Yep, combine testosterone with the knowledge that you won't get your period or get pregnant and you pretty much have a woman who is experiencing a new kind of freedom and enjoying every minute of it. | |

Post-menopausal may not get lubricated enough and men may suffer from diabetes or other illnesses that may cause them not to be able to have an erection. These are the medical issues. People can work around these issues however. The most important thing is for 2 people who love eachother to try to satisfy the other in a variety of ways and they are not always sex. Be creative and enjoy eachother. | |

Licoricecat, you are absolutely correct about satisfying your partner in a variety of other ways, wether it's it is sexual in nature, or simply giving the right attention to the right partner.

Your informant doesn't understand hormone production. Menopause does not mean cessation of female hormones (estrogen & progesterone) ; it does mean the reduction of female hormones, but just as men have a small amount of estrogen produced in their bodies, so women have a small (varying quantities) amount of testosterone (responsible for libido). So the reason some women who go off sex in menopause is not because they have the equivalent of castration, but other reasons (psychological, whatever). Hormone replacement therapy is really only useful for slowing the thinning of vaginal tissue. It isn't about boosting sex drive.
As for having bad relationships/ bad sex lives: again, nonsense. I have had bad relationships and some jolly good ones. The bad relationships were ultimately about the men not having much sex drive and me having to find good sex elsewhere.
So, stay with sexy older women. We like it. | |

the only problem that I see for sex and women over 40/50 is that the men over 40/50 can't keep up...shame..... well,most of them can`t keep up,very few can.So knock a few years of and get a younger guy for really good sex | |

Not all us women think this way...
I have always loved an older man....and even now that I'm almost 49, I still enjoy an older man. (and by older I mean my own age and older  )
I find their comfortable confidence in their abilities to be sexy as hell.
They know how to laugh and have a good time, and know that the destination isn't the be all - end all of the ride......but taking the windy, slow backroads to get there is!
There are definately advantages for both men and women that come with age,
and sex is one of them. | |

Now that I am older, it is only better as I am. I have been told that by an ex I was with for a second round, lol
