Do guys hold out?

There could have been a poorly known Man Rule at play here: a guy isn't supposed to have sex with a woman until she's given him three erections in her complete absence. (i.e., they're due to him thinking about her) That could easily be mis-read as "holding out".

Alas, we'll never know how it turned out, as the OP has left the building.

Well holding out depends on how he feels about you. I have been known to hold on a few women, just to get to know them better.

If you are already sexually active and he is "holding out", then that is different problems on it's own. A few things can effect a man's mood towards sex. Like stress, job, kids, moods, even timing. Some men are not turned on by making all the moves all the time. sometimes he would like a more aggressive woman.

Time for you to talk to the guy

Very funny !

After all the forum messages I read about women complaining about men who want sex on the first date !

Agreed. Women hold out all the time, but there's something wrong if guys do it. Contrary to what some have said here, some guys can and do hold out for various reasons.

Had an ex try that on me once.

I went to a poker game, and she had made plans without telling me. (I'm such a pig.)

She was angry because I wasn't available... I was annoyed because she assumed that I would be at her disposal without asking first. No big deal, but she decided the best way to ensure I would be more "agreeable" in future would be to cut me off.

Search my history to learn about the "Take-Away".

So I called the bluff. I cut her off.

I'd do things like run my hands through her hair, give her a nice neck and back massage, start to kiss her from her ears to her neck down to her... ahem! Anyways, I'd then break off, go downstairs and bust one out, come upstairs, smile sweetly, kiss her on the cheek, and go to directly to sleep.

Oh, and I hid the toy box.

She didn't last 3 days.

I hate those control games.
But cops generally hate using their gun.
Doesn't mean they don't know how to use it.
So don't pull a knife on one.

No, guys can not hold out. They have to either be Queer or not be able to medically physically do sex!! Any guy with either one of those problems will of course try to use religion or other bogus. But realities are the only realness in this life.

Guys hold out on you :

a) when they break off with you
b) when they have a harem (wait till your turn comes back around)

All men are diffrent. I like to wait atleast 3 months before sleeping with someone, sometime it can take 8 months or even a year. It just depends on how I feel and where I want the relationship to go. I enjoy the anticipation of the sexual encounter. Tantric sex can be amazing. Just teasing and touching, little previews. Naked but no intercourse. It can be amazing.

As for time frame men all differ, and it has to do with moods and whats going on in life. Sometimes I can go everyday for 6 or 7 months, and then sometimes I have periods where its once a week, there have even been periods where I am content with once a month. So I wouldnt be hugely concerned. You could try talking about it though. Believe me, honesty and knowing whats bothering a person you care about matters alot. With holding thoughts and feelings can be as bad and scarring as lying when a person finds out. So instead of asking us, talk to your partner.

I've never been involved in a romantic situation at all, just the way my emotions are towards sexuality. I would be too shy to get intimate with a girl, so she doesn't get the idea that I only want THAT from her, or that I get too obssessed with it. If I was in a long term relationship or dating someone, I would probably wait much longer than 5 months. I hold out because my emotions say so.

It sounds like he's holding out on you. We hold out, but only if it's for a good cause. For instance, if you're crashing at a buddy's place like at New Years, or if we're at work or having dinner with the folks or something. Guys dont generally hold out, unless they're trying to be serious about something.

To any woman who finds it amusing/ridiculous that a man would want to hold off on having sex: you are being somewhat sexist. Fact is, everyone is an individual and their actions are driven by their values, NOT by their gender.

On three seperate occasions I've had women try to sleep with me on the first or second date, and all three times I stopped seeing them because ofit. And one of them had the nerve to say "But you're a guy!" .. Sigh..
