Posted: 5/29/2006 1:40:39 AM | Ok... here goes... I have the entertainment (DJ) already set up... I am checking with the place on hold (Dance/nightclub) .... I am looking at Saturday July 15th for the party and I would also like to have a bon fire of some sort on friday night at the park where there is camping available for out of towner's
there are many hotels close by. The party and camping will all be within 10 minutes off of interstate 95 and i am in the walterboro area of South Carolina. Walterboro area is exit 68 off of interstate 95. It is about 1.5 hours south of columbia, 1 hour south of Charleston, 45 minutes from Summerville, 1 hour North of savanah, GA. so all the plenty of fish residents in that area are welcome to attend as well. I will be providing finger foods and soft drinks. (until the bartender gets there at 7pm) then the bar will be a cash bar, with some specials on drinks, from 7pm until usually about 3am but it can go as long as you like.
There will be dancing, games, fun and excitement. Don't miss this opportunity to meet all of your favorites on plenty of fish.
Now that you have all the info you need... give me some feedback to let me know how many people will be attending so i can get the supplies i need...

directions to the nightclub called SPIRITS.... Shooting for July 15th saturday night for party, and Friday night for bonfire or something at park. email any questions to myself or my sister Synnseer.. we will be glad to answer everything we can.
take Interstate 95 to Walterboro exit. State Route 64.... follow 64 approxiamtely 2 miles... stoplight take a left... follow road for about 1 mile to stoplight... that will be Jefferies hwy state route 15. Make a left at the light on 15 north. Go approxiamtely 2-3 miles and Spirits will be on your right.
Parking is available in front, side and rear of building.
Thank you to all who can attend... I am sure we will all have a great time... Any suggestions for party favors are welcome and any help with anything (food, softdrinks before bar is open, munchies) is gratly appreciated...
Lets all have a great time.. it will be only open to the plenty of fish members and their friends. I may even have tickets to email you so you can show at the door that you have a ticket... not sure yet, but will keep you posted on that.

I haven't been on Walterboro in years, but I know that the best way from here is down 17 to Jacksonboro and then head over 64 until you hit Asten's old plant at HWY 15 (I used to work for them eons ago when there were actually Astens who owned it, and that's the only landmark I know in Walterboro).

Looks like the easiest and nest way to explain to get here from your area would br to take 17a all the way to walterboro. 17a will stop at a stop light at Jefferis Blvd. Take a right on Jefferies Hwy (route 15) and it will be about 3-4 miles on right hand side.

Posted: 6/22/2006 7:02:28 PM | That's great to hear. Getting to meet people in person is much better than trying to meet online. What can you say after the "Hi, I'm..." e-mail? I work online (have for literally decades), but I still don't believe that you can do much more than introduce yourself. You cannot really get to know someone through e-mail, regular mail or even on the phone.
Of course I'm not putting down sites like POF. I've only been on here a few months, and it appears to me to be one of the better run sites. It isn't full of bots trying to get your e-mail address or send you to some porn website to contact them back. That's the real problem with the pay sites and the reason why the bot runners lurk there.
I haven't met anyone on here yet (other than a few "Hi..." e-mails, half of which were not answered), and I'm not really expecting to "find" someone at a get-together in Wally World, but it still should be fun.
BTW, why the heck did you guys pick Wally World for this anyway? Was it everyone's preference, or was it just because you were the one who volunteered to put it together? | |

Of course, there is always the option of someone else picking up the ball and running with it, holding it somewhere else...and footing the planning and such. Wanna volunteer?

I am trying to figure the distance from my home here in Granite Falls, NC. Can you provide the exact street address for me?
Also, you mentioned there was camping 10 miles away and I want to look further into that, as well. Can you please provide names of any of the near-by camping spots? I plan to do research for that, too, but thought you may know something familiar to help me get started and to narrow the search.

Camping is at Canady's. (Also known as Colleton State Park) They have hookup sites as well as primitive sites available.

This will give you some information on the park and it's fees. Canady's is about 8 miles or so north of Spirits
As far as stuff to bring, all drinks and munchies or simple food items are very welcome.
Expect to dance dance dance!! :) (gotta love being a DJ!)
Let either SoulShaker or myself know what you may be bringing so we can fill in the spots!
This is a one day event Saturday only (sorry I didn't answer that one before) and there are several decent hotels in the area if you plan on staying over night.
I have tried to get some rooms at a discounted rate and will continue to do so, but as of yet, I haven't been able to accomplish it.  (it's vacation time apparently!)
Hope to see a good turn out! If there is any other information you'd like, just ask away and we'll do what we can to get the info!

A wrong count was taken, and so far there are only about 10 people planning on making it.
TRULY TRULY we need at least 20 positive "I'll be there" before we can pull this off. Ya don't just rent a whole club for 10..sorry folks, but we gotta know ASAP via mail who is FOR SURE they are gonna make it.

There are only about 6 people who have said they would be there, and some of those are 'iffy' at this point. It's best at this time we cancell the event.

Which city is the most desirable for all to commute to for a weekend party??
If we can come up with a common vote of 30 or more ppl for a certain city then we can at least have a get together for those 30 ppl in the specified city, right. uh, hopefully!!

Plenty of creeks and camping and gorgeous scenary. A 50 person camping trip sounds like a blast. It is also not far from SC so that the folks coming from there may find it more convenient, then say, Durham NC. Idunno...
