Posted: 12/27/2006 7:21:12 PM | | Hi! whispertome Sadly I have to say that the great Otis Redding didn't get a chance to sing "Ain't no Sunshine when she's gone" Bill withers wrote that in 1971 and Otis passed away in 1967. Although he would have done a great job on it. Bill did a great job but Al green also did a nice job on that song too! Nice song pick though! | |

Perhaps I am wrong...but when I googled it I found an otis redding that did an awesome #1 job on that song...
I did hear Al Green sing it and he did an awesome job!
Nice to see someone else really enjoys that song as much as myself.

Posted: 1/6/2007 8:41:45 AM | I was in a band (broke up) and one of my gripes, same gripe that every member of every band has, is that our playlist sucks. Some good songs yes, and some songs that need to go, on which we disagree.
The whole purpose for a bar band is to play songs that get GIRLS DANCING ...the dreaded "chick music" that gives you a choice = play chick music or don't work. Much as I enjoy playing Traffic, for example, NO ONE is likely to dance to Low Spark.
So...I have a question for women only who go to bars: What song gets you up dancing almost every time?
My purpose is to compile a playlist for the next band.

One thing is for sure, and the same time I will use this opportunity to pay my respects to, Gerald Levert may he rest in peace (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Levert) would have a strong presence on that list with his song "Can't Help Myself" in the top 3. | |
