Did the Colts win those games? Yes. and he's thrown for about 120 TD's total in the last three years....if the Colts do lose, it won't be because of Manning.
"if the bears play their kind of defense they will shut down the colts run and give your payton alot of bear hugs!"
1)not "my" peyton...told you i was fan of neither team 2)Big "if" about Bears D.....If Miami and Arizona and Seattle can run on Chicago, so can Indy.
Manning's play isn't the question here...he may or may not throw for 300yds and 4 TD's but he won't lose the game for them. Grossman will quite possibly be the worst QB to ever play in a SB. The least bit of pressure(bet he can feel Freeny's breath already)and he callapses like a house of cards. you Bears fans ought to be more worried about what that loser will do, don't waste time dreaming about sacking Manning a bunch b/c it's not going to happen.
Look at all the Bear fans crawling out of the woodwork. Weren't many around a couple months ago now they're everywhere. To all bear fans who posted all season...Congrats! To all Bear fans who never posted until this past couple weeks.....zip it! You are not true fans.

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 9:20:49 AM | cav, i was point out that manning is not the second coning to the nfl as many think, he is ONE of the best ob's today, the colts won their games as a team that i respect them for! but the bears defense shuts down the colts run guess who's going to win? | |

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 10:15:35 AM | "but the bears defense shuts down the colts run guess who's going to win"
when Grossman throws three picks and fumbles twice, who's going to win?
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 10:55:10 AM | not the colts! payton has thrown six picks in the last 10 qauthers although the rest of the colts won those games so cam be said about grossman | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 11:02:12 AM | | Everyone just keeps on bad mouthng Rex Grossman....is he a Joe Montana or a Brett Favre...no; however, he does find a way to win when he has too...dont take him too lightly | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 11:21:52 AM | And the fact that for all intents and purposes this is Rex's rookie year. I mean Vick has been in the league forever...people call him a star and he still hasn't figured out how to win.
Whoever wins the turnover battle will win the game...Go Bears!!
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 11:33:17 AM | He(Grossman) will be exposed.....mark my words. If Bears fans are hanging their hat on the dream that Grossman is even in the same universe as Manning as a QB, then you're all in for a rude awakening.
It's OK to root for your team. Bears have a good running game and a good D. That's why they're going to Miami......but don't emabrrass yourselves by trying to comparte Grossman and Manning. Look at it this way. If Grossman was a Colt...what would their record have been? If Manning was a Bear, think Chicago would have lost ANY games this year?
Colts are early 7 pt favorites...Vegas agrees with me.
The bears don't win because of Grossman...they win in spite of him.
irishpoet...
You keep harping on Mannings INT's the last few weeks....look at these season numbers:
Season #'s Manning QB rating-101.0 Grossman-73.9
Manning int's-9 Grossman-20
Manning TD passes-31 Grossman-23
Completion % Manning-65%(on 100 more attempts) Grossman-55%
Manning sacked only 14 times all regular season...less than 1 a game.
I'll make an even more specific prediction. If neither the Bear's D or Devin Hester score any points for Chicago...they lose. No way in a straight-up turnover free game could they beat the Colts(or the Pats, the Chargers, the Ravens, the Dolphins, the Broncos or just about any team in the AFC...except the Raiders maybe)
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 11:50:22 AM | grossman, like brady and mcnair is a team QB , THEY WORK WITHIN THE TEAM, THEY WAY YOU GLORIFE MANNING HE PLAYS ALONE IN HIS OWN UNIVERSE! football is a team sport! and all we are saying is do not say anything you may regret remember in the ravens game even tough the ravens lost, they held your god of a QB to 0 tuchdowns and mcnair threw for more yards then manning, he completed more passes then manning. remember your god is facing the best "d" in the nfc! | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 11:52:05 AM | | a Manwich....on the menu in miami...meet you at the quarterback! LOL | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 2:41:50 PM | | I will give Peyton his due, he was the better QB when it counted and I didn't think that the Colts had a prayer. The Colts may just win the big one and the Bears offense just as easily could give this game away. | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 5:06:06 PM | OK Bears supporters... The ravens had a better defense and a better qb and were at home.... and still lost! You can't even compare the Chicago secondary to the Ravens.... Manning will shred them!
Once Grossman has to start forcing plays because he is behind... here come the turnovers.
Manning is god! My colts will win.. said it at the start, will say it again!

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 5:46:43 PM | Hey Jo~
What say we ignore all the peac0cking going on here and just quietly celebrate our Bear's victory.
WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................YEEHAW!!!!! BEARS TRAMPLE THE PONIES.....
WHY? Because our D CAN AND WILL run them down. I can't believe anyone is resonding to Cavalier... saying our D is over-rated. What statistics do you have to back that statement?
The statistics don't lie and the fact that we're GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL says it all!
See you in MIAMI JO~ Hey! "Moon over Miami".... love your new pic!!

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 8:26:14 PM | "Manning is god!"
Hahaha... did you REALLY think this during the first half of the game????
I mean... really????
The defense brokedown.
Not really the cb's... but the linebackers.
The tight end had a field day with them.
This I will admit.
Manning isn't the only one who pulled it out.
If you think so, then you're not really watching the game.
That being said, the colts did pull it off...
But, Marino also went to a superbowl as well... and you know what happened.
Oh yeah, here is a stat that is 100% true.
Look up how many players that the Pats have on the IR.
Now, this isn't any excuse, but just do the due dillegence and search it.
Now, look at EVERY other team in the NFL.
How many IR players are there????
Again, it's not an excuse... but, it's pretty interesting.

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 9:32:35 PM | to" big manning is god? when did you unseat the old one? hmmmmm heading for a nervous break down are we? | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/22/2007 9:47:36 PM | past stats mean nothing come superbowl time!........most of us know that superbowl games are often decided by stumble-bum plays and quirky happenstances....few pple would have thought that the Colts could make it to the SB!.......but it wasn't all due to Manning's prowess (or lack of it).....i don't think that the QB's (or offensive styles) will determine the outcome......but, rather more by the team that has the fewest turnovers!
.......and who will that be?
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/23/2007 12:45:06 AM | Manning and the ponies are way overdue for the "choke". Almost happened, they were spared. Bring it on BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where's Ditka when ya need him? | |
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/23/2007 8:03:18 AM | The Bears have a better defense than the Colts.
The Colts have a better offense than the Bears.
If Manning has an alright day and and Grossman has an alright day.
The Colts should win. Sorry Ms. Kaos if they were gonna choke the would have sunday.

|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/23/2007 8:41:21 AM | "Cavalier... saying our D is over-rated. What statistics do you have to back that statement?"
-the 6-10 Dolphins ran up 160 yds rushing in a 31-13 win
-Rams rolled up 430yds on Chicago's D and only lost because of Hester's two KO returns
-Lowly Tampa Bay scored 31 pts on your D
-The Bears played the WEAKEST schedule in the League....look it up...NFL.com
"Should we hand out the crying towels now or later to the pony lovers???????"
Better wait.....Cowboy fans, Pats fans, Eagles fans, Ravens fans all at one time or another in these football threads called their team SB champs too soon.....just promise me you'll all be around when they lose. I can't wait to hear all the excuses.

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/23/2007 10:31:33 AM | This is gonna be one of the most exciting superbowls ever. Even if it's a blowout one way or the other it's gonna be full of big plays on both sides.
Now... that being said. this sucks! lol
Chicago's been my team since I started watching football, but I am a huge fan of Peyton Manning.
As far as Rex Grossman,, he'll be one of the best of all time if Lovie and the staff can wheen him along for the next two seasons. He has the physical tools to do the job, but has trouble with his decision making. Keep the recievers out of the same patterns or zones for the kid so he can make easy decisions and he'll be able to build confidence early in this game.
The bears have the offense, defense and special teams to be the champs. God help any team they face if they have all three pieces working at their best at the same time.
But look how many games they did it just on one side of the ball.
Bears win over Indy 33-24. With two interceptions thrown by manning in the fourth quarter. Rex will hit with two touchdown passes and throw for 180 yards. Call your bookie and place the bet. lol

| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/23/2007 10:33:51 AM | Indy gave up 5.2 yards per rush, Chicago only 4.
Hard stat to overlook. Wonder if it's a garbage stat because of being ahead so often and playing pass defense? or a critical weakness.
Sometimes stats don't mean much because teams are ahead so often that game situation dictates strategy that allows clock moving yards but denies moving the ball out of bounds or long passes.
|
| Super Bowl Predictions Posted: 1/23/2007 11:02:59 AM | "Indy gave up 5.2 yards per rush, Chicago only 4."
you're right, uncle....that's an important stat...but i would add that in the three playoff games(v. KC, Balt., NE..all good running teams)the Colts are giving up 70yds/gm rushing and a 3.4 per carry average.....the difference....Bob Sanders the Colt's strong safety is fully healthy and one of the best run support safeties in the league.
If this game were a texas hold'em hand....the Colts just have a lot more outs than the Bears. Only way I see the Bears winning is if Indy turns it over 4-5 times or if Hester breaks a couple returns.
