| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 10:08:06 AM | My bengal tiger kitty is called Zena - but when I tell her to come - she does and then she is called " the best dog ever",hehehe. | |

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 10:29:41 AM | | Never really named any of my pets "normal" names. Had dogs named Sprite and Coffee. Had a black cat named Satan. Rabbit's name is Callebaut and my parents dog is Frodo... Wouldn't name a pet a "person's" name. | |

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 5:47:32 PM | well when I had a cat and dog their names were lightning and thunder

|
| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 5:54:52 PM | | I'm gonna guess that chins are chinchillas, not a breed of dog or a sign of a drastic weight challenge? | |
|
| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 7:31:33 PM | I used to have two hamsters named Duckie and Spatula. Ah so Iam NOT the only one that names their animals weird names My canabalistic gerbils were Moo~Moo and Petri~Dish..... and My cats are Prada & Diva.... | |

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 8:59:28 PM | I got a dog named Homer!! ......He's a beagle and he's cute as a puppy!! LOL.....
I tried to rename him.....but nothing rhymed with Homer well except for "B"er and that was worse. I couldn't imagine yelling here "B"er here "B"er. hahahaha
I do not name him either. He was 3 years old when I adopted him, someone beat him and he used to shiver and shake when I first had him. Now, he believes he owns the house and the yard. He never howled or barked for the first 6 months we had him. Wow, now he's loud just like the rest of us .....LOL.....and howls if he's left out too long.

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 9:54:17 PM | No current pets (there is a current threat that the situation may change), but here are a few favourite cat names we had.
Meow, Scum, Stupid, Bob, Howler....oh yeah, and the two my mother named.......Ginger and Fluffy!

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/20/2007 11:18:37 PM | | my cats are Epsilon and Mu (pronounced mew). He is usually Eppy..lately i have been calling him boo or buddy; if he is bad he gets his full name Epsilon Rowles-Smith (the hyphenated last name = long story, dont ask). She gets Moo or Moo-Moo. I call them a million different names - they dont care as long as the tone of voice stays the same. | |

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/21/2007 2:46:03 AM | Border Collie...Dexter ( latin means Right...named by my friends 9 yr old child) Border Collie( Dexters daughter) ....Kitty....( Why????...named by friends 6 yr old child) Brown tabby cat ...Enzo Ferrari...came with name from SPCA...thinks he is a dog, comes, sits, stays, lies down on comand!
Dexter is not particular...will answer to anything, including "GET OFF" but most common alias' are fat dog, DO, Dexter Dogo, Dex, Dee....
Kitty isn't as sociable, and usually only answers to Kitty or Skinny dog ( perhaps she has a complex???)
Enzo...well, pretty much anything ( including snapping fingers!!!) which is amazing for a feline, but we do take into consideration that we were his 7th home before 1 yr of age...he is just grateful to wake up the same place every morning!
Various assorted dog, cats, hampsters, horses, birds over the years...most memorable names... Getti ( Gettin' Warmer...full sister to 14 Below, Warmer Yet and Hot stuff...where did this filly fit in???) Sasha( sookie) and Arnold( minarn) siamese cats Fang ( ..real name Hunky Dory...????)orange tabby Cora( coochie) french poodle-miniture And Trooper...the horse...named for the band....

my cat's name of late has simply been "fukin ass hole"
I seriously don't know why people have animals if they don't want them or don't know how to look after them. It's really sad. Animals are just like children.
|
| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/21/2007 8:46:40 AM | | They are NOT just like children. Nor does the post you quoted have anything to do with being unable or unwilling to look after them. Animals are animals. They will do what they wish, regardless. I've seen plenty of well-treated animals that still did infuriating things. | |

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/21/2007 10:11:45 AM | well I have a cat, her name is Isis (like the greek goddess) it suits her too she thinks shes all that and a can of kitty chow.

| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/21/2007 11:55:13 AM | Alvin came with his name when I adopted him out of the SPCA. (You can see him in one of my profile pics.)
However, given the "Alvin Effect", which generates the largest tumbleweed hairballs I have ever seen, I often call him fluffball or furball. But even cats need positive self esteem, so I often say "Who's a good guy?"
|
| Dogs & Cats and names Posted: 1/21/2007 1:56:26 PM | Hey Cathead3.... I totally get the"Alvin Effect"...I had a matching set of "Alvins" in college...Bob and Pete...one orange and one grey....I am still trying to figure out why that type of hair "tumble weeds"! | |
