Posted: 10/7/2007 6:05:49 PM | | I'd honestly go to St. Louis, Missouri (i know, i know, doesn't sound too much like paradise) My fave hockey team is the St. Louis Blues and for 10+ years i've had dreams of seeing the city. When it comes to actual tourist type destinations, then i guess Venice, Italy (i believe that is where the streets are rivers)....most beautiful place i've ever actually been to was Saint Simons Island, Georgia tho...

Tops on my list would be northern Italy, Florence and Venice, I am seriously thinking of trying to get to Monaco in time for the Gran Prix next spring, and then take a train to Florence, not sure if I can squeeze in Venice into the trip as I'll only be taking a week or at most 2
Other places on my to-do list; Egypt - like The Bangles I want to walk like an Egyptian Rome & Naples Ankor Wat Athens and Greek islands Macchu Piccho and Cuzco Rio

When my organs shut down and kill me, I'll somehow ressurect myself, hop a plane to Tokyo and just wander around and get lost in all the bright lights and craziness for a few days.

When you go, on the must see is a drive on the Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff, this will normally take a full day (can take more depending on what you do) so you'd need to make accomodation arrangements beforehand as hotels can book up early in Jasper or Banff.
Things to see and do there; Sulphur Mountain Gondala, have high tea at the Banff Springs Motel (or Chateau Lake Louise). Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Hike in Johnston Canyon 1st, bit is an easy hike and the trail is built overhanging in the canyon, side trip into BC to see Marble Canyon and Paint Pots, another side trip into BC on the Trans-Canada to see the spiral tunnels and Takakkaw Falls (1260'). Peyto Lake in my view the most beautiful lake in the world. Walk on the icefields or go on the icefield busses. Whistler Mountain Gondola near Jasper, Maligne Canyon. and take yet another side trip to see Mount Robson.

I'm going to Japan, baby.... 5 nights in a Tokyo penthouse suite, then taking the shinkansen to Kyoto to stay in a cozy Japanese Inn. I'll hit Fukuoka next and check out the music scene for a few days, then from there, it's off to Okinawa to relax on the beach.
::wakes up from the dream::... it's frickin' 34F degrees outside... me hates it!

For an extreme traveler the South Pole is the same as the summit of Mount Everest is for a mountain climber. It is also the most expensive place to visit on Earth, so it is an obvious first choice.
2. British Indian Ocean Territory, Indian Ocean The British Indian Ocean Territory is one of the most difficult places on Earth to visit. They usually do not let in any visitors, because it is a restricted military area. There are no flights and no ship connections, so there are only two alternatives to get there. You would have to rent a boat from a nearby island like the Seychelles or the Maldives or you would have to use your own yacht. Even then there is a risk that the coast guard is not going to allow you to step on land. If you are crossing the Indian Ocean on a yacht, you should have a good chance to get in as the coast guard reportedly allows yacht crews to stop for a rest.
3. Pyongyang, North Korea Maybe with the exception of the South Pole there is no other place on Earth that fascinates serious travelers as much as North Korea. It is such an unreal place. There is nothing like it anywhere else.
4. Tristan da Cunha, South Atlantic Ocean Tristan da Cunha is the most remote inhabited place on Earth.
5. Bouvet Island, South Atlantic Ocean Bouvet Island is the most remote uninhabited place on Earth. The nearest land is Queen Maud Land on Antarctica and it is uninhabited as well. Tristan da Cunha is the nearest inhabited place. Bouvet Island belongs to Norway and to visit the island you officially need a permit from Norway, but if you come without the permit you are not going to face any immigration anyway. Bouvet Island has no harbor and the island is surrounded by cliffs, so an attempt to land there with a boat is considered very risky. Some travelers have been able to land on Bouvet with a helicopter.
