| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/16/2007 4:37:50 PM | | Well... I do enjoy a flirting with cashiers, but I try to keep it subtle because I'm sure 'they' get it all day long. | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/17/2007 7:53:58 PM | | .. and if we did not try, you ladies would be dry most of the times. | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/18/2007 7:04:59 AM | tango shoes and becky, yeah it's really tough being beautiful isn't it? you should be grateful that you have been so blessed that old men would consider making a fool of themselves on the off chance that you would date them.
get real. when you're pretty you get hit on!!. imagine if you were the opposite. you'd be lonely and bitter. i get emails from older women in their 70's. and i reply with respect. it's happened all my life. some people want to have a partner nice looking and younger at some point in their lives. accept it and appreciate it .... please!
oh yeah, give one of those "father's" a chance. it might surprise you how much fun you can have. tom

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/18/2007 10:40:14 AM | | Interesting thread - I often do groceries with my sixteen year old daughter accompanying, and sometimes stop for a few items on my own, and am simply pleasant and helpful (I like to grab the bags as they are packed and place them in the cart myself). Its abundantly clear that the cashiers are bored, tired from being on their feet all day. However, the over fifty ladies clearly enjoy that I am spending time with my daughter. But flirting, never!!! | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/18/2007 1:39:25 PM | | I've made a habbit of hitting on cashiers that work at any food store open late hours after an unsuccessful night at the bar hahaha. I'm kind of joking but at the same time part of it is true. | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/18/2007 7:27:04 PM | | I used to work as a cashier as well. It was kind of annoying that guys would hit on me at work. I had some over the age of 60. I mean, that's not what kind of stuff I am into. Like everyone else, as much as I wanted to say get lost; I still had to be nice regardless of whether or not they were ***holes. | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/18/2007 10:09:49 PM | Oh I love the stupid pickup lines cashiers tell!
My friend was one and she would tell me all of them.
"Did you find everything okay"?
"Well I found you didn't I"
I love it | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/18/2007 11:05:22 PM | | It depends on my mood that day. More than most times, its just being friendly, a few seconds of small talk. Some times, its just get what I need at the store and get out. But if the cashier is perky, cute and smiling, more than most I will smile and make small talk. Just like everywhere else is about eye contact. | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/19/2007 12:16:24 AM | | A guy is going to try to hit on any woman he finds attractive... its a given... and if theyre cashiers even better because they cant get up and leave. | |

Good thing grandma was there to help the little one shop...lol

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/20/2007 6:48:09 AM | | It's probably because cashiers hit on guys! I was out with a male friend of mine who's not so bad looking and the cashier was practically drooling all over him...so it goes both way! | |

| Cashiers being hit on Posted: 3/25/2007 12:06:39 AM | | Being a former cashier, I can say I've witnessed this A LOT and experienced it a few times myself. It puts a cashier on the spot and it's awkward because they're kind of trapped there and forced to serve someone that does that. I think if there's an interest and conversations with people that are mutually indicative of an attraction, then maybe mentioning getting together for coffee one day isn't out of line. Unfortunately 9 times out of 10 it's not the case. Usually the customer is too agressive and often out of line with the way they approach things and cross the line. To me it's tacky and creepy when that happens. I've seen a lot of girls not want to serve particular people and when I was a manager of the front end, I would often watch out for these girls and do a till switch when the offender was the next in line so they wouldn't have to deal with it. If it got too out of control, management would talk with them and let them know that their behaviour if it continued would have them unwelcome in our store. | |
