As you approach the speed of light you extend, flatten and time slows down, which is the effects of the light barrier working on you, one of the theories is once you break that barrier you would snap back to normal size and time would go back to normal however you would be in like a time bubble that isn’t affected by the changes of time and you could get off at any point, it isn’t clear weather you would stay in the same place or you move at the same time. However you really aren’t time traveling as you would picture it like walking through a door from one time to another, everything would appear to speed up and as far as physics is concerned there is no way to turn back time. Why any one would want to makes no sense the odds of you NOT creating a time paradox a slim to none, thus trapping to entire universe in a loop which we would probably never notice… we might be in one right now as we speak, I might be doomed to write this message over and over again until the end of time… if it ever comes… | |

Weezy - Where were you last night? You were supposed to come for Wings.....oh wait.....you were busy playing matchmaker on here!  (some people!) And I talked to Troodles about the decorations etc. I will fill you in later.
Silver - Keep in mind it is still early in the game here, it takes time for people to sign up. You won't be the only youngin there, more will be there, you just have to wait for a bit. And speaking from experience, I just started attending the meets here less than a month ago, and it is so easy to meet people that even if you go alone, it's not too big of a deal....I don't think. | |

Posted: 1/5/2007 7:59:56 PM | time is relative in that the if you go the speed of light, light travels away from you at the same speed so "breaking" the light barrier is out of our current level of understanding in physics,also if you were travelling at the speed of light time for you would appear to pass normally while time for someone else would appear to you to slow down, but in that same respect someone who isnt travelling the speed of light would see time pass more quickly for someone who is going that fast.
If you started your journey at age 25 and someone who was your exact age wasnt when you accelerated to the speed of light you would age slower then the person who is "standing still"(they would appear to age faster) but to see any visable effects you would have to be travelling the speed of light for some time(a few seconds wouldnt matter all that much)
But it would be nice to be able to go forward a week or two and say get the super7 winning numbers lol | |

Posted: 1/5/2007 11:08:57 PM | Ya that whole "time doesn't really exsist" thing bothered my in physic class, mostly to the point we use time to measure some stuff, apparently in the formuals we're suppost to assume you timed the person well you were stationary.
I thought they just had no clue weather or not light would still be going at the speed of light relative to you when you at the speed of light becasue of the whole time slowing, 2-d, really long and heavey thing was just apporching the speed of light, so it was a barrier (kind of light the sound barrier) once you brake through all is fine and dandy but breaking it is the heard hard part. There is a theory that when the barrier is broken that a light version of the sonic boom will occur, it would be rather hot in theory and might just burn up the ship breaking the barrier. Something else you have to worry about well making that light speed drive people, remember your craft must with stand a lot of heat.

current theories do not support "faster than light" speeds, ("breaking", the light barrier)... and theoretically, it would take an infinite amount of energy, to accelerate actual mass, (matter), to that speed.....
("wormhole" theory, on the other hand, allows one to reach a distant location, without actually "travelling", the entire distance, but rather, jumping across to that point, via a shorter route)
ANYWAY... the point I want to make is... in my late teens, I disovered the secret of time travel... it took me a long time to abandon the "accepted" theories, and find the TRUE answer.
It is correct, to assume you need an old telephone booth... along with a few other incidental items.. but... the SECRET... is...
(drumroll please!!!).....................................................................
A "CRAIG POWERPLAY 8 TRACK" deck...(not sure if the young 'uns in the crowd recall that particular right of passage.. lol)...
AND... you need to record your own 8 track cartridge, (not easy to do, as very few decks ever had a record function)... with a repeating loop of - "The Beatles... 'NUMBER 9' " (is anyone else having a flashback???).
It is of vital importance, that it does NOT stop playing.. or you will be forever lost to this reality. I suggest wrapping a couple of metal coathangers around the deck and cartridge, to hold it in place.
And lastly.. you need a large supply of quarters, for the phone, as you need to feed it, to keep the tape playing.
There ya have it!!!! THE SECRET to time travel!!!!!
OH... WAIT... I almost forgot... way back then, well.. those were "acid days".. and im not sure... but that might also be a crucial element.
