ahh, thorn, that was well done, indeed!

welcome, here, lunarlunacy.

dear celestial implies she's looking for a rant. not sure this meets expectations, but perhaps we can call it a diatribe...in memory of george, for sure...

camouflage

i recall when it all began
you said you were
a kind, thoughtful man

at first, i thought it true
demonstrated by concern
but, then, i got to know you

and what i saw, told a different tale
you were withholding and reticent
and seemed emotionally frail

you said you were in dating mode
afraid to be hurt again, i sympathized
but, it seemed awry, and was a load

just words, used to mask the truth
you cared only for yourself
a narcissist, since your youth

something that affected only me
proved too scary for you
and, then i did see

how you obsessed in fear
thinking only of yourself
and a result that wouldn’t appear

that’s when i knew
it was camouflage, through and through
but, i had a glimpse of the real you

and what i saw
well, it wasn’t pretty
it was your ultimate flaw

lord a mighty, where ya been girl?????? nice to see you back, been missing ya.

some people ya just enjoy
there are no issues
there are no dramas
there are no hidden agendas
no need to stir up gossip
never wearing camoflauge
expounding one thing and
meaning quite another
just a nice person
with an equally nice heart
that guides her over the seasons
a flowing stream of brightness
that waterfalls happiness
and lights the fuse of joy.

peep show

I've got my camouflage
bits and pieces
feast and feces
pasted in a decoupage
a layer of glue
glazed and brittle
between me and you
while I dodge
and skittle
with a mirage
you're thirsty in the desert
and you want an oasis
and I can provide it
in one of my faces
and any emotion
is genuine
but the coin has two faces
and turns on a dime

;( what happened to your marriage proposal? I'm bummed.....here I was hoping you were just too busy with romance, my friend...and, I wanted to clog at your wedding....

I was thinking of you the other night when I was driving home and this song came on....I knew I had to post it.......
*************************************

ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK
lyrics by Murray Head

THE AMERICAN:
Bangkok, Oriental setting
And the city don't know that the city is getting
The creme de la creme of the chess world in a
Show with everything but Yul Brynner

Time flies - doesn't seem a minute
Since the Tirolean spa had the chess boys in it
All change - don't you know that when you
Play at this level there's no ordinary venue

It's Iceland... or the Philippines... or Hastings... or... or this place!

COMPANY:
One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
And if you're lucky then the god's a she
I can feel an angel sliding up to me

THE AMERICAN:
One town's very like another
When your head's down over your pieces, brother

COMPANY:
It's a drag, it's a bore, it's really such a pity
To be looking at the board, not looking at the city

THE AMERICAN:
Whaddya mean? Ya seen one crowded, polluted, stinking town...

COMPANY:
Tea, girls, warm, sweet, sweet
Some are set up in the Somerset Maugham suite

THE AMERICAN:
Get Thai'd! You're talking to a tourist
Whose every move's among the purest
I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine

COMPANY:
One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me

THE AMERICAN:
Siam's gonna be the witness
To the ultimate test of cerebral fitness
This grips me more than would a
Muddy old river or reclining Buddha

And thank God I'm only watching the game, controlling it

I don't see you guys rating
The kind of mate I'm contemplating
I'd let you watch, I would invite you
But the queens we use would not excite you

So you better go back to your bars, your temples, your massage parlours

COMPANY:
One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
A little flesh, a little history
I can feel an angel sliding up to me

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me

conjure man

conjure man
touch the core in me
the feather boa
mule and peignoir
whore in me
whisper a spell
to swell in my mind
bind my thoughts
in a swoon of carnality
let your hands
spark tinder to fire
conjure up my desire
blazing with greed
waken my need

Okay, Make up this querry as I go:

I'll type this
Stream of consciousness
As I wonder, wonder,
Ruminate on this:
How doe one a new thread make
That sticks around,
Will hold
And take?
Vs what I seem to do:
To Post and watch it
Swiftly
Fade from view.
Whatever is,
The Popular Posting
Alchemy,
That does it's best and avoids me?

Piccadilly Morning
Posted: 8/7/2008 10:14:56 AM
The morning fog shrouds both my movement and motivation
As I walk the streets of Piccadilly Square once more
In search of caffeinated ambrosia and salvation
To clear my head, my heart, my mind, my soul
To clear away the cobwebs of the evening's undoing
I pause briefly in reticent revelry recalling the rave
A smile breaking the frowning facade of facetious consternation
I see Japanese girls in geta scramble down the cobblestone
Fleeing the masquerade as the dawn casts light
On things best unseen and unspoken of now in polite company
Hair cast askew as their hair gel fails belying their bad behavior
Velvet sensations exchanged for hard feelings and emptiness
The flames of the neon soaked gas lamps dim
As the sun in all it's brilliance shines it's truth
For all to see but yet none seem to care in these early morning hours
Each and every one on these near empty streets
Pursue their own agenda, their own schedule
With little or no concern for those around them
The morning fog shrouds their movement and motivation
The life flow of London awakens as creatures of the night
Become creatures of the day in wolf's clothing
Two sides of the same coin yet each different and exciting
My caffeinated ambrosia finally arrives and with it my salvation
Hot steam curling playfully caresses my lips like a lovers kiss
In a instant the evening's undoing dissipate with it's cobwebs
I can once more breathe in the temptation of another day
Clear headed, clear hearted, clear minded and remorseless
I can day dream about the possibilities the evening to come
As I walk the cobbled streets of Piccadilly Square once more

The lights are low as the sun sets
Evening descends enshrouding all
In cool darkness and hidden promise
Children scurry about underfoot
As a Mother beckons them to bed
The monotonous clickety clack of the rails
Provides a lullaby for sleepier heads
On this runaway train from London to Paris
By the way you look at me now
Your eyes both playful and tempting
I know it is time for us too to depart
To the privacy of our own Q-car
As the lights are low and the sun has set
And evening holds it's own hidden promises
Of delightful compromise
And passionate give and take
To the rhythm of a rail car's lullaby

the lights are low
night has laid its blanket
on the day
I am reading in my chair
Between the times
I come compose and play
Turning over in my mind
The words I want to say
My cat is lying by my feet
Trying to be fetching
And borrowing my heat
My favorite cup
Waits in the kitchen
While on the stove
The screeching of the kettle
Punctuates my pensive reverie
I travel to my keyboard
To render verbal sketching

humor, I think that was eighties night party. We went to a play set in the eighties and a party at the bar later....I ended up staying up pretty late....check out my new 80's pic, I even have slouch socks and high tops and very big hair...

my sis said what if they think you really dress like that? (Well, twenty years ago I did...) anyhoo, I told her if they can't read the caption they're too stupid to date.....
*******************************
by the way

by the way
what will I have to compromise?
when we are under foot,
and our runaway train
has slowed...
will you have me toss
the things I love
to lighten up the load?

ONCE UPON

ONCE UPON A TIME
I SUCKED ON A LIME
ONCE UPON A DAY
I WAS A GOOD LAY
ONCE UPON A NIGHT
I WA A DELIGHT
ONCE UPON A DINNER
I WAS A WINNER
ONCE UPOON A NOONER
I WAS A CROONER
ONCE UPON A SUPPER
I TOOK AN UPPER
ONCE UPON A SINNER
I WASN'T A WINNER
ONE UPON A SCHOONER
I WAS A SWOONER
ONCE UPON A BOAT
I DID GLOAT
ONCE UPON A COW
I SAID WOW
ONCE UPON A FULL MOON
WITH A KISS I CAME TO SOON
ONCE UPON A BLOKE
I TOOK A STROKE
ONCE IN A CAR
THE DOOR CAME AJAR
ONCE UPON A SUNNY
I WENT OUT TO PLAY

CHICKEN SHIT

AS PEACE TURNS TO TURBULANCE
WILL PEACE EVER HAVE A CHANCE
LIKE MY EX A WIFE ABUSER
NEEDING TO CALL A POLICE CRUISER
WHAT MAKES SOME SO EVIL
THEY GROW TO EQUAL THE DEVIL
MANY DIFFERENT NAMES
THE SAME GAMES
GACY-HITLER-BUNDY A FEW
WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT WHAT'S THE CLUE
TORTURE HURT AND PAIN
WHAT DID THEY GAIN
BLAMING OTHERS IS TO EASY
WHAT THEY DID MAKES YOU QUEASY
IN THE END THEY DIDN'T QUIT
THEY ARE REALLY CHICKEN SHIT
I WONDER WHY GOD LET'S IT CONTINUE
IT'S CALLD FREE WILL FOR ALL OF YOU

DREAMING OF ME

GROWING FROM A BABY TO A LASS
MET SOME GENTS AND AN ASS
I DREAMT OF A FEW
SOME DREAMING OF ME TOO
WHEN I WAS A LASS
GOING UP A MOUNTAIN PASS
LAYING BY A BABBLING STREAM
ALL I COULD DO WAS DREAM
WHEN IS MY TRUE LOVE COMING TO ME
TO LET MY DREAMS AND HEART BE FREE
TO FLY AND SOAR ABOVE
AS IF ON THE WINGS OF A DOVE
GOING HIGHER YET
JOINING THE MILE HIGH CLUB ON A JET
WITH ALL THE FUN I HAD
DREMING OF ME WAS A LAD
HAVING FUN BEING A BIT SHADY
GROWING INTO FINE LADY
DREAMING OF A FEW I HAD IN THE PAST
LEAVING SOME DREAMING OF ME MY SHADOW CAST

AMMUNITION

TRYING TO SLEEP IT WOULD NOT COME
BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WAS A THREATENING BUMB
TURNING AND TOSSING WITH PREMONITION
TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT, UNLOAD THE AMMUNITION
WAKE UP YOU **** IT WAS SEVEN IN THE MORNING
THE 30.06 POINTED AT MY HEAD WOULD CAUSE MOURNING
DID HE ASSUME THE WEAPON LOADED
OR WOULD MY HEAD BE EXPLODED
YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES TO CALL AND SAY GOOD-BY
THEN YOU WILL DIE
SCRAMBLING TO THE PHONE
WOULD MY BODY BE LAYING PRONE
THE OPERATOR WAS CALLED INSTEAD
SEND THE POLICE MY HUSBAND WANTS ME DEAD
SHE HUNG UP THINKING IT A JOKE
HE PULLED THE TRIGGER WITH ONE SMALL STROKE
AS I RAN FROM THE HOUSE
HUSBAND CURSING THE EMPTY CHAMBER THE LOUSE
I THANK GOD FOR THE PREMONITION
TO UNLOAD THE AMMUNITION

IN THE RAIN

NO MATTER WHERE U.S. INDIA OR SPAIN
I LOVE TO DO IT IIN THE RAIN
WALKING WITH RAIN DANCING TO THE GROUND
OR FROZEN RAIN FALLING ALL AROUND
TONGUE HANGING OUT TO CATCH THE DROPS
MUCH BETTER THAN TEAR DROPS
MAKING LOVE DAY OR NIGHT
IS ALWAYS A DELIGHT
ROLLING OVER SPRINKLES FALLING ON MY BOD
IS LIKE TAKIING A SHOWER WITH GOD
WASHING MY HAIR IN THE RAIN
PREVENTS CLOGS IN THE DRAIN
MAKING DEW DROP SOFT HAIR
NO NEEDEDCONDITIONER YOU CAN SPARE
WHEN THE DAY IS AWFUKLKLY HOT
SHOWERING IN THE RAIN IT'S NOT
WHEN THE NIGHT IS COLD
SHOWERING IN THE RAIN IS BOLD
IF WALKING NUDE IN THE RAIN WAS N'T AGAINST THE LAW
MANY MEN WOULD DROP THEIR JAW

WAIL

THE SIREN'S WAIL
SOMEONE'S GOING TO JAIL
OR A RIDE IN AN AMBULANCE
WHAT IS THE CHANCE
THE WAIL OF A FIRE TRUCK
SOMEBODY HADS RUN OUT OF LUCK
OR IS THE WAIL OF A BABY CRYING
UNABLE TO SPEAK BUT TRYING
THE WAIL OF A WHALE
TELLING HIS TALE
THE WAIL OF A BROKEN HEART
UNABLE TO ENVISION A NEW START
THE WAIL OF SOMEONE IN MOURNING
UNABLE TO FATHOM ANOTHER LONELY MORNING
THE WAIL OF SOMEONE'S DESIRES
A DELICATE TOUNCH INSPIRES

ON THAT DAY

YOU WERE MY CHILDHOOD SWEETHEART
TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS NEVER APART
YOU TOOK ME TO MY FIRST DANCE
GIVING NOT OTHER GUY A CHANCE
YOU GAVE ME MY FIRST KISS
PROMISING WEDDED BLISS
YOU TOOK ME TO THE PROM FORMAL
EVERYTHING PROCEDED AS NORMAL
OFF TO COLLEGE WE DID GO
PLAYING TOGETHER IN THE SNOW
ON THAT DAY
I DID PRAY
WHAT WE DID START
NO OTHER WOULD EVER PART
WE VOWED TO LOVE FOREVER
TO BREAK APART NEVER
OUR MARRIAGE VOWS
RAISED SOME EYEBROWS
ALONG CAME OUR FIRST SON
A BUNDLE OF FUN
OUR CHILDREN DID BIND
THE LOVE WE DID FIND
ON THAT DAY LONG AGO

EYES SO BLUE

FROM LONG AGO AT THE DAWN OF TIME
TO WHEN THE PHONE COST A DIME
A BOY WITH EYES SO BLUE ASKED FOR A KISS
SAYING NO BUT IGNORED HE WAS MET WITH A FIST
KNOCKING HIM OUT COLD
WHEN HE WAS SO BOLD
SCARED RUNNING INTO THE HOUSE THINKING HE'D BE MAD
HE CAME EYES TWINKLING A SMILE GLAD
THINKING I WAS 21 NOT ELEVEN
HE THOUGHT A KISS WOULD BE HEAVEN
WRITING A LETTER OF APOLOGY
MY MOTHER BEAT ME
ACCUSING OF A SORDID TRYST
NOT SOMETHING SO INNOCENT AS MY FIRST KISS
IT LEFT ME DESIRES FOR A MAN WITH EYES SO BLUE
BLACK CURLY HAIR AND TWINKLING EYES TOO
THE COMBINATION IS SO RARE
FINDING IT I CAN'T HELP BUT STARE
IF OUR EYES HAPPEN TO MEET
A SMILE ON MY LIPS WILL GREET

MOVE OUT

I WA SO HAPPY ABLE TO SPOUT
I'M GOIONG TO MOVE OUT
INSTEAD OF YOU TO RUIN MY DAY
I'LL HAVE AHUSBAND WHICH WILL PLAY
FUN GAMES WITH ME
AND I'LL BE FREE
TO LAUGH AND LOVE
THANKING GOD ABOVE
A MAN TO FILL ME
A GUY TO FILL ME WITH GLEE
A SMILE ON MY FACE
A FROWN TO REPLACE
KISSES AND HUGS
ON A BEAR RUG
IN FRONT OF A FIREPLACE
FILLED WITH GRACE
LOVING FLAMES DANCING
FULL OF ROMANCING

I HAVE A FEW MORE BUT WILL WAIT TIL NEXT TIME I'M ON LINE

So is it just me or does anyone else suspect that Humor finally met her guy, and he swept her off her feet and carried her off into the sunset (or at least what passes for a sunset in NYC). Nearly a month now and no new topics. Mores the pity.

candy - welcome back. the only critique i will offer is that all caps is very hard to read. studies show it takes 12-13% more work to read a block of all caps text.

thorn - no such luck. still available...too bad you moved!! btw - the post about the date and the boxers...priceless!

i will post new topics. i will try not to let you down.

and, i have it on good authority that there may soon be another thread similar to my own.

brizo, i had to sign in to my profile to check your pics (do not get this site's increasing number of bugs ) - love your costume. actually, i have items of apparel from the eighties still in my [upstairs] closet. keith haring sweatchirt, for example. hmm...maybe i shall wear it for old times' sake.

and now a little bit of doggerel (gotta get those juices flowing again).

testing, testing
one, two, three
anybody out there
hearing me?

i lost my muse
yes, it's true
i had nothing
i was through

why?, you ask
i was sad
couldn't muster
feeling glad

didn't want to
rhyme and play
it's over now
just went away

now, i'm back
and feel renewed
still i seek
one special dude

someone ... i done lost my mind.

welcome back
from feeling bad
without your topics
we were sad
we couldn't play
with thing one and thing two
we were bored
we had nothing to do
and all we could do was to sit, sit, sit, sit
and we did not like it
not one little bit

oh, I love Dr. Seuss...I impressed my drunken friends by reciting the cat in the hat on the way home from the street fair one year....

as for dr. suess, here's a bit i wrote in response to some guy who posted his gf was flashing her boobies...but, she was a classy chick.

they do not flash ‘em in a bar
they do not flash ‘em from a car
they do not flash ‘em on bourbon street
they do not flash ‘em where folk meet
they do not flash ‘em when roomies beg
they do not flash ‘em for another keg
they do not flash ‘em here nor there
they do not flash ‘em ANYWHERE

INTERESTING

Interesting how the effervescent
Dial up their psychosis to circumvent
The spinning legions of doom. Repent,
Shadow-sanction, viral punks of Kent!
The rainfed caterwauling stars of Lent
Are out of focus, season. World's bent.
