guy I was dating loaded up all the gifts he had purchased and had me wrap them all - the trade off - dinner! He made me a great meal.
My gift - however... another story - but the thought was there.
Just find a great gal pal to help you out!

Find some old newspaper and wrap it up in that! You don't need to spend $5 or $10 on some measly colored wrapping paper when it's just gonna get torn up anyway! Plus, the newspaper wrapping is free, but it costs 50 cents for a whole edition! 
Any other way would be like ripping up a 5 or 10 dollar bill into pieces, and who wants that to happen? | |
