LAST LOOK
The warm summer’s breeze gently playing upon my face slowly awakens me. I delight in the sun’s glow and the soft grass I lie upon. Feeling both the warm golden light and the coolness of the grass on my naked flesh is a strange and yet pleasing combination. Funny, I have never noticed this feeling before.
The clouds above, like cotton-candy, move ever so slowly against a background of blue. Two sparrows break the almost motionless scene with their wings outstretched floating lazily downward and finally alighting on a branch of a nearby tree. The sound of the rustling leaves made by the wind moving among the branches reaches my ears. Funny, I have never noticed that gentle sound before.
In the distance, children frolic as only those without care may do. Their laughter, carried on the wind soon infects me with a sense of well-being. Funny, I have never noticed the joy that watching children at play can bring.
The sounds of a stream as it flows against the rocks in its path can be heard. An unrelenting sound of nature. Another sound from nature’s orchestra. Funny, I have never noticed that song before.
The scent of flowers permeated the air. It may seem silly, but I believe that I can distinguish one flower’s scent from another. The roses, marigolds, daisies, tulips, and the others. Yes, I can smell each fragrance. Funny, I have never noticed the delicate aroma that each flower has.
I am glad I have come to this place. The serenity is overpowering. The pleasures of life have now made themselves known to me. Funny, I have never taken the time to relax before.
The heaviness of sleep is now upon me, but I wish to remain awake and enjoy more of this peace. I know that I will never be able to return to this meadow. A force is pulling me away and I know I cannot refuse to go. I have lived my life. It is time for me to move on to my destiny. I will miss this meadow.
Funny, I have never noticed life before.

There's nothing as nice as someone who shares, your laughter, your secrets, your wishes and cares, someone who's there through your good times and tears, who stays by your side as your friend through the years.

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 2/24/2007 6:47:30 PM | The Layers Stanley Kunitz I have walked through many lives, some of them my own, and I am not who I was, though some principle of being abides, from which I struggle not to stray. When I look behind, as I am compelled to look before I can gather strength to proceed on my journey, I see the milestones dwindling toward the horizon and the slow fires trailing from the abandoned camp-sites, over which scavenger angels wheel on heavy wings. Oh, I have made myself a tribe out of my true affections, and my tribe is scattered! How shall the heart be reconciled to its feast of losses? In a rising wind the manic dust of my friends, those who fell along the way, bitterly stings my face. Yet I turn, I turn, exulting somewhat, with my will intact to go whereever I need to go, and every stone on the road precious to me. In my darkest night, when the moon was covered and I roamed through wreckage, a nimbus-clouded voice directed me: "Live in the layers, not on the litter." Though I lack the art to decipher it, no doubt the next chapter in my book of transformations is already written. I am not done with my changes. | |

The day I stop loving him he will decide it's time to fall in love with me I'm not going to be there
The day I no longer care for him the way I do now he will realize what a mistake passing me by really was The day another man sweeps me of my feet will be the day he will miss me more then ever I'm not going to be there
The day I stop loving him he will decide it's time to fall in love with me I'm not going to be there

Shattered Love by Katy
Hop up in your car Take her for a ride Go ahead just ignore What you feel inside
Be rid of all the drama Make it so it makes sense But don't be whining for me 'Cause I'm not coming back
You chose her That's your choice I encourage you To listen to your own voice
Don't be afraid To say what you feel Do that and babe Our love's always real
You and I - there's only one You and I - used to have so much fun Together I remember the two of us But now it's just shattered love I can't ever get back what you took from me Now it's all just a memory
It wasn't meant to be It wasn't destiny Call it what you want But I know you still want me
Don't shy away From what you feel Do that, babe and Our love's always real
You and I - there's only one You and I - used to have so much fun Together I remember the two of us But now it's just shattered love I can't ever get back what you took from me Now it's all a memory

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/2/2007 9:01:30 AM | No Man By La Belle Rouge
i could have a man, or men convenient and handsome enough some young enough to be my son but i don’t want, just any man
i want a man worthy of my love deserving of my respect
a man who knows how to appreciate the finer things in life such as a woman with a brain and soul as well as a body
a man who has lived and loved and perhaps loved and lost
i want a mature man who knows how to treat a lady with kindness and make her feel cherished and intensely desired... everyday
a man who knows how rare and precious the true love of a real woman is
one who will respect my opinions and grant my desires, when he can who will let me spoil him a bit and make him feel like king of my world
a tender man, but as strong as me and just as, or more, sensually passionate
i don’t want a man i can never touch who can never hold and kiss me who would not move heaven and earth to enfold me in his arms and make love to me
i’ll have such a man someday or i’ll have no man at all

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/2/2007 9:04:22 AM | WOMAN'S POEM
Before I lay me down to sleep, I pray for a man, who's not a creep, One who's handsome, smart and strong. One who loves to listen long, One who thinks before he speaks, One who'll call, not wait for weeks. I pray he's gainfully employed, When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed. Pulls out my chair and opens my door, Massages my back and begs to do more. Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind, Knows what to answer to "how big is my behind?" I pray that this man will love me to no end, And always be my very best friend.
MAN'S POEM
I pray for a deaf mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs who owns a liquor store and a golf course. This doesn't rhyme and I don't give a shit.

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/2/2007 11:43:17 AM | Could You Be The One For Me? by LoveBug
Could you be the one for me? Could you be my find? Could it be, after all this time, Fate is going to be kind?
Could you be the one for me, The one to help me forget The man that broke my heart, my soul The man that haunts me yet?
You tell me that I'm beautiful Something I've never heard But the one still lives here in my mind That couldn't spare a kind word
It's going to be hard to forget And pick up the pieces he left Could you be the one to teach How to love again and forget?
Could you be the one to come And mend my broken heart? Are you willing to piece together What another broke apart?
It won't be an easy job, you see My road has been long and rough And the heart that was once so soft Is now shut, locked, and tough
But I can feel my heart open again It's opening for you Just come in, and love me back That's all you have to do
I must ask you one small thing Before we kiss and part Please be nice and kind to me I'm tired of broken hearts
This is TRUE I am SOOOOOOOOOOO tired of broken hearts!!!

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/6/2007 6:33:46 PM | I used to write quite a bit of poetry, although the muse hasn't visited in a few years... Here are a couple of my favorites:
Sometimes was the mantra of me as a 19 year old man... Amazing that I am now almost twice the age of when I wrote it, and it still fits me...
Sometimes (c) 1992, EastColsGeek
Sometimes, I wonder, What has happened to this world? Sometimes, I cry, When I see how much hurt is in it... Sometimes, I laugh, Seeing the happiness that some people share, Sometimes, I ponder, How have we all made it this far? Sometimes, I feared, That the human race was going to end, Sometimes, I cringed, When I heard of the atrocities that are committed... Sometimes, I think, Are we going to make it? And then one day, it was all clear to me.... Sometimes, we have to try, To help other people out, Sometimes, we must suffer, So that other people do not, Sometimes, we must be strong, And support those with less faith, Sometimes, we must cry, To cleanse or hearts, Sometimes, we must care, If we don't, who will? Sometimes, we must stand together, So the group does not fall, Sometimes, we must fall, So that we learn how to get up, Sometimes, we must be stronger, So that another can lean on us, Sometimes, we must show love, In order to be loved, And sometimes, Loving is the thing that makes everything else matter.
Even at 19, I knew I wanted to be a Dad... Again, every bit as true now as then.
Hey You! (c) 1992 Jerod J. Husvar
Hey You! Yeah You! Pushing that junk, Man, don't you know what you are doing? You Damned little punk!
You're destroying our future, With your crack, coke and pot, People like you should be locked up, And left to rot!
You know that kid that OD'd, Johnie? Do you know who he was supposed to be??? The man that cured AIDS, Before he was 23!
You know that woman, Mary? HEY! You just hush! She was to be the first woman president, Before you turned her brain to mush!
But what do you care? All you love is the cash... And so you keep pumping our kids full Of acid, speed, and hash...
You slip through the justice system, Like a hot knife through butter, You don't even care, Who you just left dead in the gutter...
I hope that you hear this, And learn a lesson, maybe... Because GOD won't be able to protect you, If you ever hurt MY baby!
I think this was a rant against Daily Savings Time or something. :)
The Night, (c) 1992, Jerod J. Husvar
The sun goes down, Slowly taking with it the light, Bringing alive another half of existence, Unknown to those who fear the night.
Lovers come together, Safe in each other's arms, The farm hands put the animals down, On the family farms. Worlds of magic open, On the large, silver screen, People go to watch Connery, Or perhaps Mickey, or James Dean.
The workmen gather together, And hop into a car, To play darts, shoot pool, or drink a beer, At the neighborhood bar.
Teenage lovers sneak off, To go parking on Lovers Lane, Knowing if Father catches her, They're both going to be in a world of pain.
Come into the world of darkness, And don't bother bringing a gun, You won't need _that_ here, The night is a world of fun! So many people feel that The night is the end?? Come into it, and be alive, And please, bring a friend!
Final one for now...
That Someone Knows, (c) 1993, Jerod J. Husvar
From the moment we are born We are all together in spirit, Working towards the goal of happiness, And helping those who fear it.
We build each day A life that changes and grows, That knows no limits And that can take all of the world's blows.
We are all strong creatures We learn and love and think, And somehow we can always pull ourselves Back from the very brink.
Perhaps it is the time we spend Safely in our dreams, That allows us to build protections That shelter us from the world's painful screams.
Or maybe it is the knowledge That there will always be around, Others who are like us and Who will help us stay on safer ground.
We are not solitary creatures But rather we work as teams, There are always those who will be around No matter how bad life seems.
When we work together We will have neither limits nor ends, We can all soar as the eagle With the support of our friends.

To be remembered for the good we did And for what we built and shared, All we really need to leave behind us is That someone knows we loved and cared.

For five months I have waited And held all my tears But last night I let them flow I never again wanted to cry for you Because of what you did You don't deserve my tears
Because of what you did I Gave up I find no hope in humanity Because of what you did I see no love in a heart I look for the corruption Because of what you did I no longer care I try not to feel I try not to cry You don't deserve my tears
Because of what you did I lost the only thing that made me happy You were what got me through each day But because of what you did I don't know what to do
All that is left is tears Tears that have been waiting to fall Waiting for me to break Waiting for me to admit That I miss your love But you don't deserve me
Because of what you did I am now lost Alone without you or anybody else You don't deserve my tears But I still cry for you

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/13/2007 11:27:43 AM | Here are a couple of differnt works I wrote. One to a lover, a couple others were for fun. :)
Sitting By the Lakeshore, (c) 1996, Jerod J. Husvar
Sitting on a shoreline On a bright and sunny day, The Cleveland skyline beside me Across the torrid bay.
People all around me Enjoying the afternoon sun, Fishermen, sailors, pilots All experiencing their own type of fun.
The wind is blowing briskly Causing the waves to rise and fall, The freshness of its scent To the soul is an eerie call.
A speedboat rounds the breakwall With a loud and glorious roar, The spray and wake it casts Causes the heart to soar.
This place is quite refreshing, Making my soul fresh and new, My only regret is being alone Instead of sharing it with you.
Raven Feedback, © 1997, Jerod J. Husvar
We soar through the air But find our meals on the ground, We’ve a keener sense for death Than any vulture or blood-hound.
Some say that we carry souls, Which may or may not be true, And even if it be so The soul we carry today may not be you.
We’ve been to every battle Since the start of Man-kind, Maybe we just find a good meal… After all, the dead don’t mind.
We clean up your wasted life It’s a job we well know For you humans seem to shed blood Anywhere on this earth you go.
And so remember, my dear, The next time we visit your hood, That we are not are not inherently evil We’re just misunderstood.
Welcome, © 1997, Jerod J. Husvar
Welcome to my lair, my dear, Come in and have some wine? Oh my how the candle light Makes your beauty even more divine.
Don’t mind my eyes, my dear, I’m simply taking a minute to admire How your eyes and hair glisten In the light of the hearth’s fire.
My my you are so chilled, my dear, Let me warm you gently in my arms I will help take this chill from your flesh As I caress away all the world’s harms.
Let me hold you neck, my dear, As I quickly dispel your fright I’ll show you that bites aren’t always painful As my steamy breath fogs your sight.
Let my soft lips and tongue, my dear, Stir you into an insanity of screams As the passions works through our bodies Until we erupt in fountains and streams.
Welcome to my lair, my dear, Please don’t mind my eyes You’ve no idea how beautiful you look By the new light of sunrise.
What’s so great about sunrises? (C) 1997, Jerod J. Husvar
Much has been written And quite a bit more I guess has been said, About the glory of sunrises, If you ask me, these people aren’t quite right in the head!
Each morning like clockwork The sun brings out its hot ugly face, And those who prefer the cool dark Begin to scurry off to a safer space.
With the dawn comes daily partings Of lovers who’d rather stay snuggled in bed, Forced apart by the sun’s light And man’s need to earn the daily bread.
Sunrises aren’t all that pretty It just sort of appears, But sunsets are glorious Because we know the night draws near.
Every days starts the same The magic creatures all away run, Until another nightfall draws close Sunrise interrupts all the fun.
So I ask you quite seriously With all of their ugly little surprises, Please tell me, oh tell me... What’s so great about sunrises?

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/14/2007 6:30:14 AM | Temptress
Say you, that you love this woman ? What means has she of holding your heart ? What trickery has she used to enslave you? Be she temptress, or vixen, or winged angel, How comes she to know the hidden Desires of your mind ? Has her touch branded you, left its mark upon skin and soul, left you afraid to move, lest the sultry caress Become only a memory ? Does she sing sweet, melodic love songs that Invade your very soul ? Be she a minstrel of words, capturing you with lyrics of Honey coated inspiration ? Are her hands soft, her arms open and inviting ? Her eyes...do they mesmerize you, cradle you in warmth, Wrapping you in the soft gaze only lovers know ? Confess that I might know where I begin, and the past which holds you captive, A temptress.

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/15/2007 12:22:43 PM | I Haven’t Met her Yet
When I was young I remember being told; Someday I’d meet an Angel … an Angel to hold. And as the years passed, with each girl I met; I’d say to myself, “I haven’t met her yet.”
Then the day finally arrived when I was sure; I had met my Angel … yes, it had to be her. She caught my eye and captured my heart; And it marked the beginning of a wonderful start.
From that day forward … it seemed as though; What I was told in my youth really was so. I had found my Angel and it was true she was mine; Surely we’d stay together for the rest of all time.
But people change and no one is spared; And it matters not that their loved ones have cared. And so it was with this Angel, this Angel of mine; But I chose not to see it and ignore all the signs.
Until the day finally came when I could ignore no longer; And with each passing day, the truth only grew stronger. My path was so clear … a divorce I would get; And I thought to myself, “I haven’t met her yet..”
The days that followed were difficult and long; But for the sake of my children I tried to stay strong. Life continues even in the most difficult of days; And with the help of the Father I found my way.
For the next few years, I chose to work on me; Until I could look in the mirror and like what I see. So a new day is here and my mission is set; As I say to myself, “I haven’t met her yet.”

ROBINSON LOVE ME JUST ENOUGH , ALLOW ME THE FREEDOM TO RELEASE THE CHILD THAT I HOLD WITHIN . BE THERE FOR ME , ON THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU FEEL MY SPIRIT SLIP AND FADE. WATCH ME FROM AFAR , WHEN TRY WITH ALL MY HEART ,THOUGH I KNOW I CAN'T WIN , UNDERSTAND ME FOR MY ARROGANCE , FOOLISHLY PERSECUTE MYSELF FOR MISTAKES I'VE MADE . PLEASE DON'T LIVE IN MY BACK POCKET , THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I WILL STUMBLE AND FALL , RESPECT ME FOR WHAT I APPEAR TO BE , IT'S JUST MY CAMOUFLAGE I CAN NEVER GIVE UP. LET ME RUN WITH RECKLESS ABANDON ,HEAD FIRST , OFFER ME YOUR HAND , I'LL NEED IT MOST OF ALL . WIPE AWAY MY TEARS , TELL ME "IT'S TIME TO SUCK IT UP AND BE TOUGH". IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR? A LOVE THAT LET'S ME MAKE MISTAKES , SOMEONE IN MY LIFE WHO'LL STAY. ALLOW ME TO HAVE SHORTCOMINGS . WOULD YOU RACE THROUGH LIFE WITH ME , UNFETTERED ? KNOWING I DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS AND AT TIMES WE'D LOSE OUR WAY , IF I DRIFT TOO FAR FROM MY APPOINTED PATH , WILL YOU REACH FOR ME ? KEEP ME, TETHERED . FORGIVE ME FOR MY TEMPER , SEEMS I LASH OUT THE MOST TO THE ONES THAT I LOVE , ]FOR I WILL BE YOUR LOVE RIVER , STARTING SMALL . WITH TWISTS AND TURNS, A LARGE PART OF YOU IN THE END . ANTICIPATE , I MAY BE HARD ON YOU . LOOK FORWARD TO DAYS , HANDLING ME WITH KID GLOVES , CANDLE LIT NIGHTS , LOVING YOU . MY SOLEMN PROMISE , I'LL ALWAYS BE YOUR BEST FRIEND . I WILL BE YOUR PHOENIX . A COMET TO FLASH THROUGH YOUR LIFE'S SKY .AT TIMES I'LL MAKE YOU HATE YOURSELF . ASK HOW "YOU GOT TANGLED UP IN THIS" ? A LOOK IN MY EYES , TOUCH OF MY HAND , WILL CAUSE YOU TO FORGET . "WHY"? OUR LIVES AT WARP EIGHT . TO SUDDENLY STOP AND ASK YOU FOR A HUG AND A KISS , A LITTLE SORROW SPRINKLED ON A LOT OF JOY . LEND ME YOUR LIFE , TIL THE DAY THAT I DIE . I CAN MAKE FEW PROMISES . FOR ALL THAT I AM OR HOPE TO BE, KNOW THAT IT IS REAL , TOO MUCH TO ASK ? I SEEK A LOVE WHO WILL PASS , LOOKING WELL WORN AND WEATHERED , I'LL DO MY DAMNEDEST TO FORCE YOU TO THINK , NOT A DAY FROM NOW THAT YOU WON'T FEEL. YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE AND YOUR BEST DREAM , I SWEAR , "IF YOU'LL JUST KEEP ME, TETHERED". This was written for a soul mate. It was my explanation of me.

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 4/25/2007 6:58:32 PM | This poem describes alot of what my life has been like this past year... Looking back at where I was a year ago to who I am today and the all of the different paths that has made me who I am now....
*********************************************
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become.
You never know who these people may be; your roommate, your neighbor, professor, long lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger who, when you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.
And sometimes things happen to you and at the time they seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never have realized your potential, strength, will power of heart.
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments or true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of the soul.
Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smooth paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet who affect your life and successes and downfalls you experience, they are the ones who create who you are. Even the bad experience can be learned from... Those lessons are the hardest and probably the most important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart... forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen, let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.
You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

| Do you have a poem to share with the rest of us? Post it here Posted: 6/4/2007 7:14:37 PM | The empty feeling of being alone, When the one you love has suddenly flown, The lonliness felt deep down inside, No night has passed that I have not cried.
My bestest friend he had become, But suddenly now my emotions are all numb. I was certain a message had come from above, and had given me permission to give him my love.
The darkness is now starting to set in, I fear that I will never be able to love again. The pain that I've endured seems to be more than I can bare, I feel as if noone will even care.
