| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/14/2008 11:37:46 AM | everyone knows that owners want to sack Rafa
what the hell do north americans know about football? why do the English and their goverment let north americans take over their teams? it is beyond my.....................
Liverpool will play the semifinal in the European Cup, they have many chances to defeat Chelsea, maybe they lift the trophy. and let us not forget they are fourth in the EPL.
even so, those bloody owners do not want Rafa.
sod off! | |

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/14/2008 11:43:59 AM | If we as supporters don't find a way to oppose these t-o-s-s-e-r's soon, the success of the past will remain the past. Klinsman was a good player, has the ability to instill passion, but is in no way comparable to Rafa, yes his rotational ideas were a bit awry at times, but this man has brought two european finals, ask ferguson or whinger to do that in three seasons.
COME ON, YOU AMERICAN SLEEZE BAG DO THE DECENT THING AND

what the hell do north americans know about football?
Care to rephrase that? Millions of north americans do know about football. And I'll bet a fair chunk of them know a lot more about it than you. Most north american families are originally from europe, asia, africa and south america so to you.
|
| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/14/2008 9:27:49 PM | actually pedro, I know quite a FAIR amount of football thank you very much.
There are plenty of Europeans over here who do follow it religiously from their family roots so don't generalize it.

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/15/2008 9:50:45 AM | i respect everyone of course, but north americans really know nothing about football. they may follow the sport, but you always hear them slagging it off, accusing it of low scoring, etc RUBBISH!
as for the English, well i really like them! England is a great football country (similar to Spain) but what i do not really understand is the English kneeling at north american feet! you let them take over your own teams! what is the next? cheerleaders on the pitch? stoppages or breaks? TV commercials after a player is tackled? PLEASE!

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/15/2008 10:26:40 AM | Pedro, A few of us Americans know European football & understand the tradition & beauty of European football. That said it is less than probably 5% if you include Europeans currently living in America. Fans are whining about Hicks..What about your own countrymen who are shareholders that are selling you out for the money. | |

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/15/2008 4:33:07 PM | again Pedro, you continue to generalize. You do realize there are a ton of European expats living in North America, and there is a ton of Scots, Brits, and Irish here in Canada alone. So do not completely over analzye the entire population. I understand what you are saying, there is a large number of North Americans who really do not care about the game an obviously they have the same sort of remarks to footy fans as you would have on North Americans. But let's be fair here, the more you point the finger and generalize on the North American population, the more it looks bad on the part of football fans all over. The sport is considered new to them, so obviously it is tough to take in, however in the MLS, majority of the fans are actually Mexican, South Americans, Italians and Portugese who have migrated to the States and Canada. | |
|
| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/16/2008 10:37:31 AM | | Well, you lot obviously all know a hell of allot about British football to respect and make comment about what a significant day yesterday was in not just the history of LFC but the history of British football as a whole. | |
|
| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/16/2008 12:04:38 PM | i am really sorry if someone has been fuming because of my posts
of course there are many north americans who follow and like football. what i mean is even some of those who like it often criticise it, accusing it of low scoring, etc and it makes me fume really!
even some of them dare say the sport would be better for them if new rules were introduced or changed!
poor David Beckham thought the whole of USA would embrace football. i perfectly remember his first words during an interview on american soil. idiot!

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/16/2008 3:39:23 PM | Fiona hon sometimes things just fall on deaf ears, significance of the important can be easily undermined by something so trivial.

Too much blaming going on here and now Rafa is being dragged deeper into it, it was only five months ago Hicks was telling Rafa to just concentrate on the football. Wish this idiot would make his mind up..........

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/18/2008 10:44:00 AM | ^^^^^^^that is what you get when you the English kneel at foreign feet and money, money taking over your own football teams | |

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/18/2008 8:15:30 PM | Heard a rumor that Samir Nasri might be going to LFC in the summer. Although somehow I find that very unlikely considering it'd likely be a pretty high profile move.
I don't know about Gareth Barry going to LFC, I don't think he'd fit with the club's formation.
Going to miss tomorrow's game, going to have to catch the re-run..

| Liverpool F.C Posted: 4/19/2008 5:56:07 AM | Rafael Benitez today revealed he has already made plans to strengthen his squad for next season. Despite facing the challenge of trying to lead the Reds to more European glory this campaign, the Liverpool boss admits plans are already underway - and deals have already been set in place - to bring fresh faces to the club in time for the new campaign. "We are working on trying to improve the squad for next season," said Benitez. "We have some movements for next season, so we will continue trying to do the same. "At least we are trying to go forward. We have had meetings with the scouting department, we talk about targets and they travel all around the world talking with players and agents. We are trying to do our job. "We were this morning progressing in some issues and we will do the same. We have some signings for the next season done. They are senior players for the first team and young players for the first team and reserve team. Two of them are really close, young players, and one senior player is done. He talks good English, but is not English." | |
