| What is your favourite Beatles Album/Song??? Posted: 2/5/2008 6:05:44 PM | have to go with Revolver or Sgt Pepper. So many new things were going on and they really began to break the chains of "pop" music by adding new instruments, new ways of recording them, and guests (a full - out "happening" when they recorded a Day in the Life.)
For the song: oh man, so many gems. I guess its a toss up on Revolver between I'm Only Sleeping and Here, There and Everywhere. for Sgt Pepper, its another tie... She's Leaving Home, When I'm 64 and a Day in the Life

Saw all the Beatles stuff, she absolutely loves them, as do I. There's an Inductees Jukebox, and we listened to parts of almost every Beatles song together with a pair of headsets. We were singing, playing air guitar, drumming on the box. We must have been quite the sight!

It also helps that I know all 0f the songs and can sing along when I'm learning and strumming :) As for the original question, I don't know if I could pick just one song... different ones mean different things...

Favourite Beatles compilation? The soundtrack from the Cirque du Soleil show, Love. It's simply AMAZING... 130 pieces of music edited together to create 26 songs. Half the fun of listening to it is trying to figure out where the individual pieces of music came from.

| What is your favourite Beatles Album/Song??? Posted: 9/3/2008 10:39:57 AM | Favourite album - "Please Please Me," their first British album, recorded in only 9 hours and 45 minutes on February 11, 1963. John was quoted once as saying it was his favourite album simply because it was done in one day.
Favourite song - "Twist and Shout," the closing track on said album. John's voice was so ravaged because he'd been recording all day with a cold and a sore throat......he did the majority of the lead vocals that day....but they nailed it on the very first take. The only thing that comes close is their version of "Long Tall Sally," also recorded in one absolutely equally wild and beautiful take less than a year later.
But "She Loves You" is second to "Twist and Shout," which is my favourite song ever recorded by anyone. :)

I do love almost all their albums and songs - they have something for every mood and every occasion! Their versatility is what made them great! 'Cause frankly they really can't sing that well!!
