how 2 post a new thread?
Posted: 9/28/2009 10:03:56 AM
Hello. When I was new to this forum talk, I made two new threads before. Why can't I post new threads now? Did you or someone do something? I got one reply to one, that it was deleted, and to read the rules. I did read the rules prior. However, theres lots too read and make sense of. I reposted a similar thread, and don't know what happened too it.

I seem to have an issue with posting reply's. I've written long diatribes in response to a few posts but when I click post I get just a plain text message saying "Post is too short" not even with the normal blue background.

You earned a minimum posting length due to your posting history. I just checked what it was to verify. It is NOT that long. A few sentences would surpass it. You certainly didn't receive it after a long diatribe .

I can't see the deleted threads you posted. As a newbie here I would wager it was redundant. Meaning you didnt search before posting. We delete redundant threads here. We expect you to search and add onto existing discussions. So the first thread was deleted. You reposted the deleted thread and I bet thats when your ability to create new threads was removed. When you demonstrate that you don't understand the forum rules regarding creating new threads then that ability is removed.

Well, I had done some searching. I did not find one that seemed similar at the time. So, when they remove the ability, is it indefinate?

Wrong place, I know... but how come I get a message saying I have exceeded posts in a thread... I have only posted 5 times and there is 16 pages. I noticed that some people post a lot more than 5 times...

a simply explanation would be welcome...

Thanks.

Certain topics start to spiral into a festival of nonsense, bashing, chat and serve no further purpose. At some point a limiter will be set on the thread to a maximum of 5 posts to keep it in balance by preventing the habitual thread squatters from monopolizing it. One should be able to contribute quite nicely with 5 posts. This measure is not an indication that everyone is to blame.
