I agree they want Rafa out, the fans dont. There were reports again this week linking Rafa with yet another club... thank god Klinsman is spoken for.... just incase they do the insurance policy line again. W@nkers. Sorry.

They dont care about Rafa, they dont care about the fans, Liverpool Football Club, is in the wrong hands... that has been shouted from the Kop, yet they dont seem to get the point... even when they are called lying barstewards, they dont get it, his son gets abused at the Sandon, they still dont get it....

yeah, SG is so much a better player then cry baby frank....

even the songs say it... well, tought my daughters that one as there is no swearing in it! lol

Charged him, but lets pray they keep it to a one match ban.....

My point is that asking Torres to play a lone striker role is unfair.

Blimey, Great point..That said, I don't feel Crouch is the right fit for Torres if the Reds want to win the EPL. They will have to bring in another World class striker.

I agree with the Torres statment.
Unless they play a 4-5-1 setting where one one of the centre mid's attack a little more than the other 2 so at least Torres can run/play off him. But even then like you said, Crouch has no business in the club if they want to play like that. another Owen type player would be needed for that, but they dont come around every day.

Also I heard that a few Spanish clubs are courting Rafa. This could very well be his last season with Liverpool.

oh oh oh so much since my last post!
Ok Torres as a lone striker, he is feeding off Stevie G very well... As long as he gets the support from mid field and the wingers he'll do just fine... Howevber another striker willing to sit ont he bench would be nice...

As for the everton comment.... crack me up....Superman quoted the great bill shankly there...... Your lot may be up for title number 17, yet you still dont know when to say, fair do's you did well.... we will give you a run for your money, what happens when Sir Alex walks?? Keano had a good rip at him this week!! Now thats class....

Raf a wont leave, if he was going to he would of by now, now if he was sacked, that would be another story, there is a £5m clause in his contract that the club will have to pay if that happens.

Rafa is linked with other clubs regularly, why not? he is a top manager. He doenst get the support from the boardroom, who again as bill shankly said should only be there to sign the cheques. He knows the fans love him, it wouldnt be an easy thing for him to do to walk away. But maybe with the speculation and the brown nosing the owners are currently doing it would be enough to put pressure on the idiot owners to cough up and pay out for the new players needed so we are not in 'only' 4th place...

Not long back from todays game, what a day ! Mate gets smashed in the face from a wayward ball kicked by an Everton player in the warmup (their only shot remotely on target lol), Nando scores goal 100 and i got to bask in the sunshine too which was a bonus !

Now, with all the speculation rearing its ugly head again this week, it was good to hear old George having his say, i listened to the interview he did for a Canadian radio station and to say there is little love between him and Tom would be an understatement. from what i could gather from that is George has no intentions of selling any of his shares to Tom and is willing to get into bed with DIC with him eventually being a minority shareholder, DIC taking the reigns so to speak and all of this could happen in the next coming weeks. The sooner this is all over the better, we can march on to Moscow with no toubles on our minds, secure No6 and have a decent platform for the start of next season, by then Babel, Skrtel and Lucas will be bedded in, Agger will be back to solidify the back line and hopefully more players will come in once the dead wood has been shipped out, Rafa has apparently secured three players on pre-contracts ahead of the summer transfer window, two youth and one first teamer, hopefully we will know exactly who they are this week.

The futures bright, the futures RED!

They dont care about Rafa, they dont care about the fans, Liverpool Football Club, is in the wrong hands.

Walk On.....

Though I am an American I do agree that LFC is in the wrong hands. If it was an American owner who truely embraced European football & actually cared about the fan base & placing a championship club on the pitch I think the fans could live with that. Unfortunately to the ownership it is a business & nothing more. I think it should be required that the owners of these clubs at least have some passion or understanding for this great sport & the tradition of football in the EPL.
That said, I am becoming more & more of a Torres fan with each passing match. Never do you see this young star complain, dive or lack effort on the pitch. He displays the professionalism you won't see from other young strikers such as ManU's Ronoldo.
Fernando Torres is a true role model for the young fans of Liverpool & the Spanish National team.

Agreed, the current owners know little to nothing of the passion surrounding our club. The result of this is they have effectively stood on toes of the wrong people.

Great article today, only just caught it, very good read. Don't read the official web site often...

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N159367080331-1327.htm

did i ever mention that i love Rafa???

Had my kids shouting the Torres chant around the living room yesterday then doing the bounce! funny, arms in the air the win yesterday was needed after last sunday...

next game for me is Blackburn, taking 2 of the kids, so will be in Anny road... how the heck do kids learn to be a fan in that stand??

and what self respecting Liverpool fan would read that rag? what a stupid thing to bring up in a liverpool thread... geeze...

.YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO DO SO!

Sadly that is the only quote in the whole of your statment worth responding too.

I agree we don't have the money, we are £350m (just £44m 14 months ago) in debt to your clubs £700m...

Your point is?

Edit:
Oh, ok, i bit, Kuyt was our leading prem scorer last season, 2nd in all comps...

VV Kuyt seems to get in all positions, he cant be everywhere, i would rather have his work rate at creating at the moment.

Ronaldo is a winger, he just has a nack of putting shrek in his place... where would uts be without his 26 goals this season?

We also had Anelka for a season, GH i think it was at the time didn't sign him. Dont know why. I dont think Rafa went for him as simply we dont have the money, heck we dont even know if we are going to have the same owners from one day to the next... As fpor Crouch... read this article http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N159367080331-1327.htm

^^^^^^ Excuse me, but Ronaldo didn't do it in his first season. And Fungusbum didn't do it in his first three, or was it four. Ok so he's made up for it, but like Chelsea without Mourinho, Man Utd will be the same with the man sponsored by Seiko.

Babel is only in his first season, still learning & improving. He's a right footer playing on the left the majority of the time. I think next season it could be a case of Pennant out, a left winger in & Babel over to his favoured right.

Ajax always used to play him on the right & that is what got him noticed by THE Reds

Kuyt has been getting into great positions & been very unlucky the majority of the time. He's a striker in the mould of Hughes & Dalglish, but sadly without as many goals as he should & is able to get.

Meant for Sarcastic by the way

Torres has definitely proved that he is one of the best strikers in the world. To come into the EPL and do what he has done is quite a feat, afterall, it is the best league in the world. But imagine what he could do if he had another top class striker with him. You only have to look at Rooney/Tevez or Berbatov/Keane to understand my point.
Liverpool should have gone after Anelka, imagine that partnership. Avram Grant is stupid for not playing a 4-4-2 with Anelka and Drogba.
I still don't understand why Crouch doesn't play more. Whenever he plays, he plays well.

Not as unlucky as the fans that watched him hit the worst shot I've ever seen in the England game. Typical Stevie performance. Funny how Beckham was the BEST player out on the field for either team.

Crouch's goal to playing time ratio looks pretty good to me. He has 8 goals so far, tied for 4th on the team. But compare that to Gerrard who has 29 but has had 4x the playing time. Take a lookse.

http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/premiership/liverpool-fc/appearances/

I really could care less about old rickity sticks, I just think he has been hard done by.

They are playing a 4-4-1-1 system, which is a modified 4-4-2. Crouch can play that. He's more effective at it than Voronincanpoop or Gout. Owen might be available if the price is right.

LOUSY statement to make, obviously you know not a great deal about football to make it and to expect any Liverpool fan to read that rag you must be delusional. Dont forget this is Babels first season (babbel played years ago and has since retired),is playing out of position on purpose to acclimatise him to the game.

Now, going by what you have said you must be a united fan, nothing wrong with that, each to their own i say but remember football was going long before 1991, despite what sky sports say. Fergie was 1, thats ONE game away from getting the bullet after how many years of not winning anything ?????????? People harp on about Rafa not winning the prem, compare his record to Fergusons and Wengers for the same amount of tenure and your arguement goes out of the window. Out of Wenger and Ferguson Wenger is the youth in the prem, only been there ten years, Rafa is a mere infant in comparison. Compare their records when their tenure at their respective clubs is the same, until then you have no arguement.

You also go on about scoring records, without Ronaldo you lose games, FACT. Never talk about one trick ponies while you are riding one yourself, yes teams lose or draw without their "gem" in the side, to say or even insinuate that united are better with or without players and any of them could score is a little overstretched, research goes a long way when needed.

You may be the better team in the prem but in Europe you have a long way to go, a very very long way to go, in fact this is the one thing that is the choker around fergies neck and the one reason he wont quit!
Oh, and our 18 league titles as well, cant forget that important bit !

"after all, the EPL is the best league in the world"

i imagine you must be an English speaking person, maybe from Britain or North America. so you understand what you hear on TV, etcccc and that makes you fall into temptation as we say in Spain to state that the English have the best league.

well according to some football authorities the best league is in Spain, followed by Germany. in fact Spain has seen the best footballers in the last years, say, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Figo, Beckham, etc and i would add that most players would love to play in Spain for both Barcelona or Real Madrid as they always say.

and let us not forget that even Alex Ferguson after being defeated 2-3 by Real Madrid at Old Trafford in 2000 stated literally that "if you don't have the best players.........." Real Madrid lifted the European Cup in 2000, there were some great matches, above all the victory over Man United at Old Trafford with beautiful goals scored by Raul, and a splendid 'taconazo' (i do not know the English translation) by the Argentinian Fernando Redondo.

if you want to see his majestic 'taconazo' followed by Raul's goal, please visit this link:

Pedro you cant argue Spain has a good league, big difference between the EPL and them though, differing paces means a different style. Some players from Spain dont make it over here, ala Morientes, yet some fly out of the blocks like there is no change, like Torres. Morientes flopped bigtime here which was a crying shame, yet went back to Spain and done well, you only have to look at one of the Spanish leagues top scorers last year to see the difference.

(Clue, was a former Fulham and Tottenham player, went to Seville, yet could't hit a cows backside with a banjo when he was here !)

Kanoute right?

Oh how did I know you'd jump on my comment. Yes I'm both british and north american, what's your point? I watch games from the different leagues. I find Serie A a good remedy for insomnia.

Hmmm, would've been nice to see those players ply their trade in England, minus Beckham of course. A few might've flopped. I'd like to play in Spain too if I was playing in England, easier league and not so much rain.

I remember that game and the move that Redondo made. He made Keane look like a pub player and that is not easy. It's a shame Redondo got injured and his career crashed.

That link doesn't work. I wanted to see the move again.

If United have the best defense and midfield in world football and also given the fact that you have at least SIX players in your current squad that cost more than any player we have ever had (Apart from Torres) don't you think that your solitary ONE CL final/win is a bit pathetic? Maybe you should buy some more big game players that don't go missing when the going gets a bit rough (Rooney/Ronaldo etc).

As for Liverpool and the current situation well for one thing I want the ownership situation resolved very quickly. Personally I think that Hicks is trying to bleed the club dry and I hope that what Gillette said about their relationship being untenable forces Hicks to sell to DIC even if it is at some ridiculously inflated price.

In terms of our performance against Everton,I thought it was ok but it showed that we need some more quality on the wings and someone other than Torres who knows how to put the ball in the net. Kuyt is NOT a winger and to be honest I would prefer to see Crouch given a few games. A few people have said that he is not good enough as a partner/foil for Torres, but I have to disagree with that. I think that Crouch could/should be used against teams that are pretty tight at the back. Occasionally such teams deny Torres the time and space he needs and I think that having Crouch up front with Torres playing just behind him would create a lot of problems for defences and create a bit more space for Torres.

As I mentioned before,Man Utd think they are the best thing ever but lets be honest without those Premium signings (Rooney,Ferdinand,Carrick,Hargreaves,Nani,Tevez etc) they would be nowhere near the team they are. Since Souness was in charge we have had to try and patch up our squads rather than doing what others have been able to do in supplimenting a already good squad with 2-3 top quality players each season. I mean lets be honest Torres is the first bonafide top player we have been able to buy.

We need funds to be able to buy such players and compete with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd. With the current owners in charge, I fear it will be another season of bargan basement shopping.

I was agreeing with you about the spanish league so ner ! Its slower than ours but very technical, thats the beauty of watching it.

LittleOldMe, sorry thing is i cant see crouchy being with us next season which is a darned shame, nobody else brings qualities to the game like he does for a big lad but pace is the one thing he is short of, hence the reason Rafa uses Gerrard as Nando's cover man. Voronin has the pace and strength, injury has kept him out and again i really dont know if he is still held in Rafa's plans for next season. If you have a look at Rafa's latest interview (TheTimesonline) he gives some hints about which direction he is going in. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/liverpool/article3648804.ece
The interview was with Guillem Ballague, one of only a few reporters he trusts as you probably well know, so its quite open and no hiding away like he has to do with the British reporters who love to twist things to make better stories.

I dont know if you heard the interview George did with a canadian radio station, the whole interview can be downloaded by clicking on this link
