| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/1/2007 5:52:31 PM | | No, it's not silly at all. I am sorry to admit that one of my superficial aspects is my desire for a good voice. I am a natural conversationalist and I like people's voices. There is something sexy about a good voice....I mean, if I have to talk to him for hours and he sounds like Pee Wee Herman, then I can see where it might not work. I just can't imagine dating someone with a very bad sounding voice. | |

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/1/2007 8:11:30 PM | A man's voice is definetly a dealbreaker. It is the main thing I am attracted to. I love a man reading to me. | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/1/2007 8:22:02 PM | It does!!!!! and everything you have mentioned is exactly the same way I feel on the subject matter. I have ran into the problem quite a few times myself: where the guy's voice just did not mesh with my perception of HIM--and it just struck him out of the game, per ce. LOL If the guy's voice doesn't sound right, more than likely he isn't either...LOL!!! | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/1/2007 8:53:50 PM | | i LIKE A GUY WITH A VOICE THAT SOUNDS LIKE A MAN BUT NOT LOW AND DRUNK OR STONED WHEN THEY TALK REALLY SLOW I HATE THAT BUT A MAN WITH A DEEP VOICE SOUNDS SEXY!!! | |

Of all the characteristics some women choose to focus on in a man, now it's their voice that could be a dealbreaker?! No wonder there's so many single people on here... you guys could make a cup of coffee nervous. lol Awww now, c'mon - go through the threads and look at the mustache posts on women, the boob posts, etc...;)
I think maybe it could be a matter of 'frequency'. If you vibrate at the correct 'frequency' voice, maybe it's a hit then?
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 4:29:17 AM | Yes, it does matter. If it is high-pitched and whinny, drives me up a wall. Something like running a fingernail on a blackboard.
I've answered this question couple of other times as there seems to be dozens of threads already out there on this subject, so what I add here will probably get the mod's "redundant axe" but I will say again, that I do love the deep gravely airline pilot's voice and that Texas cowboy's strong deep voice. Yep! Give me the strong deep westerner male voice anytime.

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 7:36:31 AM | | you can hear testosterone in a guys voice-shit some women sure have some crazy super powers. | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 7:38:32 AM | I wonder what exactly you mean when you say have to talk to him for hours. If you are talking for hours does'nt it mean you LIKE talking to this person-you have confused me. Sounds pretty stuck up to me, meh! | |

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 9:32:24 AM | You know, I never was attracted to women with squeaky/child-like voices until I met my ex. Her voice absolutely resembled a pre-pubscent teens voice. But I loved her all the same.
My point is you never know who you will be attracted to UNTIL YOU MEET THEM. Online profiles and such mean nothing. Until you get to know someone you're looking pretty much at a book, the cover, a few pictures inside and making a decision.
Can't really judge a book until you read it.
Cheers. | |

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 10:21:43 AM | >>You know, I never was attracted to women with squeaky/child-like voices
I kind of like that. It seems cute to me.
The only thing I can't stand is when women's voices get all raspy after menopause.
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 5:31:00 PM | ...women's voices get all raspy after menopause. Really? All of 'em? Gee Whiz? My, oh, my. First, women get ridiculed for PMS and then later for daring to go through menopause. So what happens to the guys? PLEASE tell me that they don't lose their hair, get false teeth, have to have the blue pill, or is it purple? And don't get a tv-football-watching beer-belly?
My voice is low... not husky, not put-on. I only have one functioning vocal cord, so I don't have a lot of volumne but what is there is clear and can be understood. Just isn't loud or shrill, or at least it isn't now. Suppose though, according to ^^^^^^ I have "all raspy" to look forward to. Who knows, maybe I can use that raspy voice -- if I get one-- in voice commericals. :-) Thus far, no complaints.

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 6:07:25 PM | As sure as the sun will rise in the east, anytime you make a generalization on POF, some jackass will jump on you. Nevermind that some generalizations are pretty good. Like, "The sky is usually blue." Some jackass will pipe up with, "I saw a red sky last night! You're stupid!"
Most women's voices change after menopause. Sorry to be the one to break bad news to you.
And what I like or don't like is nobody's business but my own.
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 6:34:14 PM | And what I like or don't like is nobody's business but my own. Have to agree with you there, especially on voice. Superficial is one thing, but annoying is another. | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 6:37:07 PM | ^^I'm confused, are you saying I'm annoying for stating my opinion? I didn't start this thread.
If the women can sound off about their preferences re: men's voices, what is wrong with me stating my preference?
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 6:56:47 PM | | Sorry for not being clearer, was saying that some voices can be too annoying and it is not supperficial to avoid them. | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 7:06:30 PM | Definate deal breaker! Some people all they do is open their mouth and I cringe! But then again I don't like the way my own voice sounds when recorded! Go figure! | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 7:28:35 PM | | i don't think it is right to judge women as superficial for this. i can live with a guy being bald, overweight not obese, odd physical features but the voice is something that must be right. i am not saying the guy has to sound sexy but too high of a pitch no way. | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/2/2007 8:14:15 PM |
you can hear testosterone in a guys voice-shit some women sure have some crazy super powers. blahahaha - and don't you forget it;)
Most women's voices change after menopause. Sorry to be the one to break bad news to you. Recent research is finding that women's ovaries continue to produce and replenish eggs after menopause. There's a thread on that subject. See - male science is a little slow on that, but what should we expect? So technically, menopause will someday be a thing of the past - sorry to break the bad news to you;)

Bless your heart. Of course, what you like or don't like is nobody's business but yours -- I sincerely apologize. I thought I could express an opinion here as well. My mistake. I wasn't trying to steal your thunder. Come on, I think you are just upset because the Gators are going to whoop Ohio's arse.

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/3/2007 1:13:47 AM | You know what, Blaze... this one man I've been talking to, is a doll, but... um... he has a VERY feminine "gay" sounding voice. And it's kinda starting to freak me out. I'm sure what I just say will piss at least one person off, but before anyone gets their undies in a bunch... try to take what I said for what it's worth, not as an insult. My best friend is a gay man, and he has the kind of femmy-lispy thing going on... and this guy I've been talking to, sounds just like my best friend.
I have NO idea what this is going to wind up doing or not doing for me. I guess only time will tell... hahaha :)

Women's studies has destroyed a generation of young minds!

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/3/2007 4:14:55 AM | | I loved my husband's voice the first time I heard it. By the same token, I spoke with a guy prior to meeting my husband and he sounded downright "girly". I could neverquite get beyond it. | |
|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/3/2007 4:51:29 AM | Sounds like when her HEART is talkin' - It Matters Sounds like when her HEAD is talkin' - It Doesn't Matter
Would the Hearts please contact me so I can call you on the phone, and if you like the sound of my natural voice (And You Will), I can take my ad off here, and we can live happily everafter !
I'd appreciate it, thanks !

| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/3/2007 7:27:50 AM | So Im going to try not to be rude here...
Why would a woman want a man who sounded like a little boy who got his balls chopped off??
I went on a date with this one guy and his voice was so soft and sweet and it drove me crazy. He said he was straight....but......if I closed my eyes and had a conversation with him, i'd beg to differ.
Personally I love a deep voice.......the deeper, the sexier.
High pitched or "womanly voice"= biggest deal breaker ever!!!!!!

|
| Does a guy's voice matter? Posted: 1/3/2007 7:47:46 AM | well..this is like the whole hieght thing.....women just naturally respond to men who are taller and now apparently men with deep voices...this is nothing new and does not really reflect poorly on anyone...other than to have preferances...
Just remember though that "you too" (be you man or woman) will also be judged on something kinda superficial...be it boobs, wieght or whatever....
Basically if you have critearia like this, you lose the right to complain if someone dismisses you for some other superficial thing...
Like JAr mentioned earlier i dated a woman whose voice was like a "12 year old"..at first it really kinda bugged me, not to mention that when my roomate took the first message he said:
"i think your niece just called"..lol
Basically if you are willing to get to know someone and invest a little emotion into them...things like this...well they really dont matter...but if you judge and decide on things with some urgency than all of these things will matter.
Its you choice. | |
