| Southern Quotes and Phrases Posted: 1/10/2007 1:36:00 PM | I thought I had to be "Southern" to post on this one...glad I read the thread! Some of the first phrases I heard/learned when I moved to Middle GA were:
"fixin to get on yuh" "buggy" = shopping cart "my husband carried me to work" "totin' my lunch" "I ain't studdin' you!"...now that really brought an image to mind; I grew up on a farm. "grillin' out"
Some my step-dad used to use: "I'll knock a turd out of you as long as a well rope" and "Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey"
I don't know if I qualify as a "yank" or not...I'm from the Pacific NW. | |
