That was directed at Pepe not you Lepe.

Nice to see some people agree with me on Crouch.

Lostleprichaun, everyone knows that Crouch is not that quick but that is not what he is about. There is no-one better in our squad at playing up front on his own and knocking down/holding the ball for someone else to latch onto. Also given the amount of time he has played he also chips in with a few goals unlike Kuyt who could not score in a brothel. As for voronin, never good enough for LFC even before he came here, got worse and is now injured = Bye Bye Andrei

So for the occasional game/situation I would like to see Crouch up front with Torres just behind him and Gerrard either in CM alongside Mascherano (Allowing him to go forward more than if he was playing alongside Alonso or Lucas) or on the right so that he can whip some balls in for Crouchinho.

I heard the interview on the day it happened. Its hard to know what exactly is going on without being directly involved, however if Gillete is being truthful about what has gone on and how he feels then I am glad he said what he did as it shows what a son of a gun (Not the word I wanted to use) Hicks is. To be honest If I had to choose between a big name signing this summer or Hicks going home, I would take the latter without a moments hesitation.

Lets just hope we get a good result tomorrow

"all the talented players should be protected by the referee from abuse and getting kicked, the english game should go european so that they will be better protected ah thats jealousy on your part because if that law was enforced wouldnt that mean no liverpool players would be protected as none of them are talented lol

LittleOldMe, i didnt say crouchie wasnt any good, just slow ! As for Voronin i didnt say he was any good just faster than crouch !!

Its obvious changes are going to be made in the summer, i mean you have talk of Alonso going, replaced by Pirlo (you got to be joking), Rafinha coming in as right back, Bentley being looked at etc, a lot of speculation on top of three deals that have apparently been done (two youth one first teamer).

The thing is we bought a fair few young players over the last couple of seasons and none of them are getting anywhere near the first team. Anderson is out on Loan, Leto is still in the reserves as is Nemeth who looks like a very promising striker from what I have seen of the reserve games. There are others, but they are even further away from the first team than those three.

If Rafa is not going to try and blood some of these youngsters he may as well get rid of a lot of dead wood (Riise,Kuyt,Voronin,Penant,CarsonVoronin,Kewel etc) and use the money gained/Saved to buy us 2/3 top class players, hopefully 2 wingers and another striker to play with Torres AND CROUCH.

As for Alonso, for me he has gone right off the boil. I don't know if you noticed in the last game (Amongst others) but he was very ponderous on the ball and was cuaght in possesion a few times. Thats something we could do without and like the others I mentioned, if he does not turn it round quickly he might be sold, which could then fund a big signing.

Too right bud, Riise has apparently stated he wants away and to be truthful i would let him go, Kewell is being sniffed at by Celtic and they can have him by all means, let them dish out the sick pay instead of us ! Pennant hasn't really cut it, mind you with Kuyt on the wing he isnt getting the chances to play but in honesty i cant see him improving. Voronin will go back to northern europe i think, will make us a bit of cash which cant be sniffed at he cost nothing, Carson looked like a dead cert to Villa for around £10 mill, rumours are abound today they might just send him back to us, Idrizaj or however you spell it is a bit of a calamitus so its a coin flick to who would stay if Carson came back.
Rafa has been impressed with Insua so he might get more of a game next season, would like to see Plessis and Nemeth get a run out next year at some point too. With the reserves adapting the the same formation while in the states to the first teams recent one others have started to stand out a little more. I mean we must be doing something right they are sat at the top of the league and just done the double over Everton, puts the big boys to shame doesnt it .
Alonso, don't get me started !!!!!! That man is driving me mental, most of the second half on sunday was spent shouting at him to watch out, his time on the ball got longer and longer as the game went on, early in the first half there was some crisp movement from him but after that it dwindled to nothing. Honestly if he plays like that tonight if he is selected we will suffer, thank god we got "Tommy" back tonight to kick some backside in the centre of the park.

We were lucky not to get mauled ! Any other day that penalty against Kuyt would have been given, we can count ourselves lucky tonight to come away with a draw. Good vital away goal but a poor performance.

Gout almost cost them the game. Arsenal outplayed Liverpool badly. Both Torres and Gerrard were ineffectual. Arsenal scored twice, one in their own net, and should have had more, not to mention that they should've had a penalty.
But Liverpool is in good position to advance, assuming they can win at Anfield.

To be fair yes that may have been a penatly but on more then one occasion we didnt get a free kick, my point was, Kuyt is slated big time, i have a soft spot for him as he seems to really go for it, i think last nights was his 11th goal of the season, not bad for some one playing 'out of place'. Do you not think it has to do with European referee's?

Kuyt's arm didn't cost us the game, and the fact he got in and went for the ball that got the goal saved the game from being a loss. Gerrard at most points of the game seemed to be the only one going for it, it was a poor performance by both team sin all fairness. Fabregas just wasn't there at all... Arsenal was not the better of the two teams though, they were at home and should of had us by the short and curly's, they didn't. We have a vital away goal, hopefully it will count for something.

Fabregas wasn't in the game because Javier had him in his pocket all game. Wasn't sure we would get past Arsenal but now we have a good chance because we have no need to attack them at home, they must come on to us at some stage and we can take them on the break. Then it's just another semi with Chelski, oh the joy :)

I would have said the same thing regardless of who it was, contact like that in the box is a major no no, look how many soft penalties have been given this season alone, you cant take the risk in a game like this and he was very lucky to get away with it.

hope not fenerbachi's goals, even the OG was fantastic, wouldn't mind seeing some more of those... besides, if we were to loose against the chavs, would be rather painful....

Agreed, but if it had been a penalty would he still be vilified for the loss of the game given that he scored the equaliser? or would it of then been seen as a bit harsh and pity given??

I would have looked at it as a moment of madness after producing one of joy, Princess fiona, i think having Kuyt on the back of my Euro home top shows my support for the lad, come to think of it i haven't even slated the player in this thread!

I just kiss his arse... its the blonde hair thing.... ok, and the legs...

no, message 158 looks a bit down on him that's all. Most of the reds on here i rant with on messages, so they know i'm soft on the guy. People don't see him scoring goals, mad thing is, he's our leading scorer in Europe, i don't like moaning about players too much, they work as a team, we have a sh*t game its a team thing, not just a player, if one has a stinker and they get slagged off, then they get it pointed at for that game, not in general, unless the players name is Harry Kewell that is.... he gets his own rules.... rant about him all you like....

Yeah, i'm also poor, by the time the kids have their shits, i cant afford one for me.....

Feck, i'll never be happy to have them here, or live with it quietly.... they don't belong, they dont know what they are doing, they are liars and robbing our club blind... I still havent figured out what ill say to the kids about not getting them the new kit... fingers crossed it will be sorted out before next season, of not we are going to get fook all in the transfer window and start another season with few hopes...

Sort of sums most of it up, easier then a list of articles.... yes, its mainly hicks, but Gillette at least knows to keep his mouth shut...

Message 159 was about pennant, not kuyt lol !
gpj, the three you are talking about apparently were a done deal some time ago, the two young uns coming from south america, they were both scouted in january but the first teamer is still a mystery, some say rafinha some say villa ! If voro has gone for 7 mill that is good business imo, but what about the paper talk about pennant going at the end of the season, any truth in it ??

my boss is a ex chelsea player, he nows a lot of people around the football scene, lol i asked him bout pennant today and he has said that rafa rates him and hes part of the future plans,, i will wait with baited breath!!!!

i like pennant him and babel play quite alike except babel can be a bit selfish with the ball (its not critisism its a comment) bit like baros used to be "head down and shoot" pennant can cross that ball inch perfect..

i suppose my only critism beit only a small one is "too many central defenders" and not enough wing players.. my 3rd idle "carragher" plays out of position, but he does well wherever he plays..

if i had one wish it would be to see him score the winner in moscow!! and my hero tommy smith to hand him the euro cup lol
